Haha, I don't remember this thread, but apparently I just spammed it with lyrics last time it came up.

Kate Bush is awesome. My favourite song is probally 'Hounds of Love'. I went to a party once where we put a Kate Bush Vinyl LP on the fastest setting on the vinyl player.... it was the funniest thing I've heard in my life

KT fans: List your top five songs! And say why, if you like. Mine: Night of the Swallow - Freakin' epic. To me, NotS is to Jig of Life what Bjork's Enjoy is to Pluto. Both fill the same sort of space on their respective albums, but I prefer the older songs. Running Up That Hill (A Deal with God) - Not much needs to be said. It's a classic for a reason. Hello Earth - Also epic, in a very quiet, intense way. The atmosphere is so thick on this track that it feels like it contains a world. This is probably the most visual song I've ever heard -- it's almost breathtakingly cinematic. I can easily see a film being constructed around/to it. Experiment IV [12" Mix] - I love the music so much, and particularly the strings that open this remix. Other than that, I don't even know. This song is ridiculous along the same vein as Deeper Understanding. Also, Hugh Laurie in the music video, what? Love and Anger - In contrast, the lyrics to this song are so moving that they have several times brought me to tears. Well, if it's so deep you don't think that you can speak about it, Don't ever think that you can't change the past and the future. (What would we do without you?) You might not, not think so now, But just you wait and see--someone will come to help you. Honorable mentions: Them Heavy People, Army Dreamers, The Kick Inside, Cloudbusting, Delius (Song of Summer). Okay, and just about every song from The Sensual World, Never for Ever, and Hounds of Love.

Fog Fog Fog Fog Fog
Just kidding. But my favourite song is THE FOG because it's EPIC and it has all of these violins and her vocal inflections sound so feminine and beautiful and it reminds me of the ocean, and the arrangement is just PURE PERFECTION
Houdini, because it's just awesome.
Experiment Four, lyrics, arrangement, AWESOME.
The Sensual World, the video, the way she says mmmmmmmmm yeah. Everything! It's so pastoral too.
Fullhouse because it reminds me of I Wanna Make Love to You So Bad by Issac Hayes and it's just great
That's it. Got to make a new Kate Bush mix!

From time to time I have "Jig of life- attacks". During this I can't stop listening to it. And I like "Running up that hill" and "Under ice". so, I have some favourite Kate Bush songs but I don't like everything.. There is one song that I almost hate: "Violin" from Never for ever. I adore the sound of violins but that song is creepy.
and now I will listen to "the fog" which is new for me.

"the fog" reminds me of ocean as well. I want to mention "Waking the witch" as another great song.

Yay, this has got me listening to Kate Bush songs that I haven't really given attention to before, and I like that It's always hard to know where to begin with such a large back catalogue. My five favourites and why: 1. The Morning Fog It's so beautiful and perfect in every way, especially the lyrics. 2. Get Out Of My House Such an incredibly array of sound effects! And the fact that it's just like listening to nonsense the first 100 times you hear to it. 3. Nocturn Such an atmospheric chillout song. I love her voice and the drum beat. Plus, it's all gentle and stunning, and then at the end it kind of blows up. BRIGHT, WHITE, COMING ALIVE etc. 4 & 5 Suspended In Gaffa / Hounds of Love / Wuthering Heights All massive tunes, all really, really fun to sing along to. Or just sing aloud when doing the washing up. A drunken Wuthering Heights sing-along is the best way to end a night, and Hounds of Love is a classic.

I feel Suspended In Gaffa often gets unfairly overlooked, in fact too much of the dreamng gets overlooked. It's one of my favorites too. I only just realised it was released as a single in most of Europe except here when I found the music video.

Kate Bush is absolutely made of awesome. I don't think she's made a song that I don't like (yes, I'm in the Lyra-liking minority!). And Patrick covering her in live shows more or less makes my entire life. A tip I've learned from experience: When people won't get out of your house, blaring Get Out of My House over the stereo genuinely does the trick. As if there weren't enough reasons to love that song already.

I love Kate! I've had her with me since I was 6, so she's pretty much part of everything. I'm so glad Patrick's been covering her, he does a good job too!

It's from a campagin promoting respecting artists and getting music from legally endorsed sources etc.. there's Nick Cave and Sigur Ros ones as well. Nothing says 'BUY MORE RECORDS!' like sepia-tinged animated whimsy. Can really see it catching on with the young 'uns... Call me old-fashioned, but 'BUY MORE RECORDS... OR WE'LL SEND YOU TO JAIL!' worked in my day. Also, yes! Kate Bush! One of those artists I've been listening to since I was 14, 15, whose music has taken on different meanings as I've gotten older. Lovely. Also, this will never not make me laugh: Kate, we're giving you your own TV special, is there anything we can get for you? 'Yes. I'll need some men's clothes, a 19th century drag queen and a man dressed as a baby. Oh, and can you put some Wine Gums in my dressing room? Proper ones, though, not own brand, they're always powdery...' Cheerio, Michael. xxx

Oooh I've never seen this thread! My top 5 would beee...
Aerial Sat In Your Lap Suspended In Gaffa Kite Coffee Homeground.
Don't you just love symphonyofflowers on youtube! They post SO MANY young Kate demos, like of songs that then she never did properly as well.
Ooh and is anyone a fan of The Line, The Cross & The Curve? I haven't seen it yet, and I wish I'd watched it before I read how disappointed Kate was with it.
