Parenthetical Girls Entanglementsrapidshare.com/files/147703941/Parenthetical_Girls_-_Entanglements.zip.html"An orchestral song cycle of grand sonic ambition, Entanglements is an eleven-song, linear narrative of ascendancy, adolescent sexuality, quantum mechanics, consent, and other moral ambiguities - all set to an elaborately orchestrated olio of Modern Classical and timeworn, traditional American pop forms. Borrowing from the string-swept sentimentality of unlikely pop-ulists like Van Dyke Parks, Scott Walker, Jack Nitzsche, and Burt Bacharach, Entanglements draws colorful lines across the expanse between these orchestral pop antiquities and the more formidable strains of Modern Classical composers - its hues distantly reminiscent of names like Krzysztof Penderecki, Philip Glass, and Gavin Bryars. The result - as blended with Parenthetical Girls' already messily dripping palette - is an unsettlingly relentless emotional offensive; a gasping, restless confluence of cerebral and sentimental disparities, bound for their mutual allegiance to the uncannily timeless soundtrack that engulfs them both." (edited because my description was just too sucky)

So, not exactly the most exciting post in this thread... But, I did an hours worth of (mostly) improvised ambient/electronica for a friend's video project, last winter, and I figured I might as well put it out there, if anyone's interested. Hey guys, I found this a couple day ago, and I figured some of you on here might enjoy it. it's "Dance Party in the Balkans" by Alaska in Winter. It's sort of Beirut-esque (Zach Condon actually shows up on one or two of the tracks), though it's got more of an electronic feel to it. Emotionally speaking, it's pretty resolutely melancholic, but that may be your cup of tea. Anyways, if you like it, I can post their second album 'Holiday,' which is a bit more electro-oriented. www.mediafire.com/?dtmwkjy0mm5

"Long a popular fixture of the Portland music landscape, Loch Lomond effortlessly combines their symphonic nature with chamber-pop melodies. The six to nine performers orchestrate instruments to provoke a visceral experience that is both raw and emotional, weaving the distinct use of mandolin, theremin and saw along with the traditional indie instrumentation." quoth last.fm. They opened for the Decemberists during the fall tour and were very fantastic. Loch Lomond - Paper Thin Walls

I have to say that I do like the sound of that
---
After one song or so I have to say that these guys sure know how to play fast. The singing is not my cup of tea though, that's for sure. I'm not a fan of all the kooky make-up and fascination with death and stuff either. I guess I am a bit too squeamish and sissy.
---
After most of the album I can say that I quite dig the guitars.

Potential curveball coming! Does anyone have a single by a guy called Mark Summers called 'Summers Magic'. It was essentially a Magic Roundabout remix. Released in 1990, on Vinyl. I've looked all over the place, and I can't find a digital copy. The first track is on YouTube so I might just rip that, but I wouldn't mind the whole single. The track listing is: 1. Summers Magic 2. Summers Magic (Uncut) 3. 5p like a Macro 4. Party Children. If you have or can find any part of this, I will love you forever! xox gb
