anyone with really curly hair bleached it? im scared it will turn to frizz. I am naturally dark blonde but have be dying it red/purple for about 5 years now and haven't seen natural colour since! Now I want to dye it a brighter blue but i think it is too dark red to do without bleaching. The hairdresser flatout refused to bleach it all. He said it would cost hundreds of £, i accepted that, clearly he thought it would put me off but no. hmm when my sister wanted her hair blond, the hairdresser just tried to strip the red out of her hair, you could ask him to try that? strip the colour out until you back to blond? i have curly hair and when i used pre-lightner my hair felt like straw at first, just keep using leave in conditioners and it should be okay, though if your hair was pretty dry to begin with i wouldn't suggest it

I'm getting mine revamped. Maybe right now if I find my scissors.

You can strip your own colour with a soapcap, but it is very, very damaging to your hair. It's best to go to a salon for a professional opinion.

i just dyed the underside of my hair blue. or part of it, cause i ran out of hair dye. i left it in for twice as long as suggested and it turned out half as blue, ah well. i feel like i should go to some fantasy role playing two day adventure things. i quite like it.

I finally found a hairdresser who will do it but very reluctantly

I dye my hair black, but I'm getting a little bit bored of it. It's always a real mission for me to choose hair dye, because I don't buy anything that is animal tested. I found quite a good range of dyes by Herbatint which are apparently "permanent". The good thing is that because they don't contain any harsh chemicals, after about 4 weeks my colour turns from blue/black to a really dark brown/black that shines red in the sun.

erm.. Post-bleach, pre-dye, haha. I left it in the roots for a bit longer to make sure they wouldn't end up too dark... a bit too long perhaps! also got a few dark spots behind my right ear, heh. Reckon it'll be easily covered up with dye though, that red's not too far from what I actually wanted, funnily. Ohh, that colour is lovely

My friend is trying to convince me to dye my hair. I think I'm going to get it professionally done though, since last time I dyed it, it became a nightmare. I'm going to just randomly pick out pieces of hair to dye different colors. but have the majority of my hair still brown.. but i'm still deciding. and standing out like that might be a bad thing at the moment.

hot oil treatments aswell hairs dry because of lack of moisture oil to hair is what food is to the body V05 does a good one, but you need more than one tube if your hair is quite long
id reccomend wrapping it in a hot towel, and leaving it for about half an hour. then rinse with warm water, then blast with icy cold water.
or alternativley, heat some olive oil in a pan until nice and warm, and apply onto the MIDLENGTHS ONLY not the roots or itll be oilfest. wrap sections in clingfilm, then in a hot towel and leave for half an hour. rinse untill all the oils is gone and apply a light conditioner for a minute or two. rinse with warm water and then cold water. dont rub your hair dry, pat it with a towel and leave it to dry naturally.

hot oil treatments fade colour faster though. I actually found a hairdresser in manchester who will bleach and dye my hair! I am currently trying to fade the red dye I have in there with head and shoulders and hot oil treatments. I get the feeling I would fuck it up if I dyed it myself! Thing is, by the time I properly decided to do it the hairdresser went on holiday and I am now not back in Manc for a month. gr.

don't use bleach, use something called pre-lightener it's basically bleach but it's for hair with dye already on it because it takes out the dye and then bleaches it
did that make any sense ?

She said it'd fade really fast, but anyone I've known who's done that, their colour has lasted for a while. Annoying. doctorwho, I've heard of it, but I'm not sure if anywhere here has it in on sale. I'll have a look on Saturday though, because I'm planning to dye my hair blonde after it's grown a bit.
