well just got home from the middlesbrough gig and have to express the absolute frustration and bitter disappointment. The city is a shit hole. The venue should never host gigs because the staging was awful. The doors didn't open until 45 minutes after they were scheduled to open. The venue was full of absolute tossers and dickheads who talked throughout Patrick's set and didn't shut up even when the venue staff asked them to. AND to top it all off after waiting around Patrick only played fo 45 minutes with no oncore! the staff said he would be back but the security started chucking everyone out. I have never been to a worse gig. I left facing a long drive home in tears!!! i won't be returning to middlesbrough or MIMA i hope patrick is better for everyone else! I agree about the gig being awful. MIMA is a great art gallery, but the organisation and the way it was laid out was awful. There was no atmosphere, the stage was poorly positioned, the staff had no clue. We could hardly see anything, yet we were stood fairly close to the stage. I'm no suprised Patrick didn't come back for an encore, because the crowd were either agitated and not into it, or complete idiots shouting obscenities. I wouldn't go to a gig there again. It was the day before my birthday too:( It makes me sad because I've seen Patrick three times this year, and it seems unfair for the year to end with this bad gig.

I enjoyed the middlesbrough gig, but to be honest, it was the first time I saw him and I'd still think he was amazing if he played for two minutes standing in a muddy ditch. I could have strangled the people at the bar who were being really loud, I don't know why they would pay a tenner or however much to just get drunk and spoil it for everyone else. Apparently the reason for not having the encore was that MIMA wasn't a proper music place & they had time restrictions or something
I'm going to see him again soon so I'll be able to compare and probably see the difference

oh i went to this show whilst on holiday. gosh, what an effort. i caught the train down from edinburgh and when i finally got to middlesbrough, i discovered that the hotel i had booked was over in great broughton. i spent over eighty quid on taxi fares! to make it worse my then friend from milton keynes decided not to come so i was utterly alone and miserable save patrick's 45 minute set. he played very well but i would not do that again. i went to the last finale show though which almost made me forget about the shit fight that was my middlesbrough experience.

I went to the most recent Brighton gig, and is was brilliant asides from many difficulties. Both Patrick and Lightspeed Champion were on about 45 minutes late, loads of people left and no one stood up. At all. I could barely see because of this old lady wearing what looked like a wedding hat in front of me.
