Hi Catriona, welcome Or rather welcome again, as you've been here before. Glasgow <3 I love Glasgow! Did they clean the plate of the dude on the horse at George Square by now? (<- don't answer this, just a random memory that bolted in my mind when I read 'Glasgow') Haha I'm not sure. But the cone is gone from the statue's head in Merchant City That's like the icon of Glasgow found myself nodding in approval reading the second half of your post, so I guess we'll get along just fine and welcome back! Penzance - oh...yes it is really divine... Thank you, nice to (virtually) meet you Yeah Penzance is wonderful, I can't even explain how much I love it. If I ever heard it live my life would be fulfilled I think ;D

Hi I'm new on this forum (even though I signed up a while ago), and AN OWEN PALLETT THREAD IN THE PATRICK WOLF FORUM?!!! ;D ;D ;D (Ok not that surprising but nevertheless it's exciting) The only thing I love more than Owen's music is Patrick's music! I'm used to liking kind of obscure/unrelated music so when things I like come together like this it makes me rather excited. Anyway... I discovered Owen's music in September 2009 then discovered he came to Glasgow THE MONTH BEFORE I've been waiting for him to come back to Scotland ever since, but it doesn't look like it's happening. So I gave up waiting and spent rather a lot of money travelling to London for the Barbican show last month, was anyone else there? Full orchestral performance of Heartland - incredible ;D I actually managed to meet Owen (I was in the circle and in a moment of craziness decided to sneak into the stalls to say hello to him when he was clearing up the stage, he was too busy to talk much but he shook my hand) ;D ;D ;D So...I'm willing to discuss anything Owen-related. I don't know one single person who's heard of him and I get the feeling I might be his entire Scottish fanbase! Oh I just remembered something you might find amusing - I once had this crazy dream where Owen had released a cover version of Vulture!!! I was listening to it but I've no idea what it sounded like! I can actually sort of imagine it slightly, I think it would be more orchestral than electronic, with lots of fast pizzicato and angry bowing and Owen would go sort of crazy like he does in Carload Of Whatever (by Les Mouches, his old band, if anyone's heard it). That would be brilliant!!! The things my subconscious comes up with!

Hi everyone, I'm Catriona I signed up to the forum years ago to ask a couple of questions, then I sort of forgot all about it... but now I shall properly join! So... I'm from Glasgow, I'm studying Chemistry and I am rather Patrick Wolf obsessed as everyone who knows me knows ;D I think I've listened to his music every single day for the past 2 years. His music means more to me than words could ever explain, but I'm sure you all know what I mean I've seen him twice in Glasgow, and in London at the Palladium (I couldn't miss that!!!) ;D I was lucky enough to meet him at both the Glasgow shows (well it was more arriving 5-8 hours early than luck!) He actually remembered me last time ;D And he's so so lovely!!! Oh also I'm seeing him in Edinburgh the day after my birthday this year (best birthday present ever) ;D Hmm not sure what else to say... Other music I love: Owen Pallett - I love his music nearly as much as Patrick's but in an entirely different way if that makes sense Björk - I'm going to see her next week actually, rather exciting ;D Also The Feeling, Gipsy Kings, Bishi, Carl Barat (random, I know) My favourite books are Philip Pullman's His Dark Materials Trilogy. My favourite films are Dancer In The Dark (the semi-musical film that Björk's in) and Belleville Rendezvous (strange but wonderful French animation). I have 2 giant African land snails. My picture is from 2 years ago and it looks like Patrick and I are posing in front of a bingo sign! Woops I've made this kinda long, that's probably enough random crap about me. Sorry if I come across as kinda crazy/hyper, I tend to get rather over-enthusiastic when talking about how much I love Patrick! Oh one last thing, I'm so happy Divine Intervention has been released, now Penzance may have a competitor for my absolute favourite song ever

It's so so so hard to choose but i have to say Beastiality or Penzance. I think it has to be Penzance, it reaches in and touches my soul like nothing else i've ever heard.

Does anyone know what size the youth hoodies are from the PW merchandise shop? I'm about a size 8 or 6 sometimes + I have a small womens palladium tshirt (which is apparently size 8-10) + it fits me fine. Would small or medium youth hoodies fit me or would they be too small cos they're meant to be for kids?

thanks but i'm not sure if it's right cos all the notes i worked out were in the B major scale (B C# D# E F# G# A# B) i might be wrong though cos i'm not very good at working out notes to songs and everything i play for the first verse sounds wrong to me. here's what i worked out:
instrumental bit at the start: ascending B major scale then B B B G# F# G# x6 A# A# A# F# D# A#(or B?) x2
D# C# B G# B Who puts me in the
D# D# D# C# B G# F# F# Magic position darling now
D# C# B G# B You put me in the
D# D# D# C# B Magic position
i worked out a few other bits too but i'm not sure if they're right so i won't post them. i think this bit's right though (tell me if it's not)

Does anyone know the notes of the Magic Position? I'm trying to work out how to play what Patrick sings but all i've managed to work out so far is the "Who puts me in the magic position" bit.
