i'm a little confused about why exactly crystal castles were in that episode of skins. oh well, i enjoyed it anyway. Attempt on the makers' parts to be trendy and yoof-orientated

I apologise for my MSN thumbs up thing by the way, to whoever was going to hurt me for it. The bracket Y thing should be universal to all forums, etc, if you ask me! Obviously I'm going to say that.
I found that episode pretty sheet to be honest, it was very nice having something not revolving around drugs and sex as such but I think the whole episode to kind of 'sad' stuff was a bit dull. Parts were good. I think skins has encouraged my brothers drug habbits, and after finding out his new dabblings I am going to ban from watching it. Mostly because it'll be fun.

Nothing wrong with a good drug habit.

I found that episode pretty sheet to be honest, it was very nice having something not revolving around drugs and sex as such but I think the whole episode to kind of 'sad' stuff was a bit dull. Parts were good. I think that's always going to be the problem with Skins; whenever they try for anything beyond 'wahey, drugs! Shagging! etc.', a good per centage of their audience are going to switch off. I'm not saying that's a bad thing, but there's a hell of a lot of potential there - some bloody good actors, and some fair-to-middling writing that could really be plied into something good - but they had to go and put that haridan over the top to make it culturally relevant. And I know, I know, juxtaposition and all that, but it was fucking stupid. Hate. Also, the bit where Sid found his Dad was a direct rip-off from the Buffy episode, 'The Body'. I'd be the first to admit that sometimes I see Buffy where really there's just life, but the shots were set up almost identically. I was waiting for Sid to do the 'Mom? Mom? Mommy?' line, too. The Scottish people were bloody awful, though. Ken, aye? Bugger off. Almost as bad as Cassie's BFFs, Colin and Justin, sleeping in fucking kilts. Jesus. I hope Glasgow City Council sues their collective asses for perpetuating gross and unecessary stereotypes and for producing some of the most godawful dribble in the name of comedy. Cheerio, Michael. xxx

Speaking of Capaldi, I don't suppose anyone knows where I can find "Local Hero" on DVD?

I wasn't a Buffy fan at all, but I came across that episode one day and that opening scene is so affecting and horrific. It made me go cold.

£10? Fuck that. Why would I pay that ammount for a film 25 years old?

Skins is awesome. For all it's gimmicky, horrible marketing, it's a really good show which allows me to love and hate in equal measure, which I am all about.
To be honest, I just wish I was as badass as Effie.
(although, message to casting director/writers: please have less posh arses in it. I really can't stand their fucking accents much longer)

i never thought that the skins cast sounded that posh. well, maybe michelle. and obviously that awful abbie girl who i wish had never been written in as she embodies almost everything i hate about skins. Everytime someone mentions the posh cast and their annoying accents i start worrying that because i haven't noticed, i quite possibly sound like that and i irritate everyone with my twittering voice.

i was more talking about the guy who was on last night who wanted to sex effie - pretty much 90% of the bit parts are all really posh. I'd say pretty much everyone on the show is quite posh, or at the very least extremely middle class; or maybe I'm just unaccustomed to southern english accents. or both.

SPOILERZ (although not really, since it's been properly announced by the makers of the show)
The entire cast is being dropped for the next series. There will be new people in series 3. Apparently the concept is to spend two series with each set of cast members and then move on. Are they confident the show will be running long enough to fully explore that? Like I've said, it will date within a few years, and unless they move with the times properly, it's not going to work.

I think it's a good thing, honestly. Keeps it fresh and I'm confident that the scriptwriters will be more than capable.
AND PLUS IT'LL BE LIKE TEACHERS EXCEPT WITHOUT THE HORRIBLE UNEXPLAINED ABSENCES!!
