Well it was a saturday morning and I was watching the best aussie music show; Rage, and the new videos were playing and this one called 'Hard Times.' I though the song was stupid the first time I head it but then every week it would come on and eventually I was like this is ok. I was going to get the song, but I kinda forgot. Then a few months later it was on Tom Kaulitz's, of Tokio Hotel's blog and I was like OMG, I remember this, and I don't know, I must have subconsciously fell in love

I saw him in one of the NME polls... I believe I was there to vote for Matt Bellamy of Muse for Best Dressed or Worst Dressed (or perhaps both..). I did not really check his music out though, just thought that he had quite an interesting (not in a bad way) dress sense... was the green and blue dinosaur suit thingy haha.. Thereafter I'm not sure why I suddenly remembered Patrick, but I went to search for some of his songs and was hooked

We got to discussing different musical artists on a book review board I belong to, and one of the authors is a Patrick fan. I spent much of an entire weekend on iTunes and Youtube (and ultimately this board) downloading his music and discovering loads about Patrick. He had me hooked pretty much immediately.

actually, I read an article in a magazine about Owen Pallett and looked him up on youtube. liked his music and through Owen found out about Patrick wolf on youtube (a video where they were doing a concert together) and loved patrick's music. Hard to say who i like more, owen or patrick, since they are very similar and I liked them at about the same time .....that was a long explaination...

Unfortunately, Patrick isn't well-known in my country. I found him on the internet, I guess, and I was fascinated by his style. Then I started to listening to his songs and....there was everything I was looking for in the music. So I got even more fascinated and I wanted to hear more and more.

Through him being in NME's 2009 50 Cool List in June 2009. thought he looked interesting so went on Wikipedia or somewhere to see what his singles were and downloaded 'To The Lighthouse', 'Tristan', 'The Libertine' 'The Magic Position' 'Hard Times' and 'Vulture' (As when I want to get into a new artist I generally check out their singles first) About a week later I bought 'The Bachelor' as it was the only CD of his available in HMV + either ordered/bought online the other 3. The rest is history...

I was browsing around on bleep.com, digging for some new gems as i find myself doing late at night. and the name "a boy like me" caught my eye, so i clicked it on, and here come's this voice and this man for me to inevitably adore. this was between wind in the wires and magic position. His albums have spent a very long time on heavy rotation for me. The first 3 much more so than the latest one.

edit: wait, no scratch that.
I first found out about him because The Magic Position was on the soundtrack of Were the World Mine and I loved it and never looked for more of his stuff for some reason? But then later someone on the internet was like "I LOVE PATRICK WOLF" and I thought the name sounded familiar, so I looked him up and well, here we are now. Tied for most played artist on everything I own that plays music.

It was by chance that I stumbled upon Patrick! A couple years ago, a friend of mine was writing a book, and one of the characters in her book was called Tristan. I don't really recall why, but I was on YouTube with her and we typed in Tristan; perhaps just to see what showed up! Anyway, I'm sure you can guess what I found. After I hear "Tristan" I absolutely fell in love with Mr. Wolf and have been hooked ever since!

I remember that my sister recommended The Magic Position -album to me some years ago since I liked Owen Pallett very much. I think I liked the album. I wasn't thrilled, but I liked it nevertheless.
Then after some time I was watching Owen Pallett's (Well, Final Fantasy's) performance and there was Patrick Wolf playing with him. He impressed me with his talent and style! Then I found the album "Wind in the Wires". I was on a long journey by train when I first listened to the album and it was just so surreal... I couldn't believe how incredible the album was!
I also remembered the album my sister had recommended and started to love it as well. And here I am now, after a few years.

I found out about him last year (kinda late, I know) when I randomly downloaded a Sherlock fanmix. I didn't like the song that came with the mix at all and I thought he wasn't good, but I changed my opinion last December when I first heard Damaris. Then I happened to google him and found out that he's got many other good songs too. : D

years ago a friend made me a mixtape and tristan was on it. since that i got the albums and really liked the music, but you know, like you follow artists on some everyday basis, not getting too involved with what they're actually doing and their fans and stuff...only recently it really hit me, i don't know how and why but i'm not complaining

EDIT: Have been watching Patrick's Music video's a lot the last couple of day's and recall being slightly intimidated by ''Bachelor-Era'' Patrick in the 'Vulture' + 'Hard Times' video's, in spite of adoring the music, they were the very first video's of his I saw hehe....I'm sure any new fans watching the video to ''The City'' would have a much more pleasant introduction to PW

^depending on their likes ... i'm not sure the city video would have caught my eye if it had been my first introduction to the music (and i adore the song and colours in general, but ... i'm just talking myself into kind of a hole here aren't i? )

My son Rory use to see Patrick around where we live and he use to mention to me that I should give Patrick a listen, but I never got round to it,well that is till I saw him supporting Arcade Fire at Brixton Academy 14 March 2007. He was fantastic and I had heeded that advise and I may have seen him earlier. farm1.static.flickr.com/203/448820728_ff1998e37a_z.jpg?zz=1Patrick Wolf : Brixton Academy 14 March 2007

^depending on their likes ... i'm not sure the city video would have caught my eye if it had been my first introduction to the music (and i adore the song and colours in general, but ... i'm just talking myself into kind of a hole here aren't i? ) Yeah I think I'd agree if someone said you must listen to this artist Patrick Wolf and only played 'The City' ... I think I'd like it but wouldn't be in the ''OMG I NEED to know more'' frame of mind straight away, maybe I'm wrong...It's hard to imagine I guess seeing as I am so familiar with his older ''darker'' music ... But I do adore 'The City' it's just not THE song I'd choose to introduce a non wolfie....although in saying that my friend I brought with me to see him in Dublin really only knew 'The City' and 'Damaris' from me playing them and came out OBSESSED with like 'Together', 'The Magic Position' etc So I guess it could go the other way but I am happy I discovered Patrick, how and when I did

^it always depends on the people i have some friends i couldn't really play lycanthropy to, they wouldn't even listen. but i might be luckier with the city, as it's pop-ier and therefore matches their overall tastes more. with other friends, it's the complete opposite. and the rest is just fed up with me trying to force my favorite music on them

^ Exactly! Everytime I tried to 'force' Patrick's music on other's he never really caught on but now with 'The City' they're mostly obsessed so who knows
