Tristan is such a great song. If it is second single and managed some airplay then it will be HUGE.
It also could have been right at home on Lycanthropy.

It sounds like Duran Duran at a Dungeons and Dragons convention.. you might not think this sounds like a good thing, but I do!

Tristan is a great song, although theres one bit at 1.44 where I keep expecting it to go "I'm a material girl, and I live in a material world..." but it doesn't... ah well. (Its only for a second)

I didn't think that it fit well, actually.
Maybe that's because I have not heard Lycanthropy yet, but I thought Tristan was too vibrant and loud. Wind in the Wires is a reflective CD, about Wolf 'finding his place in the world.' I don't think that tristan fit well with that theme.
Alone, sure, it was fine. But together? I am not so sure.

I on the other hand, found it to fit in very well. I think all songs fit together like one long. I love this album.

(Its only for a second) I would pay good money for someone to shout this at one of his shows, it might ruin the song but it would be oh so hilarious for the rest of us. It's like the start of the Hope of the States song Bonfires, the introduction sounds like the song " Hey Mickey, you're so fine, you're so fine you blow my mind" If you catch Sam in the right mood (i.e. drunk) he might even sing it for you instead of the first line.

I don't think Tristan sticks out of the album at all. Its part of the darker second half, after Apparition. This Weather is probably the darkest song on the album, then there's Jacob's Ladder, which has lots of noise and feedback, and Tristan follows on from that well I think. The Towans is also very dark, but then Lands End is one of the lightest tracks on the album...

Um... no...... I don't quite follow you. I think my answer would be no, but I don't really see why you're asking.

I don't wish to sound rude, but is the world just a palette of greys to you? what about the other colours? I am honestly intrigued. I don't think he means 'dark' literally. And I feel that I should point out that light and dark can refer to colours as well as greys.

Its allready happened! I was at a concert where they played a couple of bars of "Hey Mickey" then kicked into bonfires... if someone knows the score on sharing ill put the MP3 up, its good quality for live recording (and a class song to boot.) By the way I think Tristan is immense, a bit of Athurian(?) mythology can only improve a song.
