I see Bob Fosse does Nazi mysticism. I am so sorry that Gaga is such a cruel dictator that she gave those poor men bowl cuts. Re: Madonna: Everyone's been comparing Gaga to Madonna forever, so I think she's intentionally playing it up this time. But I'm not Madonna expert, so I'm going through her videos now to be a more well informed citizen.

Ooh thanks for the link, interesting! Kinda voiced what I like about Lady Gaga, and now I understand what I like about her. I can't really say it because I'm afraid I'll express myself wrongly and people take it the wrong way. I'll try... She seems to be such a powerful woman who just won't let men control her and I really like that about her. Sure her videos are shocking and about sex and stuff but it's never like all the other pop videos I've seen where girls are just toys. (aaaaaand this might be obvious to most of you, but I just had to say it and get it out because I can't talk about it with anyone around me because they just don't care about Lady Gaga or the image of women in media)

Lol WTF @ that though. Why would they need to turn our brains to mush? And anyway, didn't "being dark" become "in" suddenly...I don't know when but I know I progressively saw pop music singers wear corsets and make up the Femme Metal band singers I used to listen to wore. And the Femme Metal bands...had nothing satanic about them XD. But maybe she has a point with the hypnosis theory I had Gaga's songs stuck in my head all day. Really annoying when you have to reread about the geography of Japan or solve an problem in maths haha XD!

I don't like her music much. It's okay, but I would'nt buy her album. Although I love how different she is. Has anyone else noticed people like Rihanna have started to try and act weird since her? It's annoying. ¬_¬

Er, well Rihanna's "Good Girl Gone Bad" album was 2007 (the album where she changed her style to be more sexualized and her music to include more up-tempo dance, and the one with Disturbia etc), and Gaga's first single and album were in 2008, so no, just no.

But fair enough isobel, Christina Aguilera has been quoted as saying she wants to be like Gaga now. I guess it's good that people are being influenced, but outright copying? Nah.

um. what. everyone accuses everyone of copying gaga, because GOD FORBID THERE MIGHT BE MORE THAN ONE ARTISTICALLY MINDED FEMALES.
such bullshit. in a world of identikit male singers (and some female) why hate on those who are just trying to do something fun/interesting?
also, where did christina say that? last quote i had from her was when she was like "i'm not copying her. i don't even know who she is"

Oh, well I heard on the entertainment news on radio 1 that she was going for the Gaga style and was going to try and be "all outrageous" (their words, not mine) like Gaga. That could be made up on their part though.
Also, who hasn't heard of Gaga :S

In before slagging: Rihanna's Rated R is - genuinely - one of the best pop albums ever made.
It would have been so easy to make a glossy, sugar-coated pop album off the back of the whole horrible Chris Brown affair, too, but the fact that it's so brilliant and dark and about a woman who's genuinely troubled is so brilliant and brave.
'Fire Bomb' is such awesome pop song.
Cheerio, Michael. xxx

I desperately want to know when and where and WHY that photo was taken, I am COMPLETELY in love with it
In other news, I don't think I've liked a music video as much as Alejandro since Missile which was in 2005. WELL DONE GAGA, if anyone was going to make the best music video of the past five years it would be her
Also I think I'm a convert Even though I never hated her particularly, and I'm not really about to buy her album-I'm just in love with what she's doing.

Sure, but lets not forget about that catchy as hell, slut anthem that is Rudeboy.

Sure, but lets not forget about that catchy as hell, slut anthem that is Rudeboy. 'Slut anthem'!? NO. Actually I think you'll find that women are allowed to sing and indeed listen to songs about sex without it meaning that they're 'sluts'. THE LYRICS AREN'T EVEN THAT BAD. I hate how everyone always singles out this song, I don't understand.
