All I meant by it was… Well, before I met him, I guess I held him in a certain light... after the "quitting music" and causing a drama and throwing a hissy fit and having a go at his well-intentioned fans/ the wolfboard and then not apologising to them and attacking his drummer and firing him on-stage and not apologising and then throwing a bottle at a fan and not apologising and generally acting drunken and violent and unapologetic, and telling Josh he needs to visit a prostitute (...actually, that last bit was amusing enough to be forgiven). ...and he threw a mic stand at a photographer at lovebox 2007...

i opted for 'i love the wolfboard'. i have been away from the world of the interwebz, literally don't give a fuck what pw has done, i like his music & that's it. there wasn't a 'being a fan of the music doesn't mean you have to agree with every action performed by said musician' option but if there were, i'd have clicked it. I so agree with you. And I wouldn't want him to apologize for something he doesn't regret. The worst apologize in my opinion is the one when the person is forced to say it and doesn't mean it.

Is three-fifths more than two-thirds? I dropped maths.

Is three-fifths more than two-thirds? I dropped maths. I think 3/5 is smaller. I'm not sure though. Also, 1, 2, 6, 10, 15 and 17.

I voted for apology, sadness and tea. XD Although I do think what he needs more than just an empty apology is to realise his mistakes, and own up to them.
Also 3/5=0.6, while 2/3=0.66666....so 3/5 is slightly smaller, but not by much at all.

Welp, I voted 1, 6, 8, 14 and 15, and most of my reasons are explained here since I was going off a bit on something Miyamashi said in the twitter thread: patrickwolf.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=pw&thread=3877&page=33I would also like to add that I agree with what Sibz and Florence have said about reading the Wolfboard. Also, I do love the Wolfboard dearly, because you are all such amazing, wonderful, hilarious, smart, talented and unique people and I couldn't ask for a better fan base to interact with.

people on this board are obviously very bored. the moment you met wolf has absolutely nothing to do with the moment in cologne, and how you can value an experience you had via youtube more than one you actually lived is beyond me. I'm not sure this forum really represents Patrick's core fanbase either, and I'm glad about it.

P.s. I'm not 'bored' and I do actually do a lot more with my life than sit on a forum, as does everyone else here, so there's no need for a personal attack. I just find opposing opinions very interesting, I don't disrespect anyone for having those opinions, I just can't get my head around it.

I'm not sure this forum really represents Patrick's core fanbase either, and I'm glad about it. Can't agree with the last part but I was just about to post that this board definitely doesn't represent Patrick's fanbase. Like ANY forum for an artist/band! When I hear things in the news about musicians I just like, or even love but aren't overly dedicated to, I react with a 'huh' and turn the page, and I'd imagine that's what the majority of his fans are doing. I don't think his reaction was in any way alright, but this thread is a little over the top.

Josh he needs to visit a prostitute (...actually, that last bit was amusing enough to be forgiven). haha, that was funny and in all seriousness I have/had no problem with it, I was firing harsher insults at him and there's nowt wrong with a bit of a comeback. I don't reckon that should be on Patrick's list of sins, ha. To be honest, the whole situation did me an indirect favour, I get strangers at parties in Bradders coming up to me and going "aren't you the guy who made Patrick Wolf quit music?" (usually whilst slapping me on the back, and before a tirade on how much they dislike Wolf) I don't even talk about it much, but he's certainly given me an anecdote I've got some serious social mileage out of..

I don't think his reaction was in any way alright, but this thread is a little over the top. I always want to write a smart and interesting message but I always fail in that, but I agree what Victoria said. It has been a little bit over the top. Yeah what he did may not have been the brightest thing he have done, and yeah he doesn't feel sorry about it. But I don't want this to overshadow my experience I had with him when I saw him for two days ago. Which was amazing, I can't stop smiling! So um, maybe I should stop write about this ?

To be fair to those saying it's "over the top" if this was some "chav" or rudeboy in your local throwing heavy shit and violently intimidating a female bar worker who refused to serve them "because they can".. would you react in the same way you are here? I don't think it would be "over the top" to be enraged by that, so why is it when a famous popstar is involved?
Not saying Patrick is the Big Bad, but he should face consequences for his shitty actions.
(ha I've nicked Liz's point. Talent burrows, genius steals)

Um, I'll try to explain the best I can (it is hard to put my thoughts the way I want because English isn’t my native language, so I hope that you can understand and wont misunderstand me).
The first time I saw a video when Patrick fired his drummer I was horrified, this wasn’t the person I expected him to be. I had this other image of him, the soft spoken person who never raised his voice. You could say that I raised him on a pedestal. That’s something very common for me when I admire someone. I have a hard time to think that the person have bad sides.
Well when I saw that video I understood that there was this other side of Patrick. Which is normal, everyone has a bad side. But I understood that he is only a person, and thought that this won’t make me stop listening to his music.
And now this happened. My first reaction to it was; Eh what? And he didn’t need to go so far in his actions. But I didn’t really want to care. I didn’t want this episode to ruin his music for me. Especially when I saw him live a few days ago and it was magical. I still can’t stop smiling.
So why do I think that this have gone a little bit over the top? And remember I say a little bit, not a lot. Mainly because no one got hurt, and thank goodness for that, and I don’t know but this doesn’t affect me that much and it is very strange. Maybe because I don’t put him on a pedestal anymore. And this doesn’t mean that I think that others do that because their reactions. I understand and can agree with almost what everyone have written, but when people say that they don’t want to listen to his music anymore and stuff, that is what I think is a little bit over the top. Mainly because I can’t understand that.
And that people want him to apologize, when he says that he isn’t sorry about what happened. Maybe because no one got hurt. If someone were hurt I do believe that he would be sorry.
I don’t want to hear an apology from someone who doesn’t truly regret their actions. That would just make the situation worse.
Oh this message became very long, sorry about that and applauds if you read this far about my thoughts and I can’t just say a simple answer and I must ramble on forever. And I couldn’t really just come up with a straight answer.
Oh well..

I have no idea why believing that violent, intimidating, bullying behaviour is wrong is putting someone on a "pedestal"
Like I said Patrick's job, social status or my relationship with his music has no baring on my thoughts. It's just basic human decency you would expect and not be so quick to excuse of any person you'd met in real life.

You misunderstand me, I'm just trying to figure out why my reaction is not the same as how it was when he fired the drummer. At that time, I saw him as a flawless person, because of that I got shocked. After that I understood that my vision of him was a little bit weird. Because I had him on a pedestal.
But it is hard to explain my thoughts, so maybe I should just shut up.
