Oh btw last time I met Patrick I gave him a giraffe I made out of beads and wire, and he told me that lots of people give him stuffed giraffes but he doesn't like that... so would he like knitted animals...? (Sorry to I don't mean to ruin your plans or anything ) I think he's probably just fed up of people giving him giraffes to be honest! He must get a fair few of them Haha yeah, I think he meant he was sick of people giving him the same thing all the time, but my giraffe was kind of different, he seemed to like it at least, he wanted to make it into a necklace

I once came across a quote that describes exactly what I look for in music: "Music should go right through you, leave some of itself inside you, and take some of you with it when it leaves."

Cat - short for Catriona (no one ever calls me Cat though) and also my favourite animal. Wolf - Patrick Wolf, obviously A catwolf seems like a sort of hybrid animal you'd get if you combined me and Patrick, haha! And catwolf was taken when I tried to register so I added 21 which is my lucky number (and also the date of my birthday).

I love love love the House bsides so much, especially Divine Intervention I can't believe it's finally been released (Palladium memories... ;D) I actually like it that speed (but I did wonder why Patrick's voice sounded so high!!!). But I was playing around with it in a DJ app I've got (which I don't really know how to work!) and it sounded much more normal when I slowed it down a bit! It'll be a bit strange hearing the proper version though, I'm used to it at the wrong pitch!!!

Yeah I've seen that, I'd love them to play together again - that's part of the reason I suggested a collaboration I've never really thought their music was similar, but everyone seems to think it is (I actually discovered Owen because He Poos Clouds came up in the "listeners also bought" section of pretty much every PW album on itunes). I think you're probably right about the reasons they're always compared. Heartland is definitely my favourite non-PW album but I think I probably like all Patrick's music better than Owen's. I love Owen's music almost almost as much, but in an entirely different way. I'm not really sure how to explain - Patrick's music is more special to me, and sort of reaches in and touches my soul, but Owen's music is special to me in a different way, more like I just really REALLY like it. That probably makes no sense, it's sort of like the difference between having a really deep and enlightening conversation, and having a laugh and a really good time with your friends. But not as black and white as that.

The unreleased songs I have (not including demos/live versions of released songs) are: Volcanoradio Blackbird Identity (it's a cover) Midnight Six Moons Ago Beastiality The Hairy Song Short Story Free But Not For Long (Bishi vocals) Also: The Tower (early version of Theseus) The Barghest (early version of Oblivion) Wargames (early version of Count Of Casualty, basically the first half but worse quality and quieter vocals) I used to have Treasure Trail but it was terrible quality so I deleted it, it's got the bass line of Queen Isabella and the line "Do you really wanna know what's going on inside of me." from Blackbird in it. I've been trying for years to round up all the unreleased songs. I've heard of Eustacia but I've never been able to find it. Are the any recordings of it, or Rites Of Spring? I've never heard of Brutality, where did you hear about that? And Abolition, were you meaning about Midnight/Abolish Confusion or is that another song I haven't heard? And the songs that didn't make it onto Lupercalia: Wild Life The Halcyon Nocturne That's all I can remember, were there any more? I'm holding off downloading in case they end up as bsides (I have a feeling Wild Life could be released at some point, loads of people seemed upset it wasn't on Lupercalia). Oh there's also a song he played live with Owen Pallett, it could be called Brother John but I'm not entirely sure. www.youtube.com/watch?v=m11VsOqrD24I've also heard of a song called Blue Boy but I don't know anythng about it. I'm not including cover versions btw. Anyone know of any more unreleased songs or anywhere I could listen to the songs I don't have?

Yeah that probably was me, i think that would have been about the time i was there I was actually crying at every song he played for the first half hour or so, it was so wonderful when the curtain came up and he started playing Overture, that's one of my favourite songs ever ;D I hung around for ages at the end to try and meet him but I was with my dad (my parents wouldn't let me go to London myself back then), so he dragged me away before Patrick came out One of the guys clearing up came out and randomly gave me a setlist though ;D I got Patrick to sign it last time i met him, it's one of my most prized possessions And now Divine Intervention has been released it reminds me so much of that show ;D

^ Yeah I see what you mean, parts of it sound slightly Owen-ish, although the song as a whole doesn't. They should so collaborate one day!!! ;D I hope so! I have wondered if they have had slight disagreements after the Owen Pallett 'Butt' Magazine interview. He does not mention Patrick in the best of lights, although, he does not insult him. Here is the link ( Warning: image of Owen Pallett's backside): www.buttmagazine.com/magazine/interviews/owen-pallett/Note: the Patrick mentioned at first is his fiance. I remember someone on Owen's forum suggesting a collaboration with Patrick and Andrew Bird, here's what Owen said: "My friend The three of us all have extremely similar skill sets And yet Wildly divergent intentions." "Which is to say THOSE GUYS THOSE GUYS ARE AWESOME. But I'm more likely gonna find myself working with somebody who likes New Order as much as I like New Order and wouldn't be adverse to singing a song called "Pussyhole"." So it probably wouldn't happen but it would be wonderful if it did!!! I once read somewhere that Owen and Patrick (Wolf) used to go out (which was obviously wrong), I think some people get confused betweeen Patrick Wolf and Patrick Borjal!!! I get the feeling that Owen might be right and Patrick may not like his music much. I remember reading somewhere that Owen sent Patrick a copy of He Poos Clouds, but Patrick said he hadn't listened to it because he'd hate to not like it and Owen was his friend regardless. So I think possibly Patrick doesn't like Owen's music, or maybe thinks he might not so is scared to listen to it. But I'm sure if he heard Heartland he'd like it. I'm just speculating btw I may be entirely wrong. And also, Owen isn't mentioned in the thanks bit on any of Patrick's albums so I'm not sure they're that close. (Patrick is mentioned on Heartland though...)

I'm new on the forum (but I've been a PW fan for a long time) and the present thing you've done looks wonderful! Can I be part of next year's one? Oh btw last time I met Patrick I gave him a giraffe I made out of beads and wire, and he told me that lots of people give him stuffed giraffes but he doesn't like that... so would he like knitted animals...? It wouldn't work for me until I uploaded it on imageshack again and resized the picture to 100 by 100.

If you go onto Profile then Modify Profile you can either choose an avatar from there or copy and paste a url. I had so many problems since I wanted to upload a picture from my computer but I don't think you can do that. And it wouldn't let me put a url from facebook or twitter (I think maybe it was too big, it can't be bigger than 100 by 100). I ended up uploading it to imageshack and resizing it so I could get a url that worked, but it took me like an hour to realise the problem. But if you want a picture which is already online it should be easy as long as it isn't too big, you just have to copy and paste the url.

Hello! Welcome =) Are you cat21 from shzine (I'm Clara there)? I think I read something very similar to what you said about meeting him but I can't remember if it was on Shzine or on Tumblr. ANYWAY! Glad you enjoyed the show and got to speak to him ! Mmm I wouldn't mind a cover of Vulture. Angry!Owen ftw. XD I once dreamt I found pink masking tape in the drawer of his FUCKING fdfghjkKITCHEn. Being a DIY freak I was then more excited about the tape than about the fact that I was hanging out with him in his FUCKING fdfghjkKITCHEn. XD Yeah I am cat21 from shzine, hello Haha I love random dreams and in the morning you're like "What was that about??!!" So jealous of everyone going to see Owen
