So, I'm curious, what kinds of stuff do you people collect?
I, for one, has quite a large amount of records, comics and video games (yeah, I'm a geek), but I'm not overly obsessed with anything except for my Patrick Wolf / Final Fantasy records at the moment.
I DO hope I'm not the only one mad enough to collect stuff, here. ;D

I don't collect video games exactly, i just have an awful lot of them. I've discovered some of them would now sell for almost £200 I used to play Warhammer and Magic: the gathering, but I never had anyone to play with.

It'll be tattoos, once I get paid.
I collect sea glass. That's it. I have things I keep if I get them, but sea glass is the only thing I actively seek out to collect.
Oh. And Zelda paraphanelia.

Now that the majority of playstation games have done so a whole market has opened up oldish games. I never kept anything that preceded the playstation unfortunately. Those can sell for a lot more. An original CD Final Fantasy game can sell for a fair bit as well.

I don't have the original Grandia, but I have Suikoden I-V. Imports...
Vagrant Story was amazing. I don't think I have it anymore though. I have Wasteland. That's probably the oldest RPG I've got. That's 1980-something. I hope that is worth something. How do you find out how much these things are worth?

Suikoden I & II (particularly II), Grandia, Vagrant story Vagrant Story's a great game, which I still haven't remembered to actually finish. Most of my old video games are stuff that I never use, I've got a load of old consoles, and all my old Sega Master System titles, that really feel old compared to Nintendo's 8-bit stuff. But, most of it's in boxes in the basement unfortunately. Nice to hear that I'm not alone in this. Go, on, people, baffle us with pictures of your magnificent collections. /t

How do you find out how much these things are worth? I'd check what the games sell for on eBay... not entirely accurate, but I guess it's a good measure. /t

Which is silly, as Grandia especially is considered one of the all time bests. Vagrant story was wonderfully atmospheric and tough. I felt like I'd really achieved something when I eventually finished it. Suikoden II though - cgi.ebay.co.uk/Suikoden-II-Playstation-Complete-MINT_W0QQitemZ270135038080QQihZ017QQcategoryZ62053QQrdZ1QQssPageNameZWD2VQQcmdZViewItemI think you'd have to so to a specialised auction for Wasteland.

It baffles me.

Is the main demand for RPGs?
Because I've got mostly RPGs. That's what I kept and my Dad kept and passed on to me (that's how I've got Wasteland, which is older than me)

I think the relatively low prices for some of this stuff are due to loads of re-prints, but if you actually have the original editions, and early prints I think you can get lots more for them. There are crazy collectors who pay loads to get the last copies of those. I like to think that you can make great finds too, if you're lucky. I bought these two darlings at my local second-hand music store last year for like $17 each and now they go for around $100 on eBay. And, yeah, I think RPG's are generally more popular, so if you're selling, you're gonna' be a rich man Luke. /t

I've got 2 Muse EPs. Muscle Museum and the Self titled EP. The number ones. Limited to 1000 They go for loads when muse actually release something. But at the moment they're like £100.
I don't really own that many really old games because where I live is practically in the dark ages. So not that rich. I don't like it that games are now £50. It's not fun for my wallet...

It's really a lot more fun to own real copies of games, but since I've become a lot more picky and easily bored I just buy a few REALLY good ones these days. The rest of my recent games are results of acts of piracy. Today: The Darkness for Xbox360. Yay! Lucky with those Muse EP's... Here's the good old PW Collection: /t

I love having an almost complete collection, but I wouldn't want to think about what I've payed for the lot. Living in Sweden's made it extremely hard to get hold of a lot of this stuff... But thanks. If there are any obvious holes in the collection, please, point them out for me.
I feel bad about doing this alone... come on, someone's bound to have a great collection of something.
