I'm pretty sure no ones made a topic for this wonderful artist, any other fans out there?
I really like her work but i think more over i enjoy her originality, she's kinda strange and i think thats brave, she gives us something different in her songs and videos, a true visionary.
and i really dig her last album, Arial, really really dig it. i couldn't even tell you my favorite song by her, i'm still deciding.
anyone else like her?

Pretty sure there's at least one other Kate Bush thread on here or in the common room from way back in which I have already ranted on in great length.. though I may come back and do so again soon..
She's in my top 5 artists ever, fo'sure.

ahhh the only other one i found was for her releasing that song Lyra. That song is kind of a snooze fest, i can't believe it was nominated for a satelite award. anyways.

I always use to like The Hounds Of Love, but feel it was just ever so slightly over rated especially compared to The Dreaming which I've always pushed as her masterpiece... but recently I find myself appreciating THL more and more. Waking The Witch is still her worst song though. Okay, the actual song isn't really pants but I can't get over the incredible cheesy "panto villain from an 80s cartoon" demonic voice.
I don't think it's possible for a pop song to be more epic and HUGE sounding than Hello Earth (well, without being total bloated crap, anyway)

I was fed Kate Bush as a childling and recently discovered all my Mum's old Kate Bush records in the attic, which was a nice find.

another album of her that i really like is Lionheart. it opens with a great song (Symphony in Blue) and continues from there into some seriously inventive and thought provoking songs. "In Search of Peter Pan", "Wow", "Don't Push your Foot on the Break" and "Oh England My Lionheart" set up the rest of the album nicely.

Lionheart is another that's grown on me. Melodically Hammer Horror is such genius.

I just realized that Hammer Horror is one of the singles off that album so i went to check out the music video as all her music video are kookoo crazy. This one is no different, all those tracers were bringing on some serious flashbacks.
anyways the songs strange, i figured she was talking about hammer films but then she's going off about something else so here's the description from wiki.
"The song is a tribute to Hammer Films, a company specialising in horror movies. The story of the song concerns an actor who gets thrust into the lead role of The Hunchback of Notre Dame and ends up being haunted by the jealous original actor, a friend of the song's narrator until the re-casting."

"That cloud is nothing but trouble."
"This cloud looks like... errr, one of those things... Hmm, you know. "
"That cloud looks like one of those brown shiny things."
"That cloud looks like snow" "NO, IT DOESN'T!"
"This cloud looks like rain."
THIS CLOUD SHOULD BE REMOVED IMMEDIATELY.

Loving The Sensual World atm.
