No it wasn't me trying to be voyeuristic, but I guess things like this people can construe in their own ways. It is a video collage I had to do for a 'personal cinema' project and I used collected materials to create it, and I improvised with music and used sound recordings to create a narrative. I guess in a way I was interfering with other people so I can see what you mean about voyeurism, but that was not my main focus. I manipulated situations by combining footage/sound i.e. a drunk man on a train chatting about romeo and juliet, using it to introduce my parents having a petty argument, etc. Yes, so slightly uncomfortable, maybe. It is pretty old now, I haven't really uploaded anything else to the internet, ha. ok ok, anyway the 'voyeuristic' aspect was not to be taken pejoratively, i mean i have a really reduced vocabulary in English but i guess you see what i meant... images are everywhere nowadays, and the tv reality shows can be totally an influence for art (even if you take it in a bad way, i am sorry but this is YOUR life, YOUR parents) anyway, i think this is deeply interesting related with the audio extracts and the subtitles and what you made of it as an autobiographical work (as the movie tarnation is, or buffalo 66 (vincent gallo, and this is one of my fav' movie so really don't take it badly when i talk of 'autobiographical' work and 'voyeurism') so: clap clap, i like it. really nice work!
