okay, so... since the physical will be sent over to me to pass on when it's all finished, i thought i'd better post up some deadline 'windows', just to see which one you think is best. basically, these are dates that patrick is in the uk and will be most able to receive the book.
2nd-10th july 13th-17th july 21st-28th july 3rd-7th august 9th-12th august
i don't think we want to go any later than that but there are more windows of opportunity after those dates if needed at a push.

I think the first or the second date, august is a bit too far away.
I am deffo doing a letter on mine, since anything I write will be better than anything i cut/glue.

Last time I was on vacation in Panama, but this time I would really like to. I don't want to say anything, because if I make something ugly I won't want to send it. I may be in?

So is the disk just having the photos from last years book, the photo of the year befores cakes, and anything like music/video files and photoshop images etc? Personally I don't think we should repeat anything that's going to be in the physical book by putting it on the disk, too.
The disk should come first, also explaining what happened with the last two birthday presents (the idea of them, and how they failed...) and like, a general wolfboard message wishing happy birthday? And a note saying that the physical book is coming, and when he can expect it?
And then the book can be full of just original material, the arty stuff and the letters etc. Also, I'd be nice if the book had a little pocket in the front/back cover so the disk can be put in there when it gets reunited with the book.
What format will the disk be arranged in? I'm not very technical, but just something which you put in the computer, and then it's all been compiled as a slideshow, or just a folder filled with assorted files?
edit - If we are doing something over Paypal, 'cos the project needs money, then I'd be more than willing to help out there.
Other than that, my own contribution will probably just be a letter or something... I'm not too creative :/

Is someone going to take all of last year's pictures of our pages from last year's thread and add them, or would we have to send the pictures ourselves to miyamashi? Its just that I'm going to be using one of my ideas from last year on my new page, so I wouldn't want my old page to be on the disk.

Can we contribute more 'physical' items, because I was intending to head some bracelets Patrick-way at some point, either throwing them onstage or maybe incorporate some little package into the book? It’s something I do for everybody, make bracelets for them and nearly knock them out throwing them at them at gigs. I could make a kind of folder-size letter/artwork/bracelet holder to include. Could I s post this to Rhianne? (is she still physical co-ordinator?) (PS: I wanna add that Kitz’s drawing is AMAZING!)

^ that's funny, I have made the tackiest bracelet for him in history. As I do for lots of people too. And no, I wouldn't ever wish for him to wear it, just laugh at it, in all its clashing glory. Yeah, what I'm doing it making my page, then I'll make a little compartment to put the bracelet inside, haha. I'll try and get mine finished next week, so I don't have to panic about the 'deadline' haha.

I was hoping to give him a BMW with the laser-eyed bear as a chauffeur.
Too big?

Erm, yeah, wanderer, send that to me!
Yeah, i think i will try and find a packet/sachet for the CD, put it on the back of the book, like Florence suggested. I, however, was personally planning on putting the cake picture as the front cover. You could use it, but someone would have to offer to make a front cover.

Okay, guys: Here's what I'm planning for the disk: As for getting me the pages, since some don't want their old pages in, just send them over if you want them in, or link me to your page on the board. I don't want to include any material that people don't want on the disk, so I think I'll get approval from everyone before putting their pages on it. Also, I won't include any of the physical pages from this year on there, so the digital and physical will be two completely different present. As for format, I want to include the raw files in folders arranged by who submitted them. Should I do a slideshow as well, so there's both a "pretty" version, and the ability to go in and look at the files individually? I'm also planning on including a credits page, and a letter explaining the present, and that the physical version is coming later.

Erh, sorry if this isn't really the best place to ask but -- anyone knows did the book that was made for him back in... I'm not sure was it 05 or 06 ever reach him? I'm not even sure was it for birthday or just a random book. I found the scans of it as pdf file on my computer and began to wonder...

Anyone started on their pages yet? (resurrecting because it went to page 2)
I'm gonna try get some of mine done tonight. And I don't know what to do for the digital one. Maybe just a little letter, nothing too special, I won't have enough time to.

I've started on mine; I'm trying to make a collage. It's taking me ridiculously long to sort it all out. I've spent like 2 days just cutting out the right colours from magazines. I'm planning to stick it all down sometime tommorow I reckon.

I'm finding writing something really hard. I did a practice, I sound like a 12 year old haha. I didn't just want to say a generic happy birthday message. Hmm.
