I discovered Patrick around December 2009, on Last.fm, in the IAMX similar artist. I first listenned to Damaris, and then to Hard Times, and felt completly in love with his music. <3

Back in the days I used to lurk a Placebo forum and those members talked a lot about someone named Patrick Wolf. So I decided to try some of his music on youtube - except 'The Magic Position' I thought everything was quite boring (I know! But I'm horrible, new music always sounds boring to me). I tried it a few times because his name also appeared on my Livejournal communities all the time so I knew it must be someting good... but yeah it didn't really get me. After I heard he would come to Lowlands I was like OK I'M GOING TO UNDERSTAND THIS MUSIC. So I did. Slowly but well, it got me hooked. (Also did his performance on Lowlands, I was so hypnotised i didn't even notice that all my friends left during the second song.)

^'Boring' ... When I was first getting into Patrick, Interestingly 'Magic Position' was the one that never really did it for me for a long time. In fact most of that album... I was only interested in the 'darker' songs...Now though I adore it all

I'm sorry! I just didn't get it. It's funny you didn't fall for TMP immediately, in my idea, it's one of his 'easiest' songs. Even my mum likes it. I still love it, through the album is not my favorite one. I can't really remember which songs I started with... I know that Tristan the first song was I became obsessed with. The rest I listened to befor I bought The Bachelor were probably singles.

^ Haha, no need to apologise Yeah I dunno I downloaded all his singles first and then most of the songs from 'Wind in the Wires' and also 'To the Lighthouse' got stuck on repeat so it was a long time before I let anything else in

My intro to Patrick was seeing the video for Accident & Emergency on a music channel, his energy and uniqueness caught me straight away and i hunted out his back catalogue on youtube, and from that point on I was hooked, very few if any artists ahve grabbed me like that befor or since

I really only discovered his music by pure chance. Visiting lastfm for the first time, searching for music similar to Björk, clicking my way through rather weird suggestions (well that's what I thought). Only one track caught my attention and I got back to it, listened again, searched youtube for more of his songs and have been in love with his music ever since .... which isn't that long, having only discovered him last year. I guess the first song I've ever heard was from Lycanthrophy or Wind in the Wires, rather the later, it must have been a rather folky one, maybe Teignmouth or Wind in the Wires ... or maybe even the Wolf Song. I then made my way almost chronologically through his records and was suprised by the great variety of it. Although it took me some time to get used to The Bachelor (the album), which I absolutly adore now. It's always a bit challenging to listen to his upcoming work, because it's never the thing you've expected, but I always end up loving it. Best musician I've heard for years, a real revelation!

Actually I found 'The Libertine' by accident while browsing some message board, some small talk about Wind in Wires being released. At first I thought it was terrible -- HOW WRONG WAS I, it's one of my favourite songs right now! But later I moved to Tristan, and I fell in love, and still am.

I was looking through some music on last fm, I never actually listen to anyone I find on there but Patrick's profile on lastfm kept coming up and his pictures looked so different and just amazing I went on youtube and listened to Tristan, and my jaw just dropped ! I was like wow, I've never heard anything like it ! Then I went and listened to Lycanthropy (on repeat, for ages =)) and then I just became obsessed and here I am It was around 2007 ^^

I stumbled across The Libertine after it was posted on a different messageboard, and thought I might as well listen to it as it was posted by my friend who has similar taste in music. I think I got to the first line of vocals before I basically just fell in love with it <3 I had it on repeat for about an hour before I went looking for other songs by him, I think the first one I found was Tristan which I thought was amazing, then just went though everything available on YouTube to find out if the rest of his stuff was any good (and obviously decided that it was indeed very good)

I had a friend who liked his music and would mention him on her blog every now and then, but I never heard any of his work until I decided to update to the then newest version of Winamp some time in 2007. One of the download options was to get the software plus a free song, which happened to be TMP by Patrick 8) I listened to it and was like, okay hkfgkhgf I need everything by this guy.

it's hard to remember exactly how I was introduced to pw, it seems like so many years ago. I'd guess it was at the time of wind in the wires, since some of the people I followed at last fm/myspace kept referring to paris, overture and tristan. I remember being almost terrified of songs such as bloodbeat and the childcatcher - I couldn't really understand why he had to destroy the beauty of the music by being so... out of the ordinary. but hey, isn't that part of his charm?

Humm how I discovered Patrick? Well I guess I always knew about him as an artist, meaning I knew his name and I knew he was a musician... One day read a news about him and how he had threw stuff on stage in a gig in Germany if not mistaken. I liked it, especially because I thought he was completely right! So that made me curious to listen more, plus I was in a period of looking for new stuff to listen to. And I liked him! But what made my interest grow more was recently when I went to the Bloosmbury gig in London <3 That one was so amazing, and mostly he made the gig by being so nice and funny!
I guess thats pretty much how I got into Patrick...

From a blog I read called Towleroad.
I'm now a huge fan. All I seem to listen to these days is The Magic Position. It's the first album I bought from his collection. I still need to buy the rest. I did just order a physical copy of Lupercalia from his web site tho. I'm in the US and there is no release date here that I know of. I can't remember the last time I paid $22 for a physical CD (that's with shipping). I mostly buy my music on Amazon MP3 or iTunes. But I simply couldn't wait to get my hands on a copy of the new material.
