good lord sticking stuff up there in general = no thnkz EXALT!!! I am not alone in this world... Though it sucks that I can't go swimming during that time. Damn it all. What if you drop the thing right after you take it out to clean it? ROFLZ. Eww. Especially if you're in a public restroom... like I can just imagine someone accidentally dropping it near the egde of the stall, and this old lady sitting in the stall next to her seeing a small puddle of blood forming. LOLOLOLOL. I was laughing so hard, I was near tears. hahaha

Clare, you speak so much sense.
If menstrual cups mean reducing waste, less money spent on pads, etc, then I will gladly deal with any semi-gross concequences of using one. And I was reading a cup LiveJournal community (shush!) and women have been using them, like, research scientists using them in the wilds of Australia without problems. Come on, people. I've also heard testimonials of women who have switched from paper products to cloth pads and things and have noticed lighter periods, which I wouldn't mind at all.
Ugh. I despise my period. I get the worst cramps, to the point of nausea and being curled up in a ball. Not fun.

Right. I guess I'm the only one who has pain-free periods.
P.S. At first, I thought this thing was supposed to be much bigger than 2 inches. I should pay more attention....

I have virtually pain-free periods now that I am on a nice pill. It took forever to find one that doesn't make me gain weight and bleed between periods though.

I wonder what cavewomen did when they got their periods. Make a tampon out of leaves and twigs?

I dunno, I have a vague memory about learning about that. I think they used cloths, or just sat on chairs all day or something. I just remember hearing some bible story that involved a women decieving a man who was looking for something by saying something to the effects of "I am on my period" when she was really sitting on it. This may or may not have been a dream also. But I'm fairly sure it wasn't.

Sitting on a chair all day doesn't work for me. Unfortunately.

You don't have to go back to cavewomen to go back to days without pads and tampons. They used bunched up cloth.

That's better than sitting on a chair all day, at least.
