I have long thought that the intro to Tristan sounds like the intro to The red shoes by Kate Bush... just played both this morning and can really see it now, she even mentions pigeons on the next track ha! Someone else I know reckons he can hear the look of love by ABC half way through ... anyone else hear this ?!

Yes, I can hear Look Of Love. In fact, I was going to mix Tristan, Look Of Love and Copacabana together, but I haven't got around to it yet.

I love the fact that he wrote this song in five minutes on a train.

I can only repeat the others, that Tristan is a great song! (Keane is a good band too I love this song, especially after reading, that it was written in five minutes on a train, I didn't know it. ;D And I adore Patrick's voice, yes, as you wrote: creepy and sexy!

this thread is very very old. but I feel I must resurrect it, as the spirit of Tristan has invaded my ipod and killed it. it just stopped 30 seconds before the end of Tristan and now the screen has frozen and it is broken. does anyone know how to exorcise the spirit of Tristan?

mmmmmm Tristan must be the sexiest sogn ever written. *shivers* it's so passionate! gotta love the lyrics aswell. especially the "sorrow by name and sorrow by nature" part cause sorrow by name = Tristan = triste = sad en Francais. that's pretty damn clever! but the lyrics overall... ah. I've sometimes tried to quote the song in signatures and so on but I've never been able to decide which lines should I use and I end up typing the whole song haha.

I distinctly remember the Tristan and Isolde movie being really, really bad. Tristan is undoubtedly the best patrick wolf song to see live.
hubschraubia, your signature is love.
