i just cant believe amazon can supply & ship at nearly half the price that stupid sendback are, its no wonder everyone hates them I assume that they can keep costs down because they're HUGE. I also assume they're clever enough to use cardboard boxes for shipping. Using padded envelopes for fragile boxes and 7" singles... was NOT such a great idea, Sandbag. /Tommy

I ordered 2 copies from Amazon for a total of £11.17 (including shipping to Sweden), which would have cost me £16 from Sandbag, plus all the potential trouble with returning damaged stuff. HAPPY HAPPY, JOY JOY! /T

In the web store some old things have reappeared, like the Libertine CD single, but also the Wind in the Wires 7". I thought there were only 2000 and numbered copies? Are they pressing new copies now? That seems a bit unfair. Not quite sure, but, I did get the impression that the WITW single was quite common and not hard to find anywhere at all and the Libertine 7" was the more rare one. On the other hand, there aren't any Libertine 7":es in the store, so maybe just the last of the old stock? Perhaps they are newly made copies of the non limited (maybe Libertine 7" was and WITW wasn't?) singles? /t

blubells was a download only single, the cd is a promo Although, it's most definitely a high quality promo, with a proper slim single jewel case, artwork etc. Not a CD-R or something. /t

Why the F**K does this have to go through Sandbag? When I order music, I would very much like it packaged well enough to NOT break/get damaged in the mail, which apparently happens every time with Sandbag. Even though they have astronomical shipping fees. I considered ordering a second copy as a gift, but seeing as they charge the same shipping amount over again for each additional item... Ridiculous! Is there anywhere else I can pre-order it? If anyone finds an alternative, please let me know. To end this post on a happier note: SIX new tracks! Pelicans sounds lovely. Keeping my fingers crossed he'll play it in Stockholm on friday. /T

Where should I contact about a damaged lupercalia 12" bought from patricks online store? the A side works fine, but the B side jumps through most of the tracks I e-mailed orders@sandbag.uk.com and got all my replies from there, so that should work. /t

Maybe it IS William. I can't say I'm sure. For some reason, the file I was listening to might have some microscopic audio glitch right at that point. In the version which is on youtube, it DOES sound like William.
Also, I actually forgot completely about Lemuralia. I listened to it once or twice and then it's been out of both my stack of regularly played cds and mp3 player. It's not very exciting, apart from Oil Slick, which has mystified me and charmed me since Ada Zanditon used it for the catwalk (but it's nice to have a name for it and a proper quality version of it!) and that rather dancey The Falcons mix.

And back to "The Tower", I find it really interesting that he started off asking "William, where is my tower?" (Which was dropped before it became "Thickets".) Wasn't that released before anyone knew about who he was actually talking about there? I remember wondering who William was when I heard it, but I digress. I am pretty sure that the first recording of The Tower is a few years older than Patrick's relationship with William, though. I've only recently been rediscovering old gems, so I might be remembering things wrong. EDIT: The session it's from is taped in 2005, and I'm not entirely convinced he's singing "William", but I can't really hear what else it could be. I have no idea what actually happened to No Ghosts, though. There were trailers back in '07, but after that it all went quiet. Maybe they didn't get funding enough to finish it. Maybe it's still in production. There's a trailer here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=wcp7NDeFF68And the official site for it: www.noghosts.co.uk/ (which features an instrumental version of The Days) /t

After a few "reminder" emails, I got a replacement for the damaged House EP. This time, the cover had a few wrinkles and other damage due it being poorly packaged. However, the actual single was in perfect shape, so at least I have one perfectly good copy of that and a spare which might be listenable despite the scratches.
Maybe someone should tell Patrick that Sandbag isn't completely reliable? Since he always puts a lot of love into making the complete album package, I think he'd be sad to hear about all this.
EDIT: Also, why the heck is the slipcase in the "deluxe" box not of as high quality as the play.com edition? I don't want to sound like I'm not happy about the box/album etc, but a few of these things really could be handled better. I'd definitely pay even more for a bundle if I knew the money was all going to Patrick and not to incompetent Sandbag.
While I'm at it: Did everybody get a thin semi-glossy House EP sleeve? Seeing as the other single sleeves from this album have been thick matte paper, I am curious if there are several editions of that as well...

How on earth did I not know there were shows/audio on the Secret Garden site? I seemed to think it was wallpapers or something, I feel ashamed of being so underestimating now! I have to listen to EVERYTHING, but tomorrow when I have more time. If I wasn't so damned lazy, unorganised and constantly swamped with other things that need doing, that site would be updated with a bunch of new things and maybe it wouldn't look like a total mess. If there are any requests or suggestions, feel free to pm me and let me know. /t

Maybe there's one new track on the 7". If they're releasing a physical single?
Working on a remix right now, which is seriously hard but a lot of fun. Probably going to wait with finishing it until I get my new synth on monday.

I'm so envious of that EP promo that I decided to stop using the internet and sit in the dark and cry for a month... Not really though. Busy with summer, work and all kinds of things, so I haven't had time to post a lot here lately. Extremely lucky finds lately, guys, especially with that promo Dapaladi! /t

I used to be a big fan of Radiohead, but we've sort of... grown apart during the last eight years or so. In Rainbows was a good if somewhat boring album, stuffed full of sounds and production that I adored at the time. King Of Limbs, however, is a different kind of "new Radiohead" which I feel is jazzier and even more experimental. I love the synths, and the rhythms, dislike the fact that it's extremely hard to hear what Thom is singing and absolutely loathe the muddiness of the mix, where every complex part is very hard to distinguish from the others because of overlapping frequencies. So, in short, an album's worth of interesting and experimental tracks that don't get through to me. Has anybody heard/seen the "from the basement" live versions of the tracks from the album yet? I haven't had the time to listen properly, but hope it's good. As are the remix single tracks. /t

I thought I'd share something useful with you guys. If you want to "fix" the track speed for yourselves, it's easily achievable. 1. First, download Audacity (a freeware audio editing tool) and install and run it. 2. Make a backup copy (in case you mess up) of your Divine Intervention track and drag&drop the file into the Audacity window or open it the usual way. 3. Make sure the entire waveform is selected, then go to the "effect" tab and select "Change speed". Set it to around -4 somewhere (move the slider to the left) and click ok. 4. Then you just save the resulting file as some kind of audio format, preferrable the same type the original was in, and listen and enjoy! /t

The clip does NOT have that little fade-in sound at the end, which unfortunately doesn't mean much since someone's made a video version of the audio + still picture. But yes, it does sound more like an accurate version. Although... it's very noisy & poor quality audio, which is quite far from how it actually sounds. I still love the song and consider it one of his best since... The Tinderbox, which was by far the best Bachelor-era track.
