probably because someone wanted to gain more popularity for their song? at least, that's what people used to do back in the days of p2p filesharing programs like kazaa, etc - label their song as a popular artist so people would download it by mistake... Shocking!

^ Awww, a very small part of me was half-hoping for Owen Pallett (I know it's not going to happen, but still...) Or Bishi... Or in an ideal world, Björk...... ok i'll shut up now

I've never heard of Fog Fields either. I just googled it and it came up with a load of download links but not much information. In all the download links it's called "Patrick Wolf - Fog Fields" and it's listed as a PW song in some places, but I also found a site (i think it's an old version of this forum actually) where someone said: "i think it's been established that this isn't actually a patrick wolf song. i don't know who the original artist is, where this came from or how it came to circulate labelled as a patrick wolf song. as far as i know it has nothing to do with him." patrickwolf.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=pw&action=print&thread=3428I can't any proper evidence that it is or isn't a PW song, does anyone know any more?

^Haha sorry, i was just meaning however professional/expensive the roadies are, and however perfect or otherwise the performance is, none of that matters if there aren't enough people wanting to see him. Still slightly missing my point though Catty. Point being that- at least currently - Patrick does not operate on the professional level of a top line (ie Glasto) headliner. Regardless of whether he has a lackie tuning his Ukelele or not. Maybe if enough people wanted to see him he would headline anyway. Or maybe not. I think Lunamorgan's right about how he'd have more expensive roadies and more people making sure everything was ok. And Patrick would probably make sure he remembered the right chords if he was headlining Glastonbury To be honest I really don't know, I think it would be wonderful if he headlined but then I'm biased

I think you're right lunamorgan. But i think the reason Patrick's not a headliner is purely because he's not popular enough. Which could be because most people haven't heard of him or maybe because most people listen to rubbish music (I'm referring to all the manufactured, talentless music that's in the charts, i don't mean to be a snob!) But it's a shame because he is very underappreciated and deserves to be that popular. (Although i don't want him to start playing huge venues and never being able to meet fans for fear of ambushed and everything that goes along with being that famous!)

I've corrected the Mercia lyrics i thought were wrong (but i always mishear lyrics so i might not be right!): It was a day not to forget The sun shone golden apples through the wheat field We wandered dappled lanes up to the house your brother said was haunted Someone once had been murdered there You gave me the kiss I’ll never regret I’ll be loving you for all my time Be the one that walks beside you Mine is yours Yours is mine The next day in Wicksteed park Your sister ( ) showed us those abandoned thrill rides (That line sounds like "Your sister in the showed us those abandoned thrill rides"!) Your eyes could be your mind (?) The starlings gathered on the lawns for the leaving of the midlands These lands you were born and raised in I’ll be loving you for all my time Be the one that walks beside you Yours is mine I know you grew up in country I grew up in city But can we grow both together Drive up to the cliffs and watch the weather wild and innocent like Those days we were younger Laugh about the lines (?) we escaped Mine is yours if yours is mine So darling come and dance with me, gypsy dance with me Time to leave behind the midlands

I still love the song and consider it one of his best since... The Tinderbox, which was by far the best Bachelor-era track. So do I. And there's a bit of Tinderbox's violin melody at some point during Divine Intervention I love The Tinderbox too! At the Palladium show Divine Intervention was the introduction, i'd never heard it before and my first thought was that it sounded like The Tinderbox But i think i like Divine Intervention even better.

I don't think that is the correct version. It's the exact same speed (i think!) as the "fast" version, it's just the pitch has been changed - i think the correct version is supposed to be slower too. ^great. I've impatiently waited for the correct version. Where does it come from? Has it been released on itines by now? I'm also interested in knowing about this. I'm so deeply in love with the "incorrect" version of this song you've no idea how awkward I feel about this "correct" version Me too, i got so used to the "fast" version it will be strange hearing the proper version! And it's still not on (uk) itunes btw You saw in me, i’ve been unseen (actually i hear something like You saw me beyond the sea or something)I thought that line was "You saw in me all the unseen" which would make more sense, but it sounds like it could be either. I absolutely love Divine Intervention!!! And Mercia ;D

lol oh well, part of him is still a boy, so let him have his superstardom dreams that and his not so perfect shows make us love him so much and i for myself can say that i wouldn't want it any other way. of course i wish him success and that he can make a living from his music but at the same time it wouldn't be the same anymore if he played only 7000+ venues at some point. he wouldn't be able to have the close fan-relation anymore. and i'm sure he's aware of it and might not even want that himself. but the impulsive dream-statements belong to patrick like the not so perfect shows, the messing up the song house, the random dance moves, the flipping the hair back in position and the ... lets call them 'interesting' at times outfits. i don't think that one should take everything patrick says all too seriously... I completely agree! Last time i saw him live, the cable fell out his viola halfway through a song and i found it and passed it back up to him! Things like that and forgetting chords etc might be more unprofessional, but it sort of makes him seem more human/real if that makes sense. I prefer shows like that, and i hope he doesn't ever stop playing small venues. But i think it would be wonderful if he headlined Glastonbury! ;D

I know what you mean, when I was 14 or 15 I used to always have to bring my dad to concerts, and I wasn't allowed to travel to other cities on my own until last year when I turned 18. You'll be old enough soon, and it will probably seem even better if you've had to wait so long
