Oh, it really had to be done.
Is anyone going to watch tonight? I am very excited, for it is Maxxies long-deserved episode starting off the new series. He is the best character.

is Skins actually as "arty" as the adverts seem to make it out to be? i always see the adverts and think "that looks interesting!" and then it's a Skins advert and i'm really disappointed for some reason

i like skins but also find it veryvery annoying. the advertising campaign and the general fans and the obviousness of some of it (the posh girls accents and trying to be ghetto etc) are irritating, but it's got...something. oh, and i love cassie.

Yes see its a program about trendy young people, me watching it would be like a member of the Klu Klux Klan watching The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air.

oh god skins is shiiiiiiiiiit. but addicting. its horrible, awful story, awful acting, awful characters. anyway, i've already watched the first episode on youtube.
no one here has even heard of it. its sort of strange, since its so huge in england. but i suppose since its not about rich people, or people becoming rich, americans aren't interested.

I have to admit, I do love Skins. I don't know why, but I do. Well, my excuse it that it's set in Bristol and it's fun to spot places.

Pathetically i watched about half of the first series, because my friend and me were adamant ADAMANT that it just had to pick up eventually it had all the elements there to be great but no never got better, and after glancing at the start of season two it still ain't gettin any better. shame.

I've never even seen Skins yet I loathe it with a passion, unfair? Hell yes. No, sounds about right. Despite the fact that I hate Skins, I did watch the first season in it's entirety. And buy the DVD. Because - despite all the horrendously naff things about it - there's potential for it to be a really good show, if they'd get rid of a few things and sort out some sort of plot. I'm very much against the idea of their 'Youth Contributors', because good writing should be about giving the reader what they need, not what they want. And because teenagers don't even know what they want, anyway, and will insist on a myriad of drug references that they've just looked up on Wikipedia, because they've never been near drugs or anyone who has done them. Also - and here, it's important to remember that none of these characters have jobs - no one's pocket money stretches to as much Es and whizz as theirs does. The writing is bloody awful - I find Maxxie particularly offensive, and wouldn't mind seeing Kenneth run over, because that joke isn't funny in the first place, particularly when stretched out into a useless character that they have pay lip service to because he was in all the bloody adverts - but there's something there that's very compelling. Namely, Cassie and Sid, but I have a soft spot for Michelle, despite the fact the actress can't act. I'd love for it to get better, but if they keep up the ridiculous marketing and Skins parties and chances for YOU to get involved, it'll stay the substandard Hollyoaks with trendier references until someone realises that no one is actually watching it and it gets cancelled. Cheerio, Michael. xxx

I hate and love it. Got a soft spot for a couple of the characters, and the whole absurdity of it, people actually going to raves in bombed out buildings and taking far more pills than anyone can handle over 3 days. It's so absurd I kinda like it.
Michelle is the worst actress. Simply the worst

I don't think this is true, I find that a lot of the drug referances and stuff are quite accurate from my experiance.
