Oh and why the fuck to I have to be the one to get pregnant and fat if I ever want children, when all he'd have to do was stick it in and then bugger off with someone else cos he loves me but isn't in love with me any more because my stretch marks are ugly....? Dear God, Assuming that you exist (which you probably don't, but whatever) I have a question to ask you. Is this supposed to be some kind of joke? I like the stork idea better. Cheers Dear Hannah. You really should have thought about this one before you (by "you" I mean your original ancestor) thought "oh that fruit over there looks kind of tasty, and we all know theres nowt the exemplifies trustworthiness like a talking snake, I mean he's bound to have your best interests at heart! More so than your benevolent creator who made for you a world of unending beauty without pain or death" Frankly it's been a slippery slope from here on, you never write, you never phone. Yours sincerely God.

Dear God, Since you so willingly responded to Hannah, I have hopes you will respond to me!
Where is that time machine I asked for last year? I'm losing patience.
Love Alicia.

Oh to go back to the good old days when ancient humans worshipped woman and lived in lovely little matriarchical societies... The Matriarchal Pre-History is a myth, sorry to say. (Edit: Or I should say, there isn't enough evidence to determine if it ever was.) Does anyone have any good reading materials to recommend on this subject? I've been told to read Emma Goldman (by my anarchist feminist friends) and I think I'll check some out the next time I'm at the library; does anyone have any suggestions while I'm there?

Dear God, Since you so willingly responded to Hannah, I have hopes you will respond to me! Where is that time machine I asked for last year? I'm losing patience. Love Alicia. Dear Tesla. Instead of answering your question though my beloved son Joshua, who pleases me greatly (his name even means loved by God, which I do though I occasionally wish he would shut up about Doctor Who and Luke "baiting" him for five flippin' seconds) I thought I would cut out the middle man and come and answer your questions first hand. You will find your answer in my second book The New Testament (which rarely for a sequel is better than the original despite what certain heathens will tell you. It's a bit like the Kill Bill films, the first Testament is all action, the second one is more a "talky") specifically in Matthew 6:7/8 "And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him" to put it curtly "I want" doesn't get! Yours Sincerely God.

That's good. Why are you in Spain? studying. Don't get me wrong, Spain is lovely, but Malaga is the worst possible place for me to be. Flashy and sleazy and urggghh. And I am a winter baby. I just melt here. I need to get a Hannah shaped container in case I turn to liquid and end up going down the drains. They smell bad. Also- Dear God, Despite the fact that you have a proper sexy moustache, I think you are a git for bringing Grandma into this. Everyone knows you made that story up cos she thought your garden was shit. All that paradise bollocks- didn't even have a jacuzzi... Isn't your term up by now anyway? You've been banging on about the same old policies for literally bloody ages. We need a goddess, for god's (your) sake- dude, this is the 21st century....men are weak, rubbish and insignificant. And as far as saying I never call or write, I go to church every christingle! Which is more than you ever do, up there on your poncey throne in the clouds stuffing your face with philadelphia. Can't you just get the sims or something instead of fucking all our lives up? yours sincerely, Ms.Brown p.s I am still going to heaven right? Because if not, my mum will kick your ass.

Ok, to go back to the whole Socialism thing. Do you (by you I mean Clare ) not think that capitalism is in fact what humans default to? To say Capitalism is unsustainable doesn't really make sense. Capitalism has been sustained throughout history. I also think that Socialism expects too much of people. People don't want revolution. People want the comfort that the current system gives them. They want TV and cars and takeaways and short term happiness and they don't want to turn everything upside down for a system that provides very little practical benefit to them. The majority of people have learned to be happy as they are, and no Government is going to let things get out of hand enough that a significant proportion of people are unhappy enough to want a revolution. I mean, look at how they've been sneaking in legislation that just pisses all over our civil liberties. I think that if there was no general public backlash against SOCPA, there will never be one against anything. Look at the turnout at general elections. People are apathetic. I doubt that will change. I forget where I was going with this. But it's depressed me and I don't want to carry on.

Socialism + the nature of most humans doesn't work too well, unfortuantely.
People are selfish bastards.
PS: I am not a fan of capitalism, but I have not yet found a system that seems divine.

Sorry, I'm going away from you two's discussion, but I thoguht I would throw my views in. I would involve myself in that, but I know very little about Socialism.
Admittedly I know absolutely nothing about feminist theory or anything beyond the history of Suffrage - I'm definitely seeking to remedy that over the summer. I'm not entirely sure it matters that it's not my mastermind subject because I think my views are pretty fair and well-thought out!
I wouldn't say I was 'offended' by men being PROUD to emphasise with the ladies, but I would say it's a might shame that they do. I think everyone, regardless of gender should not be just feminist - but for gender equality in general. I can't say that I'm not sexist - I am. Towards my own gender, no less. I think to some extent, I still identify with gender roles eg. housewives and such, but I try to think hard about my prejudices, y'know?
Examples: I find it funny that I find guys talking about wanking hilarious, yet when girls do, I find it quite awkward and weird.
Just thought I would, like, throw it out there.

Capitalism hasn't been sustained throughout history - we had feudalism, and then, only very recently, in the last few hundred years, we've had industrial revolutions and the evolution of capitalism. Again, the whole thing about human nature hinges on the "end of history," as Jacques reminded me. In order to survive, capitalism needs to sell lots of products. Shoes. PCs. Tellies. But in order to maintain higher profits, capitalism also needs to make sure that the people producing these are earning as little as possible. It faces a bit of a contradiction: it has to sell lots of stuff but constantly tried to take as much money off the people who are meant to buy the products. That, and it's an effin' nightmare for the enviroment! If it Also, what's SOCPA?

My sister was telling me about a bumper sticker like that this weekend! I was thoroughly amused. I told her I thought women were puppies. But now I know better, it is okay! Thanks, feminism.

Have people seen this? It's not only shocking, upsetting and disgusting; but it's a typical example of sexism in our courts. Women? Raped? Nahhhh, they invited it. Little girls? Raped? Nahhhhh, they're "precocious."

This does disturb me, as does al children dresing like adults. It's just bizarre. It reminds me of a case in the 90s, where Judge Pickles (real name) let rapists who had raped women in short skirts go without reprimand, as he felt that dresing provocatively was "asking to be raped"
