I was in monorail in glasgow a few years ago browsing the new releases and saw wind in the wires and thought the lad on the cover was a bit of a looker so I thought I'd give his cd a try and I ended up quite liking it.

I was watching people's Project 365 journals, and one day this one girl posted pictures of her Patrick Wolf albums and was going on and on about him. Intrigued, I set out to find what the big fecking deal was. I purchased Lycanthropy and instantly fell in Love.

There's a huuuuuuuge festival each year in austria. The Donaufestival. It's about a few weeks long, but you don't camp. You can buy tickets for single days, or evenings. And me and my sister were looking if there's anyone playing we know, and Patrick Wolf was playing. She has told me about him before and I knew the Libertine from the radio (without knowing it was a patrick wolf song). My sister said she wanted to go there, so I took the only patrick wolf CD we had, lycanthropy, and listened to it. Then I became obsessed. Then I came home at 6 in the morning altjough I should have been at home by 2 and my mother said I'm not alowed to go to the concert, though I already had the ticket. Well, I thought of just dying by unhappyness or if I just should go there, the concert was in an other town I have to mention. 2 days before the concert my mother said that she thought through it and I'm allowed to go there.
I was at his backstageroom. But he wasn't there, because when I was there, there were no securities and it was about 4 in the evening, so, yeah, erhm, I should have been waiting for him. That was a biiiig mistake. That was the second time that I had a very little chance to get to know him and didn't take it. The first one was that he recorded parts of the magic position in vienna, and I know where. but I didn't know when he was in vienna, I found it out a half year later.

My best friend told me about him. I'm so glad she did because I've been hooked ever since.

I heard Accident and Emergenceeeeeeee.... Live!insession!! on BBC radio 6 last year some time. Or might have been earlier this year. I thought it was exactly the kind of noise someone with a name like Patrick Wolf would, nay should, make. Bought all the albums, muchly liked them blahblahblah.

i was waiting at the bus stop that was in front of the record store one fine day in 2004, and i heard the girl who was waiting next to me blasting "bloodbeat" on her stereo (it was actually quite funny, she was carrying it around on her shoulder like rap artists do) and i was like OMG WHO IS THAT and she told me who it was and i sprinted back inside the record store and bought lycanthropy. oh yeah, and i missed the bus so i had to wait for 10 minutes until the next one came, and i tore the wrapping apart and gazed upon greatness. PRETTY MAGICAL, HUH?

well my friend found him first and made me listen to bloodbeat, and i thought it was okay, so i downloaded (i know i know) all the songs from lycanthropy, i didn't listen for a while and then heard the childcatcher on a big messy mix cd i made and i was like 'who is that??' but still i didn't get into his music completely till i saw the video for 'wind in the wires' on youtube, it must have been all that sexy writhing about. ;x

My friend talks about Patrick all the time. I even know a bunch of useless information about him (: But aye, she wants to go to Scotland to see him because he isn't coming over here which sucks for her.

I'm stupidly forgetful, proven right now by the fact I had no idea I'd joined these forums (seriously, back in February? If you say sooo..) so I can't remember exactly when or how I found out about Patrick. All I remember was constantly coming across his name on various music forums last year and it was around that time I was just listening to all sorts of music to try and find something that clicked for me so I decided to check him out and I think thats when I heard and fell in love with The Libertine. The insane fandom followed when I finally got to see him live this year (yeah I'm slow) in Feb. The rest is erm..history..and not exciting history at that.

a few reasons, 1) someone posted about him on a music blog 2) they said he played violin and wore glitter 3) i had an obsession with red hair at the time
i get the same shut up about patrick wolf from a few people.. one in particular.. and the other day i was in his car and he has one of those itrip things, so i put patrick on from my ipod and didn't tell him what it was.. and he liked it. hypocrite.

someone put tristan up on the net and said it was the most awesome thing ever. and the rest's pretty much history.
it is quite freaking awesome!
plus i have a thing for boys with violins. it's the instrument i most desperately want to learn but can't (damn rosin and nose bleeds)

i was living in the off topic section of the mcfly official boards (no music snobbery please, and it was the off topic section) and there was a group of people with patrick as their signatures and he looked quite intriguing so i asked who he was and we got chatting from there. i went and had to find out everything about him and own everything he'd done, so i did. and it's fucking amazing. i'm such a fangirl now. big time, yaaay.

I was watching a Horrors video on youtubes and a link to one of his videos (I think it was Magic Position) came up at the end so I watched it because I was bored and I loved it

Sometime ago, around late 2005 I'd say, I saw his name floating around on The Libertines forum. It was probably a couple of months before I actually gave him a listen. First song I heard was Wolf Song, and since then he's been one of my favorites.
