L'oreal Colour Pulse in Radiant Red (I think that's what it's called) is an excellent non-permanent as well, the SUperdrug ones don't work on my hair now, as it's too damaged. yeah i used to use the pepsy purple one when my hair was purple they smell really nice

thats actually lovely! what colour are you putting over the top? I'm using this one, but I'm hoping to get something lighter than that as a result. I used the same bleach and dye last time but it ended up much more orange-ish than the picture. And now my hair's even lighter after bleaching so I've no idea what I'll actually end up with! part of the fun, I guess ;D ahhh thats a good one to use its exactly the same one i used after i bleached mine

are you sure that you have to bleach it first? the red dye i use has bleach in it anyway so it lightens and reddens all at once (magic), although if you wanna go for the sort of mrs jonathan ross look... i have heard the wait a few days after bleaching advice, but just make sure you use superconditioner and you'll probably be okay... although i have dyed my hair red so many times even without bleaching it first and just going for the bleaching and reddening brand it's a bit straw-like anyway even when i uber-condition it. but be prepared to be redyeing the red a LOT because when you dye over bleached hair it fades really fast, and it will be twice as bad if we ever get the summertime, fortunately for faux redheads of the world that doesn't look that likely... oh Debs i wouldn't like to count the number of white pillowcases and towels i have dyed a fetching shade of orange... and in fact my entire bath was tinted pink for a little while. p.s. red hair is not cliche unless you wear it like it's a cliche. HE COPIED ME. right? of course right! EXACTLY! HE COPIED ME AS WELL! she's right though everything you own will be tainted with the colour, my bathtub is still green. and the red is one of the hardest to keep in, you have to have a lot of money to spend on hairdye if your going for it (i had to re-dye mine nearly every two weeks!). and the bleach will mess your hair up for a long time, my hair used to be lovely, now its like straw just be careful you use a decent bleach

I really reccomend henna, I used the red one from the Body Shop, and though it stunk and was REALLY messy, the colour was amazing, really bright and shiny and GINGERRRR! But it did fade pretty quickly.. but yeah, I reccomend it

iv decided to stop dying my hair so much, so im using these little bottles of wash in wash out treaments from superdrug. it comes in a little silver bottle, in the hair dye aisle, often next to the wella shaders and toners. its 99p, and the bottle is up to 3 applications. im using the dark red and its covered up my roots and blended into my colour fine. no ammonia aswell and they smell lovely also, iv just tried pantene prov time renewal intensive treatment shots after i coloured i think they are superb if your hair feels a bit brittle after dying and bleaching. i left one on wrapped in a hot towel for about 20 minutes and the colours amazing now, and really shiney I used the dark red one once, but I couldn't really see any difference..Other people said they could though.

A few pages back, but anyhow! I used that when I wanted my hair red. A week later i noticed my hair hair was sort erm "malting"? I want mine red now, I'm getting bored of browny blonde. Only problem is that I refuse to bleach it. So I tried Schwartzkopf stuff which didnt work! Oh well Actually, the Rich Mahogony Shaders and Toners isnt too bad if you just want a red tint to your natural colour.

I have a question. My hair is naturally quite a dark brown, and it's been dyed black, but it's mostly all faded out now, so I don't know if that'll make any difference. But, if I wanted to dye my hair a dark orange/reddish colour, I would need to bleach it, right? Anddddd if I got this done at a hairdressers, do you think they'd bleach it then make me make another appointment to put the dye in?

Indeed. They just asked me what age I was, and I told them I was 13. Which I am, I wouldn't lie just to get a haircut.
