I'm going to be boring this year and be a witch. But I have a gold dress and a hat with gold stars on it so I think it'll be pretty fab. My only plans are to sit around and drink while handing out candy to children but that's okay with me!

It needs more gliiter, yes? I hope this is clue enough as to what I'm being for Halloween! (On that note, does anyone have any tips for something I can put on the glitter so that it doesn't come off with every move I make? I'm going to a house party and I don't think the homeowners will be very happy if there ends up being a mass amount of glitter everywhere I go haha... mod podge?)

Victoria you could try PVA glue or clear nail varnish?
I'm just going to a friends for a party the night before halloween, so we will probably be too tired to go out the next day!

I thought about clear nail varnish too but it's probably easier to use mod podge or any other clear sealer with a bigger brush. ----- I'm not sure yet what I'll be on halloween. either beetlejuice make up tutorial, if I do this I'll buy a cheap white jacket next week and paint black stripes on it...or I'll paint it on a simple T-shirt. I have green spray paint for the hair. or a sugar skull face /dia de los muertos / sylvia ji make up something like this with a black lace dress, flowers in the hair ..I can't decide. They're so different but I love both! Probably I'll end up doing the beetlejuice look, it's easier.

Thanks for the advice! I never thought of clear nail varnish, but it would just use up too much, i think... the PVA glue was too sticky and started taking off the glitter, so I went for the mod podge and it worked perfect

My friends and I were going to be having a kind of partay {but just us being together really} with an Alice in Wonderland theme, so I was going to be the Queen of Hearts {yay!}, but I don't know if that's happening any more. I hope it does, I keep trying to organise people.

I have absolutely no inspiration for a costume this year. I have two offers to be a part of a group (boy, roommates - ahh awkward allegiences) but neither have plans.
OT BUT WOAH: I'm typing on my iPhone and I just realised that if you old down one key - such as 'n' - you get the option to select variations of the character: ń ñ ë æ. . . NEAT.
But my mother dressed her dog Morrissey up as a priest (geddit???) for this party at her work and some catholic got VERY offended and called her later and bitched her out saying that it was sacriledge to dress her dog up as a priest and that they were both going to hell (hah!). My mother went as a very convincing nun and the two of them won 'scarriest costume', however.

Allison, you should have said that your mum was a real nun and the dog was a human dressed up as a dog nun! And then would say YOUR ONE OF US ITS OK.
Also, the alice in wonderland party thing sounds awsome!

I was going to be Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz but decided that wouldn't be as good without a group being the Tin Man, Scarecrow and Lion with me. So I went to a costume store and looked around for inspiration and decided on a Sexified Mummy. Now I need gauze or sheets and some sort of way to wrap them around and attach them to a dress...
