I can't imagine George without Fred. The thought of one of them living on after the other seems so unnatural.

I can't imagine George without Fred. The thought of one of them living on after the other seems so unnatural. Absolutely; that upset me too, but then I have ten year old identical twin nephews and grown up twins who are friends, and they're just so close I can't imagine one of them without the other.

So, you know what I wonder about almost all fantasy books? Why on earth is "bread and cheese" the staple food?! I swear the Trio were down on their luck for food and obtained that once. And it bothered me like.. I cannot imagine bread and cheese going so wonderfully together. And it's there in almost every fantasy series! It's like all anyone ever eats is bread and cheese!
Also, at one point at the end, someone (Voldemort? Harry?) kept saying "Accident!" and I kept thinking "...and Emergency!" because I am a huge loser.

james, lily and albus severus... how come ONE kid got so freakishly unlucky with names?
the thing that bothered me aboutt he "19 years later" bit was that we never find otu what happens to weasley's wizard wheezes. i want george to become a millionaire. i'd kind of guessed harry was the seventh horcrux a long time ago. and then 3/4 of the way in worked out he would be resurrected by the deathly hallwos so the ending wasn;t sucha surprise as it could've been. i liked the book though. i think i might have to read the first one again sometime.

I've always hated the "Harry is a Horcrux" theory. But I liked how she did it a lot better than what I had thought previously. I don't think he was resurrected by the Deathly Hallows was he? He never had them all together. It was more to do with his mother's protection, I thought.

i can;t rememebr if i heard it as a theory, it's just the whole "voldemort's split his soul up" and it wa snever a secret that rthere was a bit of voldemort's soul inside harry./ hence when they were destorying the horcruxes because of the pieces of soul, harry had to go too
and i was always under the impression that harry came back because all the hallows were there and he died without fear of death? i don't know. maybe on second reading i'll work it out properly

I like the bit at the end when it was revealed Harry is the Face Of Boe.

Yeah, that was my favourite part too. Oh, that Face of Boe, so tricky.

He never had them all together. It was more to do with his mother's protection, I thought. I don't think he was resurrected by the Hallows specifically (or maybe he was, I've decided not to examine it too closely) but he did have all the Hallows. He had the cloak, stone, and was the master of the Elder wand because he'd taken Malfoy's wand. It's just more subtle than Dumbledore saying, oh hey Harry how about those Hallows, I sure am glad you mastered them all.

He dropped the stone before he went to go actually face Voldemort, though. So it wasn't really on his person... Thus, why I did not think he came back via the Hallows.

but they were all present at his death or maybe it was a personal choice thing. well either way, it's full of meaning and wisdom

Am I the only one that really liked the "nineteen years later" bit? Yes, twas quite cheesy, but twas lovely, a nice contrast to the death and general miserableness that was about near the end of the book.
I'd have been a bit disappointed with a sad ending, really
Although yes, the epilogue could have been a bit longer
Admittedly, she might as well have finished it with "and they all lived happily ever after"
Let's just hope she doesn't write another one and milk it...

I think she could have used the epilogue to clear a few more things up, rather than everyone just standing around on the platform parading their cheesy names. But I didn’t mind it.

i did like the epilogue just...not much. they should've had different names and it should've been longer.

But ALBUS SEVERUS is the best name ever.
I mean, really? I get that there was a lot of time between the end of the book and when little Albus was born... but he can't have just... changed his opinion of Snape SO drastically in all that time JUST because Snape happened to love his mother?? I mean, the man was still a total bastard to him. That seemed so... absurd to me.

But Snape sacrified his whole life to bring down Voldemort to venge Lily's death.
And if clever little Harry reminded Snape of smartarse James, the man who he thought had stolen Lily from him wouldn't it only be natural for Snape not to like him?
