Why isn’t there a ‘Patrick; stop acting like an asshole!” option? He’s a person like the rest of us, and I think before we’ve remarked an ‘intense’ person, and we all get angry and throw stuff around. But when you’re a musician you have a responsibility to uphold and an example to set.
Patrick should read WolfBoard more in my opinion just so he can see how his view of things differs from ours and have a re-think, we’re a collective and he’s a single being and even though he has a wonderful mind I trust OUR judgement more.
I can’t hate him, we all get angry, I’ve been insanely pissed off at things but no-one ever videoed my being-insanely-pissed-off. And I didn’t do it in front of hundreds of impressionable people who look up to me.
I’m also glad that the whole ‘quitting music’ thing was mentioned because he keeps going on about growing up and settling down but he’s still acting like the same unstable twat.
I could never hate PW, he rises and falls in my eyes, and I take everything he says with a pinch of salt but the good times outweigh the bad.

I don't think he did anything that bad. My aunt and uncle shout and throw things at people when they get really angry though the rest of the time they are very nice. It's not something I support but still.

I have always kept Patrick's music separate from the man himself. This incident doesn't stop the fact that his music takes me to another place, where all the unsavoury things in the world don't matter. And now for my input. I've spoken to people who were at the show, and they say the sound quality was bad in the first place, the timing by the organisers was all completely awful... and then this. No wonder he snapped. It's just unlucky it got videoed, and it was in front of his fans. If any unfamous person had done this, no one would give a shit. As humans, we're just made of nerves and hormones. People just put Patrick on a pedestal and therefore forget this. Thus comes about the concept that because he's "known", he should be condemned for it. EDIT: Also, about him throwing stuff at a woman, etc - if someone was blind with rage, I highly doubt they would actually notice who got in the path of their anger.

people on this board are obviously very bored. the moment you met wolf has absolutely nothing to do with the moment in cologne, and how you can value an experience you had via youtube more than one you actually lived is beyond me. I'm not sure this forum really represents Patrick's core fanbase either, and I'm glad about it. EXALT!! Please please please stop it. No,sorry,I'll stop visiting this place or at least, the threads about this stupid matter. It's really getting on my nerves, lately. And now you can smite me if you want,I don't care.

EDIT: Also, about him throwing stuff at a woman, etc - if someone was blind with rage, I highly doubt they would actually notice who got in the path of their anger. Oh that makes it TOTALLY ok then! The justifications from the fanboys and girls keep getting sillier... Ok, hey guess what guys? I'm "blind with rage" right now, I ain't going to notice who gets in the path of my anger, so I trust I will face no consequences or hard feelings for saying this but.. honestly my opinion of the people so willing to accept and tolerate violence against a small woman is currently lower than certain kinds of bacteria.

Josh, it must be unpleasant being you. You are so highly strung you're on the verge of snapping. How do you sleep at night with all these filthy, immoral people living among us?

I'd like to hear why it was so idiotic.

Because it makes the assumption that having an opinion on something you find offensive is being "highly strung".

Well I didn't. Don't be silly. And come on, this is Josh we're talking about. Of coarse he's highly strung. When there's an issue at hand you can count on Josh to be there, arms flailing, teeth gnashing and utilising the kind of verbal exaggeration worthy of news corp.

Opinionated still isn't highly strung. I'm not being silly, you're accusing my friend of something that I think is unfair.

This isn't denial, I just don't really care. ^the nadir of debates. i'm not saying this one hasn't run its course, but staying out of them is a reasonable solution for this kind of mentality [ie. not even clicking on the thread though i know it's SOO hard...i believe florence brought this up the other day]. professing your apathy like it adds anything is pointless and a bigger waste of time than anything else on a messageboard where people come to discuss things. the poll is there to express your opinion anyway. people on this board are obviously very bored. this is probably very true. karma fluctuations alone are filling me with a delirious excitement as we speak! it's no surprise though, since tv snow does happen to be my favorite program.

Oh for yawn.. I don't have to write another tedious self justification of the use of hyperbole in my writing style again do I? The harsh/intense thing I said there was obviously a specific parody in order to make a point about people making excuses for their favourite popstars they wouldn't ffor other people not an earnest emotional outburst.
To be honest, I find it very warped that in this specific segment of reality it is those who are deeply affronted by this that are being characterised as acting in a peculiar and extreme way. Seriously PC blah. equality blah within the minds of about 90% of people, male on female violence is still perceived as one of the more despicable actions possible, most people are not too hot on violent intimidation of any kind. I just think the people who are making excuses for this and even applauding it cos they happen to enjoy Patrick Wolf's work have a very strange and warped way of looking at the world indeed.
Also, I love you Sibz, you are so fierce.
