I like it! I must admit - I was a bit afraid after reading the PopJustice Review... But I like it - a lot! I'm really excited for the album

It's not a favourite, but it's not bad either. It doesn't QUITE feel like a PW song yet for me, that's not it's style. But it IS on repeat at the moment

Very eager to hear the album now; i am hoping for a diverse selection - a whole album of this style could get a little boring. Quite a 'Magic Position' vibe from this. In fact, does anyone else think the strings are reminiscent of 'Overture', or is it just me?

It's ok... a bit boring if I'm honest. I'd probably give it a 7/10.
Hope the whole album isn't light electronica + strings... (the strings are very nice though!).

I think it's already better than The Bachelor. It's catchy, feels possibly TMP-era-ish, but obviously I can't say that only hearing one track. Well, I like it, it's not mindblowing but it's happy and optimistic and bouncy and something that I liked listening to and I would listen to it again.

haven't been this excited in ages !! I'm already hooked on it, it's different in a good way. Sounds so fresh. Maybe a bit simple, but Patrick's voice makes it work.

I've listened to it four times in a row and will happily keep listening! It's not exactly vintage Wolf - it's a different sound and themes from what I can tell - but it's beautiful.

LOVE it. Listened to it a dozen times already. XD
I honestly didn't much care for the early versions that much. I'm much more fond of the more hopeful current version than I was of the almost spiteful older one.
The only thing that throws me off about this is the change of the timing of the words in the chorus from the battlethemegamix one. Also, am I the only person who heard "How could I choo-hoose?" in the megamix version? My mind still keeps automatically changing the timing from "happywithout yo-hoo" to "ha-ppy with-out you."
It always throws me off when songs change the timing on me like that.
Enough rambling, though. I'm going to listen again.

Is it really optomistic, or is there a second meaning? At the end of the song that somebody posted on the first page i think he says 'the worst time of my life'. It would work better for me. Too much optomism = cliche. And it is SO repetitive. I really do want to love it but i dont

I think it's optimistic but in a slightly sad and desperate way. That's what I get from the repetition of "happy without you", anyway. As if he's telling himself over and over that he WILL be happy without this person, whether he feels that way currently or not. It's about conquering the feelings that seem uncontrollable, I think. But I love that it's not spiteful as the original version was, I like that now it's "Thanks for the best time of my life". Appreciative rather than regretful. IT'S GOOD STUFF METHINKS

It's impossibly catchy, very Radio Two friendly and at the moment I bloody love it.
Miss the 'worse time of my life' bit though - thought that was a pretty powerful (and horribly truthful) ending of a two fingers up at the ex song.
It just feels so good to have at least one new song, future gigs booked in and the promise of the new album.

Looking forward to hear the album. and i don't think being optimistic is a cliché. it can be, but not ALWAYS and agreed with Xteenuh, the repetition of "happy without you" is hiding something

I like it more now! Still not the best thing ever, but it's quite moreish in a repetitive way.

beautifully arranged strings, beautiful vocal melodies ("i am a slave to my early grave"), brilliant lyrics, a simple, really well composed tune (that chorus...); doesn't have the borderline pretentious production and arrangement of the bachelor (something about all the wind instruments and spoken word didn't sit with me). sounds to me like a lovely magic position-era patrick song and i am now extremely optimistic for the album, yessss
