ENOUGH WITH THE SAW MOVIES FILM PEOPLE The first one was good until I watched it for a second time, and then started to think about it, and then realised the acting is atrocious and there are so many stupid plot-holes it's ridiculous... I still enjoy watching them though.

Horror films always have so many sequals. I had a friend who made me watch EVERY Hellraiser sequel once. They get slowly more awful and hilarious as they go on.

The first one was quite enough hilarity alone, surely?

I've not even seen the first Saw movie, yet I have nightmares about the movie all the time. HOW DOES THAT EVEN WORK?

I'm so not convinced about these kinds of films.
Flatmates were watching either Saw or Saw II and I thought "Oh I'll watch this with them, I don't mind horror films, can't be that bad..."
...
I felt really fucking physically ill. I had to go outside and have a cigarette. And I don't even smoke!

Films like this don't shock or bother me, what bothers me is that there is a writer/director/audience sitting there going 'FUCK YEAH! LET'S HAVE SOME MORE DECAPITATIONS AND EYE GOUGINGS TO THE TUNE OF A REALLY FUCKING AWESOME MEGADETH TRACK!!! FUCKING HARDCORE!!!' and completely getting off on it. These people need HELP.
Hostel, for example, was complete garbage. There was just no point to it whatsoever. It bored me.
In Saw, the most chilling thing, to me, was the end.
SPOILER
The unknown fate of the doctor who sawed his foot off, dragging himself away to probably bleed to death; and the desperate screams of the other man, shut in the room and left alone in the dark.
It's the suggested - the psychological horror - that I find more chilling, and will stay with me long after I see someone cutting open a man's stomach to find a key.

Oh shit, it was Hostel that I saw.
Still, I think they're all pretty similar.
Thing that bugs me was that there was an interview with that director on some ponsy film program on the radio, and they were treating him like he was some kind of genius, breaking the boundaries of modern film. No. There's no skill or art or anything anyone given several million dollars and told to make the goriest film they possibly can couldn't do. No one else has done it before because it is... crap. Wahey!

Eli Roth...I think he's a bit of a twat. They're calling him the new Tarantino. No. Tarantino has story, he has characters, he has genius set-ups and dialogue, he has talent. He is not the annoying frat-boy who tries to see how many disembowelings and boobs he can fit into an hour and a half.

I feel weird admitting it, but Reservoir Dogs was the first and only movie to ever make me cry.

Gah. How the hell can they make more?! Isnt the old guy dead?
I hate how every horror movie is either PG-13 crap, or crap with gratuitus nudity and gore. Saw is much better than Hostel, though. Eugh..

Oh my god I really liked Audition. It wasn't scary scary though, except that one part with the burlap sack and the ringing phone. It's really brief.

I absolutely love Asian horror films, so much so that I did a huge A Level media coursework project on it. It was one of the funnest bits of coursework I've ever done. Asian horror films are amazing, anyone who' gets bored or annoyed at the cliches of American horror NEEDS to watch some asian horror :]
