Hi, I'm new here and, introductions having been made in the appropriate place ... ...I thought you might like to see my film of Patrick performing his cover/reworking of the X-Ray Spex song Identity at the LMHR carnival yesterday: www.youtube.com/watch?v=JvDMZA53QswIt is the full song with some nice hi-res close-ups of Patrick. Magic Position to follow soon. And, yes, the music in the background as Patrick introduces the song is The Good, The Bad & The Queen on the main stage.

Hey lucky6, that's a superb video, let us know when you've got magic position up there. I just wrote a review of both the event in general and Patrick's performance for my blog, with pictures. If you are bored have a look here (there's also a short review of wednesday's ghetto gig): jonathandean1982.blogspot.com/ I actually really agreed with what Patrick said about ignoring the BNP, I thought the whole spirit of the event was a bit misplaced. I didn't hear any homophobic comments duirng Patrick's set, but for some reason it doesn't surprise me that other people did!

Oh what a wickedy wick wick day! Considering how many tons of people were watching patrick, i was pretty close. About 4/5 lines of people away from the barrier. He came up to it at the end and sang and I was a bit too mesmerised to move. I was pretty much dying during Akala and wanted to move but my friend forced me to drink water and luckily the crowd cleared ever so slightly where we were for Patrick. I have some pics which i'll upload in a sec. It was so nice to meet all the forumers too! I'm so glad he wasn't drunk and MAN, he looked hot. Pics: Mine I only had one reasonably good one ^ so here are Esther's, since her's were better. Actually, all of them are pretty awful quality, ha. I also have some sound recordings but most of them are me wooing and blurred anecdotes.

I bloody enjoyed it! fucking agreed!! I got quite a few pictures & videos but the sound is awful, its just literally buzzing and then the odd lyric, and a LOT of me singing, which now when I listen back on, sounds awful XD I was right at the barrier, I couldn't believe how many people were crowd surfing & stuff! & I loved his Union Jack outfit When he took his belt off I was thinking Oh god he's only done one song & he's stripping off already! But I laughed when he took his top & trousers off to reveal that XD I thought it was a really good atmosphere when he was on, I also felt a bit uncomfortable when all those rap people were on getting everyone to shout Fuck the BNP! etc. However I felt bad not joining in as everyone else around me was & I'd probably looked like I supported them or something, I don't think I would have been to popular. I liked Natty and that man who was playing the flute & beatboxing, the one who shouted 'Love Racism!' accidentally, bless him. Overall I thought it was bloody great

You probably weren't, i zoomed in a LOT. I was waving a blue ribbon about but unfortunately I tried to lob it at Patrick but it got stuck on someone and fell to the floor Lol at crowd size:

Oh I loved yesterday. The day was spent with some of my favourite people who kept thanking me afterwards for advising them to come. Mostly, I loved the fact that my friend Ellie who is completely anti-Patrick, stayed and watched his set. When I saw her laughing and smiling afterwards I thought "Wow, is she a fan now?", but alas, she was not. She did compare him to "a 3 year old who's just outbursted with energy" and looking "as thin as a plank of wood". This morning we were talking about Vulture, which she didn't like:
Ellie: Well he did write it on a plane... Me: He did? Ellie: Yeah! Weren't you listening!?
But yeah, enough about people none of you know, I loved his set. I didn't even mind that it was short, I just loved the atmosphere which was so much better than the one on the first night of Shepherd's Bush. The sound was a bit rubbish but meh. I loved it.

maybe I misheard it but I thought he said something like that: it's nice to be back at Victoria Park because the last time I played here it was the Underage festival and it was terrible, the worst day of my life...

I think he was talking about Lovebox. Well, I know he was talking about Lovebox, but that sounds less polite.

I don't know, I wasn't there, but it was a few days after the "Mika is a twat" incident, so maybe he had a mob of angry fans after him...perhaps...that's what I'd like to think anyway.
Oh, and I find it difficult to follow even when it is my first language! I'm surprised I heard that!
