Ah, well. It would have been a big F-you to the fans if Voldiekins won and took over the world. Hahahahahah. Oh, why didn't she do that?

www.msnbc.msn.com/id/19959323/"If you found the epilogue of “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows” rather vague, then J.K. Rowling achieved her goal." still doesn't mean we have to like it Nä, jag menade inte det heller (No, I didn't mean that either)

Do you think so? It was set 19 years later... Or do you think the epilogue should have been longer? I'm thinking another four hundred pages would do it justice.

www.the-leaky-cauldron.org/2007/7/30/j-k-rowling-web-chat-transcriptIn case anyone hasn't seen it, JKR further eluidates everyone in chat form. (I knew Harry had mastered Death.) edit: Stephval: Is scorpius as misguided as his father, or has draco improved and taught his child(ren) better J.K. Rowling: Scorpius has a lot going against him, not least that name. However, I think Scorpius would be an improvement on his father, whom misfortune has sobered! Ha! <3

At least she admits it is a terrible name.
Koen Van Der Voort: Why is the scar on harrys forehead lightning shaped
J.K. Rowling: To be honest, because it’s a cool shape. I couldn’t have my hero sport a doughnut-shaped scar.
OH, HOW I WISH IT HAD BEEN DOUGHNUT SHAPED!

So... it took me ages because I like to fully digest books... but I finally finished just moments ago. I don't think the book should have been any different. I think it was perfect. However, I still feel utterly bereft now that the series is over. I think I need a new heart.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, HARRY. He's 27 today. And he lived so he did reach his birthday. (Yes, I totally did just wish happy birthday to a fictional character...)

27?? dang :S oh btw, why did harry and ginny wait so long before they had their first baby?

I assume they waited because they had to get back together.. And Ginny needed to finish school, and Harry had to do auror training, or something. And then plan a wedding. And then some marital bliss for awhile. Lots of emotional/psychological stress thrown in there. So, by the time they've done all that, they just may have been ready for babies.

So... it took me ages because I like to fully digest books... but I finally finished just moments ago. I don't think the book should have been any different. I think it was perfect. However, I still feel utterly bereft now that the series is over. I think I need a new heart. I agree, it was wonderful. I really really loved the ending - Harry mastering Death, Voldemort's defeat, and then the last line he tells Dumbledore's portrait with Ron and Hermione standing behind him - something like "I've had enough trouble in one lifetime" haha, excellent. And I thought the epilogue was cute actually, I liked that it wasn't overly-detailed. I do worry for the movie though, as Tesla said. They've done pretty well so far with the rest of them, and I think if they try hard enough they can pull off Half-Blood Prince pretty well too - but Deathly Hallows would be tough to capture all the right scenes and emotions and themes etc. in a 2 and a half hour movie. But I guess if the screenwriters are still going strong they'll try extra hard to make the last film worth it. Oh, I just need one question answered, though - how the hell did Draco have the Elder Wand all along before Harry won it from him?! I totally missed how that came to be.

You remember at the end of HBP when Harry and Dumbledore land on the Astronomy tower?? Well, while Dumbledore is petrifying Harry or whatever he does, Draco has the time he needs to disarm Dumbledore. Since Draco mastered Dumbledore, the Elder Wand transferred to him. And thus, he became the master of it, even if it wasn't in his physical possession.

OMG. I totally did not remember that. IT SHOULDA BEEN EXPLAINED IN DEATHLY HALLOWS, because I just got so entirely confused, and I was like "damn! And this part is so good too! Now I don't know what the hell just happened!" But thanks!

I thought it was explained in the book... Because I wouldn't have made that exact connection on my own. I think Harry babbled about it for awhile at one time. It was likely really confusing, so I can understand how you didn't pick up on it.

He babbled about it at the end, to Voldemort. I chuckled when I found out-- Malfoy was important for once, and nobody knew.
