I know, but... If I was Harry, I would not have named one of my kids after him, even if just a middle name. It was a lot for me to swallow.
Maybe this is because I absolutely detest Snape as a character myself...

I cried so little! I wanted to cry at EVERYONE'S DEATH but i only cried at Dobby's and somewhere else. The epilogue needed to be longer but i liked that it was happy. During the middle was actually SO depressing. I wanted to slit my wrists and kill Hermione. I liked the 'Snape is a goody and he sent the doe OMGEEEZ!' twist.
Agreed with the hilarity of Hedwigs death, i can imagine it going "eeeppp!!" and like being thrown out by Harry because it was a toy. LOL.
Neville's granny should BLATENTLY be played by a chavgran. Fit.
Edit: How can you hate Snape?! I loved his complexity.

What's wrong with happy endings? Nothing. I liked the epilogue. I thought we deserved a bit of sugar sweet cheese.

I wanted to slit my wrists and kill Hermione. In which order...?

I think the epilogue was so lacking - not least because it read like a bad fanfic - but because she never showed us what I think we needed to see; them rebuilding Hogwarts, who lived and died, the Malfoys paying their dues (because I'm so not coping with Lucius being the Big Bad and then being allowed to sit amongst all their survivors in the Great Hall at the end; 'oh, crumbs! I killed most of your friends and relatives! Sorry, and all that'). Also, Albus Severus? What. Ever.

Edit2: NOT MY DAUGHTER, YOU BITCH!! ahh that made me squeek. it was all so tense and i was reading along and turned the page and BITCH jumped out at me and i was like eeep! mrs _weasley_! you badass! i think the severus part was great. and that harry named his son albus severus showed how _____ (can't htink of the right word, i'm terrible with adjs) harry was/grew to be. besides, you ahve to remember this is the wizarding world and _every_one has strange names. i think the name albus is cute. but fuck man it really made me think about death and mortality etc etc etc.

Everyone keeps citing the Mrs. Weasley incident.. I didn't like it that much, I dunno. I really hated Mrs. Weasley in the beginning of the book. What with her being all vicious and things.

ALSO: Snape was basically the best thing in it apart from the twinzzzz.

Did we though? I never sensed a connection until the movies....But I guess I like them together. But yeah, I hope James and Lily's middle names are Molly and Arthur...it would only be proper. Poor Albus Severus.
I think she needs to release another book called "What Happened To Who."
Also, EFF YOU JK ROWLING!! For killing Lupin. WHYYYYYY?!?!

I came just to say mostly what Michael just said. You know... After 7 books you get an epilogue. Personally, when I read the words EPILOGUE and 19 YEARS LATER, I was so excited and there was a huuuuge amount of things I was expecting to read. And then I get to read of A) how none of the lot has any sense in naming their kids, B) Draco just... wanders free like he was never a death eater in the first place and C) Potter's scar doesn't hurt any more. I mean, blimey, I'm happy he's not in pain but HELLO ROWLING? ARE YOU THERE, did you write this after those books? Did you not, even for a second consider that for example me, Lotta Tenhunen from eastern Finland might want to know what actually happened after the war? Yeah, there was A WAR, you know, and I always thought it tends to take time to make a society to recover after one. what was going on in the politics? Who ruled and in what manner? Chrissakes there was a military government and corruption and battles and victims and and... and then you say "all was well". Bahh, me not happy. She left so many plot holes She tied a whole lot too, I admit, maybe more then I thought she'd be able to. Didn't anyone else keep thinking there was (again) awfully many Lord-of-the-Ring-ish aspects? Carrying the locket that affected the persons mood who was carrying it, Albus being as Gandalf as you can without actually being him etc. Well. I just loved Snape. So much Snape-love! And the bit about him was the only good sentence in the epilogue. big laughs and hijinks, made me cry.

But yeah, I hope James and Lily's middle names are Molly and Arthur...it would only be proper. Awww, little James Molly Potter and Lily Arthur Potter. So cute. <33 I think, though it disappointed me too, that she left the whole rebuilding after the war out of the book because that's what FANDOM is for! Now, there can be a million different fanfics and theories and essays and RPGs out there about what the world was like and how things were accomplished. Some things can be left to the imagination, after all.

I like how people started shipping Grindelwald and Dumbledore, like, the day the book came out. It makes me smile.

I felt a lot of the time there really wasn't enough explanation for things and JK just got sloppy. ie, first harry just assumes that the doe was not dangerous when everything before turned bad, and then he randomly says he just knows that the ring was hidden in the snitch.
Oh, and so Snape loved Harry then? It seemed everyone just kept saying they loved everyone else in the book haha
I really really liked it though. This is simply me being sad because it's over.

Hahaha. Grindelwald/Dumbledore and Albus Severus/Scorpius. OTPs, you know.
Though, mine will always be James/Lily. THE SIBLINGS. No, I'm just kidding. See, look what she's done to my ship. I will always feel the need to reiterate that no, these are not the SIBLINGS. And yet, still...

And yet, still... Nothing like a bit of incest in the Harry Potter community; I'm sure if someone made a family tree based on that epilogue, there'd be some effed up ess going on somewhere along the line. True. Fandom incest broke livejournal a bit back.. Sort of. Oh, the drama.
Well, I don't know about them being messed up so much, but have you looked at the Black Family Tree? Oh, purebloods. You crazy kids.
