I'm deliberating on the whole "ruin it for as many people as possible" thing. Banners over bridges and such. I missed out on the whole "DUMBULDOOR DYEZ!!!" thing last time, so I might well be an utter twat this time around...

I have not yet been to one for any previous book so I basically HAVE to go this time. If I don't, it'd be a mortal Wizardly Sin! AND I AM SO DRESSING UP NO MATTER WHAT MY MOM SAYS!Dressing up is (more than?) half the fun! And there are always those people who dress up as something else, like last time someone was a ninja. We begged him to enter the costume contest, but he refused and then spirited off into the night.

maybe the ninja was just a foreshadowing of the next book!

I can't wait for the next HP film but must admit that I barely even remember reading the book. A few people I've spoken to have the same problem, I don't know anybody who still liked it a month after reading it.

His Dark Materials: The Golden Compass Sneek Peek. The CGI is still in production Debs www.youtube.com/watch?v=58X4o_41FrcMy god, I never knew Eva Green was in it. This is going to be awesome. The girl who plays lyra looks really good as well, and has that determined lil' bitch look about her. Apparently her acting skills are quite astonishing.

I wonder what they’re going to do about the religious undertones. It’s not like they could avoid it.

December is too far away... EDIT: There's a bit more of the film on Sky News (press the red button, go to showbiz and watch the loop), and on this clip Iorek speaks.

I wonder what they’re going to do about the religious undertones. It’s not like they could avoid it. When the Director Chris Weitz originally took on the project he said that it would be written in a way to be a criticism of all general overbearing authorities and wouldnt focus on religion itself, however he has since left the project and come back again, so dont know where it stands now - its so essential to the plot that it needs the religious elements though, particularly through its connection to Paradise Lost, so i hope there still in the film.

I wonder what they’re going to do about the religious undertones. It’s not like they could avoid it. I've heard a lot of people complaining about this - and I agree, to some extent, largely because if they took the religious undertones (which have pretty much become, erm, tones at this point) out of The Amber Spyglass, it'd be a documentary on the Mulefa - but I don't think the religious themes are as overt in Northern Lights; it could just be a pretty little film about witches, daemons and talking polar bears that want to kill each other, as long as they have all that hush-hush stuff about Lyra being Eve . Cheerio, Michael. xxx

Wait, I'm uber confused and can't be arsed to read all this over. What the heck are The Amber Spyglass and Northern Lights?! There two books in another popular (and imo better) 'childrens' book series His Dark Materials trilogy by Philip Pullman: 1: Northern Lights/Golden Compass, 2: Subtle Knife 3: Amber Spyglass, you should definetally read them if you haven't.

does anyone know if harry takes off his clothes. After the righteously disturbing pictures from Equus, I'd have to ask that he keep them on for the time being. Cheerio, Michael. xxx

I saw a trailer for this today and although I am dreading DanRad's "serious and moody" acting, I will probably see it. Parts of it looks all kinds of awesome.

I had a Harry Potter movie marathon one day when I was still at school (I probably had an exam or something to study for) and I think the 4th movie is my favourite. The third one was pretty rad also. I agree with Christina (I think it was her) who said that the first two really aren't very good. Although it's really funny to watch the first one because the children are so young and Dan's acting is at it's worst.
Why Daniel Radcliffe?! Why!!!?

Not to mention his manliness in the process of this said "serious and moody" acting. That moment in Goblet when he threw himself atop the dead body of Cedric, wailing in a toddler-esque high pitched tone? BRILLIANT. I smell Oscar.
