This was mentioned in the Tate Modern show thread, so just to separate things a bit, I'll start a thread for it. July 4th/5th This year’s Redfest (near Redhill in Surrey) returns as a two day festival featuring some of the UK’s hottest new bands and, for the first time there will be onsite camping. Redfest 2008 promises to be the best small independent music festival anywhere...ever!Redfest MyspaceTicketsFacebook group(Although, Patrick Wolf isn't listed on there, so not sure how updated it is.)

I HATE MY SCHOOL SO MUCH.
We're on this trip (we're going to camp. CAMP. WITH SCHOOL.) on the 4th and so obviously I can't go to the 5th either. This is made even more crap by the fact that 2 of my favourite artists are playing (Patrick and Los Campesinos!) and one of my friend's favourite bands (The Maccabees) are playing.
ARRRRRGH!

I don't think they will, it's not very well known.

Readhill in Surrey! Haha, I used to live in Surrey. It seems like the least likely place to hold a "small independent music festival".
Edit: Wow, the line-up is great. I'm totally going to go. When the day tickets are released I'll get one. I hope by that point it'll say what day which artists are on.

woah I soooo want to go there... I'm even in London at this time... but I guess my best friend doesn't want to go there -.- I mean 142 £ for both of us is quite expensive... and she doesn't even like Patrick Wolf I need to convince her... the line-up sounds so alluring

Well, this is the next proof that my decision to spend the summer in the USA despite first plans about going to the UK was absolutely wrong. The line-up of this festival is simply ideal (ok, for me Patrick Wolf alone makes an ideal line-up and all other artists are just additional attractions )

From the new Myspace blog:
Hey there,
I know we said that LMHR would be the only show of the year. We meant it when we said it, honestly we did, it wasn't a wind-up; but PW was so fired up by the awesome reception he got from you guys that he has decided to accept invitations to play another couple of shows over the summer. Who knows, he may play one or two more.
The first show is something really special, and will truly be a one-off. Patrick has been personally asked by the American photographer, Nan Goldin, to perform a live soundtrack to her seminal work, The Ballad Of Sexual Dependency, in the Turbine Hall of the Tate Modern on May 24. Tickets are limited and available here: Tate tickets
Then on July 5 Patrick will headline Redfest, which is just outside Redhill, Surrey. This is a small, vibrant little festival with no sponsors, no vip area, and no corporate involvement whatsoever. We also believe the toilets will work. Tickets can be bought here Redfest tix
In the meantime, PW records his album.
Love,
Team Wolf x
Haha. No additional/new info, but I just found the blog funny. HE'S JUST NEVER GONNA STOP PLAYING SHOWS. He's like the damn Energizer Bunny.
Also, poopy that I won't be in England then, that little festival sounds like it would be fun.

The boy just can't chill out can he!? I'm tempted by this....I've been to Reading for the past 5 years and I won't be going this year, it's become increasingly overpriced, overrated and comercialised. This festival sounds much nicer! Now to see if I can get some interested people together.....

I'm tempted to try and sell my Boosh tickets to go to this....Patrick Wolf, Los Campesinos!, Lightspeed Champion...

I've decided against going to this, since I'm going to see basically all of the bands on the line up other than Patrick at other festivals this summer. I reckon he'll come to them, too.

I'm getting a photopass for this hopefully, but I wouldn't mind going even if I didn't.

I really want to go to Redfest but it looks like my two best friends are going to pull out on me being 15 and all were not getting the greatest reception of camping out alone in the middle of surrey when we live like 3 hours away. It looks as if i will be seeing Patrick on my own lol.

I really want to go to this, but I'm not sure I'll have anyone to go with. I only have Truck and Underage lined up this year, and I don't suppose he'll be at either of those.

I'm going to this, but yeah, about half the bands that are playing this are also playing Latitude, so I really hope Patrick plays Latitude again (Latitude also looks like it is struggling to get artists as hardly any have been announced so far). So I hope Patrick and Ed Larrikin play Latitude (I was speaking to Ed in Laugharne and he said it'd be great to play but he hadn't been asked to)
