NME TV played The Magic Positon and I just turned to my mum and said 'this is the greatest thing I have ever heard in my life'.

My sister was constantly singing To The Lighthouse and I thought that his music was horrible . Until she showed me a video of him performing Souvenirs and let me listen to Penzance. I was completely sold since then.

It was a rainy November afternoon...I was in my favorite bookshop and I accidentally glanced to the person beside me.
He held a magazine and my eyes were caught to a beautiful image in the magazine of a redhead strongly yet subtly looking at me; his name in bold letters written at the start of the article: PATRICK WOLF.
Since that soft captivation, I've been hunting for Wolf. I didn't know that he was a musician, it was just at the moment I saw that strong visual presence, I quickly knew he'd be some kind of eccentric individual, the kind of artiste, I've been searching for.
I've known so many musicians / artists wanting to be different, but only few have been truly born with that difference. This Wolf is one of those.
Some artists would have to paint themselves to stand out, some would act strangely but there is a classification of persons so individual and specific, that they can't just belong to the crowd. They're sometimes called with names but that natural instinct of difference is just there and to show and pour that all out to the world is just the perfect way for them to live.

I met him for the first time like in 2007. I don't know how I endep up finding Bluebells video in youtube. How ever, I didn't love him at that moment. Then, this year (2009), I had to make an essay for french class. The subject was "Tristan and Isolde", so we had to kinda search how it was represented in films, or music, etc. So, I searched in youtube to know if I could find some songs about Tristan and Isolde, and, when I did it, Patrick appeared with "Tristan" and I liked the song sooooo much that I instantly loved him. Then I remembered that he was the same guy from Blubells. I started to search more for his music and so. He was so amazingly unique in every aspect... The magic, I felt so *_* enchanted... (don't know if I said it right, I hope you know what I mean). So, I loved him more and more and more. And that's how I found out about Patrick .

I'm from Spain so it's quite hard to get to know him! Thanks to the internet!!!
I'm a Last.fm user [http://www.lastfm.es/user/mayith] and a neighbour of mine at this web recommended me Patrick. I started listening "The Magic Position" and I think I felt in love with him! After that, I had to order all of his records in a shop (which is supposed to be a big one) to get them...

Like many, first heard him with The Magic Position. Remember watching a 'Making the Video' on E4 (I really miss E4 music ), and remember thinking he seemed a nice enough guy. However, really didn't get into him until I started chatting to someone on last.fm and highly recommended him.

I was kind of hard to charm...or something. I first heard ''The magic position'' and I thought that it was ok, but noting more than that. Then I heard ''ghost song'' och ''land end''....still nothing.... Then, like a year later I heard ''Paris''...and after a few times of listening I was caught and kind of in love.... now I have buildt up a sort of obsession

His name was dropped a lot on the websites I'm on, but I never really cared actually. When someone recommended it to me I tried it out, but I only liked the magic position, which I thought was really sweet but I didn't like his other music, I thought it was boring. When I heard he would perform at Lowlands, I was like 'ok let's get to know his music better' and then I discovered Patrick Wolf is a fucking genius.

In Germany no Patrick Wolf videos are shown. I found about Patrick due to a friend from Berlin who said, "hey he's making cool music. YOu should listen to it." It took me 1,5 years to finally make the first step, because I was really puzzled the way he dresses. So three months ago, in the beginning of August I checked out his music (The Magic Position was the first video I watched) and suddenly fell in love with his music. Within 2 weeks I bought all his albums and locked myself in my room (I had my summer holidays) and listened to his music only. Today, I'm going to see him in Nuremberg. I'm really exited to get to see him live. ;D

I got my first CD player for Christmas 2003 with a few of the most obscure and seemingly randomly chosen CDs that my mother had picked...Lycanthropy was one of them. (Interesting coincidences...another was Shakira's 'Laundry Service' and 'Vespertine' by Bjork.) So yes. LOVELOVELOVE in reaction to Lycanthropy. I can never decide which I like better out of Lycanthropy and Wind in the Wires. (I just read that someone got played TMP to make them feel happy...I did that to someone the other day...although their reaction was more along the lines of 'dear god please kill me, I never want to hear this music again ever.')

Someone told me about him on a message board in 2005 and then I downloaded Lycanthropy and Wind in the Wires. A few months later I saw him on Lowlands festival and I loved it and bought both albums.

Truthfully, I saw the Wind In The Wires video at a time when I was questioning my sexuality and I think it pushed me over. On third viewing, I noticed that the music was good too so went out and got The Magic Position which had just been released. Aside from the odd track, I really didn't like it so I put it aside for a while.
Then, a year or so later, a friend got me Lycanthropy on my birthday and I gave it a play. I was amazed, and replaying The Magic Position I loved it, my tastes having broadened somewhat over this year. Finally I got around to getting the Wind In The Wires album, having been entranced by the song. I think I did this backwards.

I heard one song (either wind in the wires or Teignmouth can't really remember) on a radio some year ago, searched the internet, bought WITW and then the other albums.
