Seriously, awesome awesome song this is the important point of this here thread.

No, I agree. The erm-face just means... cripes, that song makes me hate whatever cruel God didn't give us all a Patrick to write songs for us.

is the cd version wickedly better than the podcast version?

i like the album version a lot.. but its not that sexy..... it would be if it was sung by the old dark and broody patrick in a low voice.. but the new ginge glitter patrick - not likely..
its a bit jazz barish for my liking.. although the addition of the bass is ace..
and i like the little noises that his organ make (is that the background noise)
EDIT: i love it.. the bit when he stops singing and starts speaking is so (i'd never thought i'd say this about patrick) fit..

For some fucking surreal reason the chord changes remind me of Arab Strap.
My favourite song on MP, no doubt.

its a bit jazz barish for my liking.. although the addition of the bass is ace.. I can safely say that, tucked inbetween the old standards and 'whacky' covers of songs from Pet Sounds, 'Augustine' would stick out like a sore thumb at any of the jazz bars I've ever been to. A sore thumb with glittery nail polish on it, at that... I'd say that this song is definately the closest thing to Wind in the Wires Patrick on the new album. It's a beautiful song, but not one of my favourites. Cheerio, Michael. xxx

C'mon even Michael Bush has given in! is that peer pressure i sense?!

c'mon I made Seb changed his name to Bell End Sebastian.
I'm CLEARLY the king of peer pressure!
We had an analogy going that I was like the serpent in the garden of Eden tempting people to the forbidden fruit. But then it was pointed out Seb helped me find the album, so I'm more like Eve, histories first Femme Fatal/wanton floozie!
In reality though, this album is utterly awesome and exciting I'm impatient for the world to hear it.

this my favorite song on the album. i can just listen to it on repeat forever. i do wish he had sung it a little lower but :[ that is all right. it's gorgeous and a needed break (in my opinion) from all the glitter of this record.
