I'm not posting this in the community room because, you know what, I don't go into the community room, deal with it. I love Avril Lavigne and Lady Gaga, deal with it.
Back on topic if indeed there is one. I've been chatting with a friend about various terms of endearment and their implications and now I'm curious as to what everyone likes to call/be called by their significant other. I tried really hard just there not to type "significunt" and I'm thinking that'd be a great term for lesbian lovers. Deal with it?
Honey = "I love you, honey" = "I love you, bee vomit"
Darling = "I love you, darling" = "I want to marry you or something"
Sweetie = "I love you, sweetie" = "and I'd like to eat you"
Sweetheart = see above
Dear = "I love you, dear" = "And I'm headed off to work now"
Ducky = "I love you, ducky" = "I'm obsessed with ducks"
Pet = "I love you, pet" = "I wish you'd wear a leash"
Love = "I love you, love" = "I'm really bad with sentence structure and I wish I was Spike from Buffy the Vampire Slayer"
Bangmobile = "I love my bangmobile" = "I'm obsessed with Batman and I wish you'd sleep with me more often"
Sex kitten = "I'm into bestiality or I've never considered the implications of the term "sex kitten" and am using it completely artificially and without informed opinion, which is pretty much how I've been using you"
Pumpkin = "I love you, pumpkin" = "I was never called that by my grandmother and don't realize how embarrassing it is"
Baby = "I love you, baby" = "I just want to take care of you, or I'm trying to be one of those 80's leather-jacket-wearing mustang-riding high school dropouts who refuse to call you anything but 'baby'. What's your name again?"
Chewie = "I love you, Chewie" = "but I love Chewbacca more"
To be fair I don't mind most of those, I just like being a smartass. Your turn! Naturally, you don't have to add any side comments if you don't want to. I can't really understand why anyone wouldn't want to.
