In this thread you can post things you don't understand, and perhaps someone who does understand can explain.
I don't understand footless tights, they have all the weaknesses of tights without the benefits of trousers.

I don't get them either, what's the point? Hasn't the base been covered with trousers, leggings, and/or proper tights?
I don't understand the popularity of Sex And The City. People say it's empowering to women. How, exactly? Seriously, how, I'm not using it as a criticism, I merely can't see how. Like Johnny Vegas said, they're all moaning about how they can't find love, and then they're taking it up the arse. It's trite and it's infuriating - why are 4 posh, snobby, rich women who sleep around 'likeable'?
This just sounds like a 'things I don't like' post, but I genuinely can't see why it's popular. It does my head in.

Our school always required ballet shoes and jazz shoes with bare feet so the teachers could see your foot muscles... so that's when we wore footless tights. I don't understand why personnes wear them in public, though. I also don't understand completing the square. Gods of Maths, elucidate!

Thinking and television don't really go hand in hand. That's my theory anyway

God, I've been waiting for this thread to happen but would've felt a bit of a prat to make it...
1) Why do boys sometimes walk around with their hands in their trousers? 2) Apparently getting kicked in the balls is more painful than childbirth...?

Entertainment, fine, that's acceptable, but for it to consider itself (or for other people to consider it) the seminal works on modern feminism is just baffling. Because no it isn't. It's glossy, arrogant crap.

I personally enjoy footless tights. I think the point is, other than wearing flip flops with them, is that they come in a variety of lengths. Would you like to look like a tough biker in your new ragged demin mini skirt? THEN THE BIKER LENGTH TIGHTS ARE FOR YOU! Or perhaps you have a strange fear of things touching your ankles, but you don't own a Harley. THEN THE CAPRI TIGHTS ARE JUST WHAT YOU NEED! They also seem to come in more fun colors than regular tights do. Like polka dots and hearts and bunnies and fun shit like that. HOWEVER, I would like to point out that a friend of mine wore neon pink fishnet tights (non-footless) under black shorts to school today. They were amazing and her legs glowed as she walked through the hallways.
About that whole Sex and the City thing... I never knew it was supposed to "empower women." I thought it was just meant for mindless entertainment. I don't see the whole empowerment thing either, but whatever. I don't really understand the fascination with Desperate Housewives either.
The major thing I don't understand at the moment is WHY all of my friends liked Across the Universe so much. IT REALLY WASN'T THAT GOOD AT ALL. "ALL YOU NEED IS LOVE" IS NOT THAT UPLIFTING, ESPECIALLY IN THIS CONTEXT OF "HEY, LET'S DO A TON OF LSD, PROTEST THE WAR A LOT, MAKE OUT A LOT, THEN GET INTO ARGUMENTS WITH ONE ANOTHER WHILE SINGING 'YOU SAY YOU WANT A REVOLUTIOOOON, WELLL, YA KNOOOW?', AND THEN THROW STRAWBERRIES ALL OVER THE PLACE IN FITS OF RAGE, AND THEN HAVE A FREE CONCERT ON THE ROOF TOP." Seriously, my one friend spent her money THREE TIMES on seeing this in the theatre. Three times. Why?! Why?! I've been so frusterated over this.

I also don't understand completing the square. Gods of Maths, elucidate! Well, what don't you understand? The method, or is there a specific problem you're working on? Because I looked it up on Wikipedia to remind myself of what it is, and it doesn't look all that difficult... What's confusing you?

1) Why do boys sometimes walk around with their hands in their trousers? 2) Apparently getting kicked in the balls is more painful than childbirth...? 1) Because they are cold. Or because they don't want to risk the chance of having to shake someone's hand. 2) I have experienced neither. But if so, GOOD.

I think I'm dumber because of it.

doesn't it depend on exactly what you're studying? seems to me that if you have atleast some hours a week in school doing something you really like, the other subjects gets more bearable
