So, is this gig 21+ or 18+? I'm going to have to kick some unsuspecting person in the shins if they don't let me in. I'm 20.

I just spoke with the Le Poisson Rouge box office and they said that the 18+ info and link was incorrect and that it shouldn't have happened. I am emailing the guy who deals with booking now to see what we can do. Ugh. I will update you all as soon as possible.

Thank you SO much, Lauren. If nothing works, I am on the lookout for lookalikes with ID.

I tried to prevent the email from seeping with disdain but I think it came through pretty strongly.

Hahah! I really could only add to your problem of disdain saturation if I tried to do anything, but if you need me to vouch for ALSO seeing it listed as 18+, that would be great... and if that doesn't work, maybe we could get special privileges somehow for being some of the core fanbase (probably not but I'm going to go out on a limb here).

Lauren,
This was an error on the presale site (It said 21+ at the bottom of the page, but the standard photo at the top is 18+). The show is in fact 21+ and we will not be able to let anyone into the show who is under 21 (this is a decision that is made between the booker and the artist, as well as a legal issue). I apologize for any confusion - we do frequently have 18+ performances but we cannot make exceptions for our 21+ performances. If you, or any friends are under 18 we can definitely issue refunds.
Thanks, Dustin LPR
Really angry and sad and fuck.

First of all: we're under 21, not 18.
Secondly: what the hell?
Okay, so what we're going to do... is borrow IDs from other people who look like us. I keep editing this post, but we can also always go to the door and THEN pretend we're finding this out for the first time if they don't let us in...
And come on, Patrick! Help us out!

I am emailing bandstocks now since they were apparently the ones who booked the show with the venue and apparently made the decision to have it be 21+. And it was apparently their error. Apparently.

Yeah, that must be an error, because we all know that most wolf fans are under 21.

Okay, I sent an email to bandstocks pleading for our case. If they can't do anything, I'm not sure who to turn to next.
Alei, since you are in NY, is there any way you can find out some inside information on how tough it is to get into the venue underage?

Yeah, of course I can do that! Maybe I can try getting into another 21+ show sometime before May 6... I really hope bandstocks can do something about this...

i'm sorry, but what do you really expect bandstocks to be able to do in this situation? they've already agreed the age limit of the show, they can't go back and change it as that would mean a shitload of paperwork and legal issues. yes, perhaps the presale link should not have stated 18+ and they can at least apologise to you for that, but when these issues are agreed before the show is even announced....i somehow don't think anything can be done at all.

Well, maybe they can agree to let Lauren and I in somehow because we are 20, and because we ordered tickets super early? I don't know.

wouldn't that be against the law, though...
by all means good luck with getting them to sort something out for you, because it is their mistake for advertising the event as 18+ and waiting until you have tickets to then tell you it's 21+...and also, it's not like you're 15 or something. i just thought i'd say that i don't think there's much that can be done here but it'll be good to see what they have to say if/when they respond to you.

Yeah, thanks, Jay! And honestly, I bet they can't do anything. I do think it's a bit unfair, though. We'll see if they even acknowledge our request.

That really sucks Alei and Lauren.... especially since the venue does have 18+ shows on occasion. Finding someone with an ID is not a bad idea, you know... might work.
Maybe the US should stimulate the economy by changing the drinking age! (and realizing that 21 is really, really old)

Yeah, and I mean, it wouldn't even have to be 18. It could be 19 or 20 even. Just step by step, perhaps... I mean, college kids are going to drink anyway. It might as well be monitored.

Yeah, definitely. It's 19 here and I think that's a good age. Plus, going to bars and clubs (and shows) is a fun night out and doesn't have to include copious amounts of alcohol. But hey, y'all can just come to Toronto for the shows
