im lucky: patrick watson's playing here (edmonton alberta canada...) twice in the next two weeks, and im going to one of the shows (where hes headlining, not opening)
patrick park: never heard of, but will promptly download and prob. buy (i work in a music shop and am hemmoraging money)
strange note: its a week of patricks. i got my friend hooked on PWolf and she likes PWatson, we saw a hot boy at the local starbucks and dubbed him patrick (just cuz), we partied with 2 patties last thursday and watched american psycho (main character looked like starbucks boy and was named...you guessed it!)
strange but beautiful

David Thomas Broughton! Finally listening to him in preparation for the gig tonight and he's all busy swarthy mournful folk and it's awesome and you will all love him. Well not all of you, and maybe not love. But almost definitely a few of you wolfies will get a kick from him, I think.

Laura in predictable recommendation shocker: Los Campesinos! www.myspace.com/loscampesinosps. I will not stop until everyone ever loves them. 'Cause I'm sad like that. I know your post is from forever ago BUT I downloaded that anthology of theirs you put in the YSI thread (also forever ago, I know) and I recently got around to listening to it and I really absolutely adore their stuff. You! Me! Dancing! is so bloody great. As well as pretty much everything else that was on there... SO YEAH THANK YOU LAURA. everyone should be a bright eyes fan, except dont, because then it'll be annoying to get concert tickets The man's a wanker. I like some of his albums but Christ Alive! What a female reproductive organs! I'd be happy not to see him live again Was he acting twatish when you saw him live or anything? 'Cause I saw him just a couple weeks ago and I am pleased to say it was actually quite a no nonsense show, I've heard many reports and stories of him being arrogant and such and so I was a bit afraid I'd have to expect that but really he was just fine and it was a great show. ANYWAY I HAVE SOME RECOMMENDATIONS GUYS! Superfun Yeah Yeah Rocketship, a.k.a. Corey Goodman, bored college student from Illinois who likes to spend his free time creating what I personally believe to be fucking brilliant stuff. I'm not even kidding/being ironic. It's basically crazy techno rock, but I think it goes beyond just the humor... I cannot stop dancing and screaming along. No one else expresses their feelings about a person's particular scent quite like he does. You can download his albums Chest Hair and uhLIVE! for completely free from his myspace, DO IT NOWWW. PlayRadioPlay!, a very very talented 18-year-old straightedge Texan named Dan. He says about himself, "Boredom is the reason I make music, and nerdiness is the reason I make electronic music." Well I'm quite glad he's bored and nerdy, 'cause I just love his electro pop with heartfelt lyrics, pretty melodies and a lovely near-falsetto voice. Listen to every song on his myspace, they're all so very very very wonderful. He also has amazing hair. Emmy the Great. I absolutely adore this chick. SHE BLOODY LIVES UP TO HER NAME I TELL THEE. Nice folky acoustic stuff, love love love her lyrics, and her voice. ALSO CHECK OUT THE BAND NOAH AND THE WHALE ON HER TOP FRIENDS! They have a pretty ace music video...

I actually really love the song in addition to the video, it's so happy and catchy. They used to have this one song called 2 Bodies 1 Heart up on their 'space, it was so sweet....
P.S. The music video kinda reminds me of a Wes Anderson film. Probably why I like it so much... haha.

www.myspace.com/kidcarpetThis guy experiements with a little Casio keyboard and all sorts of toys. The songs on the page aren't his best but the video in his 'sounds like' box is brilliant. One of his songs features a furby on backing vocals, but unfortunately the actual toy got robbed by a tramp after one of his gigs in Bristol also: www.myspace.com/stevebisgoodLuxembourg is one catchy song. I sing it constantly. "Nobody needs broccoli 'cos everyone is stong!"

Kid Carpet... Haven't listened to him in a while. He's actually pretty clever at sampling. He just decides to use his skills to make something that, when it comes down to it, is novelty music. This did not, however, stop me buying, and enjoying, "Ideas and Oh Dears". I'm sure "Green and pleasant land" is quite a well written song underneat it all...

I do know what you mean, but I find it really fun and refreshing. There are some songs that just don't impress me at all, "Green and Pleasant Land" being one of them, but more that do, and make me laugh lots and lots.

IF ANYONE HERE REALLY HAS A HEART, they will look up Six Twilights. If you Hypemachine 'em up, you come up with the track "Tonight I'm Letting You Drive," which is a masterpiece in the vein of Múm.
Also, I'm really enjoying Ravens & Chimes just now.

Enlighten yourshelves! You see him live before you can fully appreciate him. It's true. It's like a small learning experience/activity. I can't really stand anything on record.
