Why did I let this thread get to four pages before I started replying? A hex upon having to work over the Summer... My favourite Disney films are - and always will be - The Little Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast; The Little Mermaid because you can really see something starting (namely, Howard Ashman infiltrating Disney and instilling a lot of much-needed emotional impact into their films, not to mention a whole barrage of outright gayness), and it was the first film I truly connected with on every level; and Beauty and the Beast, because it's a - technically - better film, the score is incredible, and Belle is in no way as grating as Ariel can be. I have a place in my heart for Lilo & Stitch, though. "Provincial Life" from Beauty and the Beast It's called 'Belle' [/Disney nerd]. It's one of my favourite songs, too. Also, extreme appreciation for 'Poor Unfortunate Souls' from The Little Mermaid, 'Heaven's Light / Hellfire' from The Hunchback of Notre Dame and 'If I Never Knew You', a song that was cut from Pocahontas, which a lot of people now know as a godawful, over-produced R&B schlockfest, much to my annoyance. New board rule: anyone who discusses the Pixar films as if they are part of the Disney canon will henceforth be subjected to death by a thousand cuts. I am very passionate about this - clearly, vitally important and rational - opinion of mine, and I'm only have joking when I mention ritual torture. That said, the 'I Will Go Sailing No More' sequence in Toy Story - where Buzz attempts to fly, and then falls on the ground and breaks his arm - is one of the most moving peices of film I've ever scene. That it's followed up by the true genius of Sid's sister having a tea party with Buzz and a bunch of headless dolls only adds to its brilliance. More tea, Mrs Nesbit? But they were animated musicals! The music was kind of the point! And, being musicals, the plot was all there as long as you listened to the words. On that note, I think Pocahontas is storytelling genius; they cover so much ground in the first half an hour that you've gotten to know the characters, established a rift between the two camps, had Pocahontas and John Smith conduct their elicit love affair, and shot the shit with a talking tree. Awesome. (On the subject of talking trees, it always irritates me when people point out how 'surreal' the Studio Ghibli films are, and how you wouldn't get that sort of thing in Disney films; we're talking about elephants on LSD and furniture that can think for itself here, bitches.) Agreed. Also, evidence if ever evidence was needed that Disney aren't the fluffy bunny-peddlers that people often associate them with. The score is beyond phenomenal, too. Try searching The Lion King on deviantart; some of that shit is bananas. Notably, Lion King / Pride of Bagdhad slash. Christ on a bike! Darth skirt-wearing Riku, however. Now that was just hell to beat. It took me about three weeks to knack Riku. I wish I was joking. I've given up on Kingdom Hearts II, though. The pretense of non-linear gaming is what I've always liked about the Squaresoft games, so the fact that the characters blatently tell you what to do next does me in. 'Have I seen The Beast? I think I saw him heading towards The West Wing. Yes, I'd definately check out The West Wing, if I wanted to find The Beast. The West Wing is one of The Beast's favourite places to cool his heels while he's waiting for his GHD's to warm up. What are you still standing there for? I told you; The Beast is in The West Wing. I'm a fucking teapot, for fucks sake, and I even I could work that one out! Moron.' Hate. Cheerio, Michael. xxx EXALTEXALTEXALT. and also thanks for that, i didn't know so i took a wild guess.

At least with the first one there were things to do... Sigh. At least you don't need a walkthrough? I am the kind of person who does NOT enjoy figuring things out for myself. I like to just play the game and get it all right the first time! Mostly, you know, for the story and all.. So, even though the game is annoyingly "go do this now, please, die in a fire if you don't" I still like it. It's goodtimes.

The Jungle Book was THE film of my child hood, along with Oliver, so that has to be top. But now my favourites are the Little Mermaid and the Aristocrats (I listen to 'Everybody wants to be a cat' on an almost daily basis- it's fantastic!) You may have noticed I'm a bit fancy dress obsessed- the next party on the list is a disney themed one- woo! But I'm not sure who to go as. Someone suggested Ariel because of my hair but that means wearing a bikini so that's out. Then I thought Belle, because it would give me an excuse to buy a yellow dress, but no doubt someone else will turn up as a much more belle Belle and it will be rubbish. Now I'm thinking Gus from Cinderella because it would be hilarious to see all the looks on the faces of some of the girls (no doubt working the disney whore look in their pocohontas micro skirts etc) when I turn up dressed as a fat furry mouse...!

I mean, just press it and it's all like, 'FWOAR MATRIX TIME!' Also, it seemed like disney and square couldn't make their plots fit too well, which made the disney bits seem like extra squished in.

Yeah, the triangle buttons are too cheap. My favorite part in the game is when you battle Axel. His chorus of "Like it? Like it? Like it?" and "Dance, water, dance!" make me laugh uncontrollably.

Yeah, the Organization XIII were amazing, I hope they're in the third game. (You will never know the extent of my geekiness for them. Hopefully.)

OHMAGAWDS! (sorry) I forgot Alice in Wonderland! How did I forget?!
That movie is pure awesome. It's just so strangely 50's amazement, from the hookah smoking caterpillar to the dark scary forest. Like, almost risky and frightening but at the same time being a children's film.
Funny how little kids were frightened by the chreshire cat. I love him. He's just so, "Why hello, I'll help you, However I AM insane and I might be grinning just because I plan to eat you in a few seconds."
I, however, am freaked out by the famous 'pink elephant' scene in dumbo. Freaky stuff, man. Freaky stuff.

Oh, and I have to decide on a big choice, for me.
I was given the chance to read Harry Potter one day before it actually comes out. The only give is that I have to read it in exactly eight hours, the entire thing. I read extremely fast, but I don't know.

Apparently there are a bunch of hidden innuendos/pervy stuff in a bunch of Disney films. Like I've heard that the leaves in the tree in the beginning of The Lion King spell out "SEX" or something.
My friend claims to have seen the priest get a boner during a wedding scene in The Little Mermaid. I have yet to check this out.
But anyway! I grew up loving every Disney movie but I seemed to particularly love Pocahontas as a kid and I am pissed everytime I go into the Disney store looking for Pocahontas products because THEY DON'T HAVE ANY GODDAMMIT.
And I hate Finding Nemo with a passion by the way.
