nor can capital letters constrain me.

Capitalism hasn't been sustained throughout history - we had feudalism, and then, only very recently, in the last few hundred years, we've had industrial revolutions and the evolution of capitalism. Again, the whole thing about human nature hinges on the "end of history," as Jacques reminded me. In order to survive, capitalism needs to sell lots of products. Shoes. PCs. Tellies. But in order to maintain higher profits, capitalism also needs to make sure that the people producing these are earning as little as possible. It faces a bit of a contradiction: it has to sell lots of stuff but constantly tried to take as much money off the people who are meant to buy the products. That, and it's an effin' nightmare for the enviroment! If it Also, what's SOCPA? Wasn't feudalism was only in place really through the mediaeval period/dark ages, in Europe? Before that, I guess it depends on how you see things, but I'd say ancient Roman and Greek civilisations were basically capitalist. I mean, obviously there were some elements of feudalism in there, and I think the Vikings/Saxons had a feudal type system. But the ideas aren't new. And this is probably a bad thing to say, but really I don't think that in practical terms feudalism and capitalism are incredibly dissimilar. I'm not saying that they are the same at all, just that I think they cross over, and in very basic terms it's just rich people exploiting poor people. Whereas socialism, communism, anarchism, etc, are completely different. In theory . SOCPA: Serious Organised Crime and Police Act. I'm always surprised at how few people know about it. It's the law that (amongst other things) means you cannot protest within 1km of the Houses of Parliament. Freedom of assembly? What basic right? Hum, beats me
