do it! everyone that i know that has done it has /loved/ it. it's worth a little debt, isn't it? i'm not a good financial advisor. My uni in the UK is fab. I go to Bath. The city is stunning and I have lots of great friends. Some really close girly friends who I adore, and a lot of musiciany friends, who keep me entertained. I don't like my degree all that much. But I knew that before I started. My lecturers are great for the most part, but I'm sick of studying. I have no drive because I know it won't be useful to me. Especially now that I speak French well. I sort of feel like I'm done already. Having said that, I can't wait to get back. I love my campus. My library is heaven. mmm squishy sofas in the plug bar. Yay battle of the bands. Hurrah picnics by the lake in between lectures. And I miss the polish bus driver who sings songs over the tannoy. Uni life is bloody fantastic. Is bath good then? I'll be applying next year and i loved bath when i went to the open day, the idea of university scares me so much!

I'll be applying next year and i loved bath when i went to the open day, the idea of university scares me so much! It's great, really. It's a fairly small uni but the union and the facilities are top notch. Bath is a nice alternative city, and then bristol is ten mins away if you want hardcore clubbing. Oh and there are gorgeous pubs, live music and amazing countryside as well. On campus you have to look a little harder for anything alternative, as there are a lot of sporty rich kids, but is there. They are in the process of building a superfantastic arts complex too, so it can only get better. The classes are fairly small and the lecturers are really personable, and will give you support if you need it. Can't think of much wrong with it, except I chose the wrong course. And pick Eastwood as your residence. It's the best! They are the only ones where you get your own gardeny bit...so we had a mahussive paddling pool in the summer. And the cleaning ladies are lovely! Oh pick Bath! Pick Bath!

Um, I have a question. Is studying in London as expensive as everyone makes it out to be? Because at the moment, in my pathetic teenage I-need-constent-amusement-NOW state, I can't really imagine being anywhere else.

I am a Mathematics Major! Computer Science for awhile (now a minor), and while I do love programming, I don't think that world is for me. So now I'm stuck with a major that I've no idea what to do with career-wise. Woeee. BUT, you are not alone. Certainly not! (Though, I do think Biology is weird. Mostly because AP Biology in high school was baffling, but I still got a 3 on the test, which opted me out of taking lab sciences in college, sweeet.)

I was the saem, i was set on leaving London, then right at the last minute change my mind and decided to stay. It is more expensive - the halls are expensive and the lifestyle, i.e. club prices and drink prices compared to other Student Unions, but you will get a higher amount of student loan (and debt), but there are loads of ways to cut corners and you can easily get by on the amount of loan given, there are also loads of grants and bursaries around that you need to search for, its free money! Im glad i stayed in London as i've got to live in different areas of London (i.e. living in Central London is something ill never be able to afford if i wasnt in halls).

Spanish University is really really different, as milindris said. Public universities are as good or even better than the private ones, if you consider facts as the teachers' level and the education, not the sports (which suck in Spanish universities, thank God!) or the buildings. Almost everyone goes to local universities and stays at home. That's what I did. I feel a bit weird after reading all the previous posts, because I loved my university years, I studied Law (am I the only one? yeah, I know lawyers are worst that Satan, but... come on! nobody??) and made my best friends there. I keep a lot of friends from school, but I made great friends in Uni. I wouldn't advice to avoid people or social activities, as was said before. Try to enjoy every single moment, you'll have a lot of chances to be alone when you're older. Life is short, and after Uni comes the "real" work. I mean, a lot of people work while studying (I used to work as a DJ! yay!), but once you've finished your education you've got no excuses, you have to earn money, and then comes the routine, the schedules, the bosses.... I don't know, I guess it depends on each one's personality, but I have very very good memories from those years, so my advice would be try to have fun, and don't let anyone tell you what you should study or do, at last it's your education and your life.

For my A.S levels, I got an A in Geography, A in Art, C in Chemistry and a B in English Lit. I'm really annoyed about the B in English, because I was 2 marks off an A overall, so it has to be sent off to be re-marked. I joined the class in November so I missed a third of the course and had to teach myself it... so I got a C in the module I missed, and then full marks on the Shakespeare paper. Meh.
I got a merit in the English advanced extension award though, which I guess makes up for it because only year 13s take it normally.

Yeah. 5 ASs obligatory Some people did 6/7 AS Levels, I think. But they were like Further Maths that count for 2. 4 A2s obligatory and then General Studies. We've got a counterpart Girls School as well (Devonport High School for Boys/Girls).
