"The Return of Patrick Wolf
We can now announce that Patrick is getting ready to release his fifth album.
As yet without a title, we can tell you that you will be able to hear the first sounds from the album next week.
The first track to be taken from the album, 'Time Of My Life' will be getting its first play on Nick Grimshaw's Radio 1 show on Wednesday 3rd December.
Discussing the first single, Patrick says: "'Time Of My Life' is a song that I began writing at the end of a relationship in 2006 and then finished three years later during a temporary break up in my current relationship. The new album has a direct narrative about love and optimism surviving through adversity and recession. I wanted to celebrate the love and hope I have found in the last few years."
Released on December 6 'Time Of My Life' will be available on very limited edition 7" vinyl featuring a Leonard Cohen cover of 'Anthem' on the Bside.
To kick of proceedings Patrick will be performing a few intimate shows around the country in December.
5th December - Cardiff Clwb Ifor Bach 6th December - Guildford Boileroom 7th December - London Bloomsbury Ballroom

And did anyone else notice the "Universal Music" logo at the bottom?!
Bit concerned the album is still unnamed and not coming out after the first single, with major labels it always makes me a bit... hesitant.

My day had gone all wrong. Today was going to be THE day I tidied up the lounge. I've been getting the energy and motivation all week, and then a friend asked if I could give them a lift. Well I went to the rescue. On the way back I decided to do my weekend supermarket shopping. I fear I'm giving you all too much information here.
I was in Booth's supermarket in Ilkley when suddenly my phone started playing Damaris - a sign that I had a new email, and what a splendid email it is.
Is it selfish of me to want to go to all 3 shows?
Now I'll be looking up train times, venue, and hotel details details. I suspect I'll only get to 2, Guildford and London, if I can get tickets.
By the way I think when it says Wednesday December 3rd it means Wednesday November 3rd, as that's "next week" and is also a Wednesday, while 3rd December is a Friday.

I also want to go to all the shows. Does anybody know when Patrick's shows or shows in London Bloomsbury Ballroom usually finish? And why did I think that the new album was called The Conqueror?

I didn't get the e-mail Any chance someone would either post the pre-sale links or send them to me in a PM?

I've already started looking up train times in case I can make it down, it's still in my uni term BUT it's on a day when I shouldn't have anything on so fingers crossed it might work out, especially since the nearest Tube station's only a stop away from King's Cross/St Pancras: (hopefully) win! But we'll see...

I've already started looking up train times in case I can make it down .... I can get to Cardiff relatively cheaply on the Sunday, then go across to Guildford, surprisingly cheaply; stay there 2 nights and commute to London for the 3rd gig, then the next day back to London and back up north. All I need is to get the tickets on Monday and I can then get the trains and hotels booked. I really am looking forward to these gigs. In our family we haven't exchanged Christmas presents for the last 40 odd years, so this will be a Christmas present to myself.

This was exciting! But also makes me nervous.. Nick Grimshaw? I'm glad he's going to be getting publicity again but...it just scares me when it made him so unhappy last time!
Also, TYPICAL Patrick not choosing a name yet. I'm nervous for what the song sounds like too. Crossing fingers it's not a Vulture/Battle :/ but YAY shows! YAY NEW ALBUM!
eta: It appears that 3rd Dec is a friday, so i'm imagining they mean 3rd Nov for the radio play

I also want to go to all the shows. Does anybody know when Patrick's shows or shows in London Bloomsbury Ballroom usually finish? And why did I think that the new album was called The Conqueror? I *think* that's probably because it was going to be! But I recall somewhere hearing that he'd changed it because he felt the album had gone a new/different direction to what he expected, and now The Conquerer didn't seem a suitable name? I think he might have said something like that on twitter, but please correct me if I'm wrong anybody! And yes, this made my day too.

It should say November 3, right? Since it said we'd hear it next week? (so exciting!!)
Err... I didn't get the email to either of the accounts I've signed up to the mailing list on. Should I try joining again or are there issues?
