The only things I'm truly afraid of are people vomiting (it's odd but it's obviously quite common, but it pretty much devoured me during school, as you can imagine) and getting seriously ill/dying. Totally not comfortable with dying when there's so much I want to do.
I don't think I'm really frightened of much else.

^ this. also, maths. My brain and maths do not go together. I see anything maths related, even a graph, and my brain just shuts down and I begin to panic. Stupid maths.

-A certain metronomic rhythm, seemingly endless, that used to pop up in my head as a child. -Certain pitches of sound (external to my brain). -Total absence of sound.
Edit: I should say that these aren't real phobias in that they're not debilitating. The first two do induce a kind of hysteria for as long as they last, but the third is more of an imagined scenario.

I HATE those Trypophobia things. Vom vom vom, they make me feel horrible. DFEKJHFKDJFH. And Florence, that sounds like hell indeed! For your phobia anyway. I'm glad you weren't uncomfortable.
Tara, those are quite unusual phobias! Apart from the lack of sound one, that's understandable (not that the others aren't...i hope you get what I mean!)

woah i have a pretty massive fear of a certain scottish school nurse. i think it started when i was so little and at little school. She came and and gave us talks on sex and stuff that terrifyed us at that age. Now she still comes to our school to give us all jabs etc and last time she turned up i had an anxiety atack and massivly freaked . I also have a phobia of needles. I think im pretty scared of people looking at me, and judging me. And erm performing in front of an audience. My mum has a bigg phobia of buttons which is pretty strange... oh and social phobia

Yeah, of course. I just edited my post to clarify a bit as well. It's probably obvious that hearing is very important to me -- I value it above all other senses, except perhaps for touch.

Radios, dogs and people that come across as more 'flamboyant' than myself...actually that's not a phobia, I just find them intimidating. Radios and dogs however, make me feel ill.

-A certain metronomic rhythm, seemingly endless, that used to pop up in my head as a child. Gasp! He will knock four times... I am afraid of going blind. To the point that, when I close my eyes to sleep at night, I often sit up in a panic because I think I've gone blind. I used to have glow in the dark stars on my bedroom wall as a reminder that I had not gone blind, but now I live in the ghetto so it never really gets dark. Also, is there a word for... when something's not a phobia, but it just makes you feel sick to think about it, but you can't stop thinking about it? Those weird ass fingers have done me in. The same thing happened with an episode of Dr Martha Jones' Bizarre E.R, where a man had a massive, snotty wad of padding pulled out of his nose after he'd had excessive nose bleeds. It was the size of a dildo. I feel a bit sick again, actually. Cheerio, Michael. xxx

WASPS. I hear any kind of buzzing noise and I run a mile or have some kind of fit, it's embarrassing This is probably going to sound a bit odd but me and my best friend have a bit of a thing about buttons; we both hate them although I think I'm getting over it but she really isn't, I don't think 'Coraline' really helped any We both seem to have loads of similar, weird fears/habits and it's always like, "Well, it CAN'T be weird if she's the same!"

Needles. Specifically hypodermic needles. I have nightmares about them :/ I’m scared I’m going to stand on one and it will go through the sole of my shoe and into my foot. And I refuse to have all but the most necessary injections. Oddly I’m totally fine with piercings.
Skeletons. I mentioned in the confessions thread that I would be an archaeologist now if it wasn’t for the fear (fear of the spirituals(?) consequences) of digging up something that was once someone.

Edit: I should say that these aren't real phobias in that they're not debilitating. The first two do induce a kind of hysteria for as long as they last, but the third is more of an imagined scenario. This is a very good point, and the same applies to my post. I guessed the original poster wanted people to post the stuff that freaks them out and scares them in general. It's a bit like how things have got with OCD... obviously not many people have actual OCD, but lots of people have things which they get mildly obsessed about in a non-debilitating way. So a lot (not all) of these things are fears and anxieties rather than full blown phobias, but they're still valid.

I feel at home when somebody is flamboyant because i'm not and i feel like they can and will do all the talking for me! But when people are really quiet i feel really anxious around them, like not knowing what to say and stuff.

um, can i just point out that a phobia is technically characterised by irrational fear, so a fear of buttons would be a phobia, but fear of being mauled by a tiger is healthy. same goes for extent, as i said, fear of being mauled by tiger= healthy, not leaving the house when you live in wales out of fear of being mauled=phobia.

What genius named this phobia.
Hippopotomonstrosesquipedaliophobia - Fear of long words.
Can anyone actually say this word? There should be a limit on how long words can be!

I think my only real fears are drowning and being buried alive. The idea of not being able to breathe is not pleasant.

What scares you about radios, JAZZY? Do you not have any in your house? I almost constantly have the radio playing. I even have it on when I have my mp3 in.

Oh sorry, forgot about that! Also, not sure if this counts/is super sad, but I get stressed out and generally a whole lot moodier if I can't use the internet for a long time. Especially if there's all new stuff I don't know about on here! God knows how i'm going to cope without the internet for a month in Nepal..
