Oh my YES!! How cool, did you follow me before or after you posted in here lol! Of course no problem I love discussing Patrick and sharing what little wisdom I can give. You must fill us in on what happened at ALL your gigs so, Jessie. I agree with Cat, he must look at his mentions and think ''oh god here he is again'' about me I think he's replied or retweeted me about ten times but cause he also follows me I forget sometimes when I'm tweeting about other stuff and think oh god Patrick saw that or this haha....when I mentioned my username to him to see if he recognsised me he was like''Oh yes!! I love you, you're so passionate...really!!'' I was beaming...still am. Yeah I really think that Sundark and Riverlight T-Shirt is the must have item for the tour Jessie. It's practical enough that you could wear it without it being in everyone's faces yet anyone who knows you will know it's Patrick related!! Ha yes Cat my entire family and friends are exactly the same. They're so curious about him cause they know more about him than ''bigger celebrities'' from me yet they are like how come he's not more famous and I'm like his music is too special and life changing for just anyone to listen to it...that and I'm careful WHO I share him with too...lest they try to become more obsessed than me hahaha. Also Cat I love the I ''accidently spent £60'' haha so true. When I saw him I bought The City on Vinyl even though I already had it...why? ''just in case'' and a tote bag which I have hanging in my room seeing as I'd look quite strange carrying a tote bag around town being a guy and all although I could pull it off seeing as it's Patrick

I was following you before and didn't realize it! It was funny because I saw your twitter username on here and i looked and I was already following you. It must have been from the twitter suggestion. Then Catriona and I commented on something Patrick said on Facebook while I was answering you guys on here. I thought this was just too funny! I love that, though. I have always met my best friends through music. I am really so glad I found this board, because I do feel like I drive people crazy. My friend ordered me the Patrick Wolf tea towel for my birthday just to get me to shut up. I was so happy! My husband was like, "what in the world is a tea towel? Why would someone sell a tea towel?" I said, "You don't understand it's perfect! Patrick wanted 2 dogs, 2 cats a big FUCKING fdfghjkKITCHEn and a welcome mat and now he loves his house." I still get picked on for saying that! lol. But it's true, his music is like one big journey, you can't just be like, "I like "Tristan". I don't get the people who say things like Lupercalia isn't Wind In the Wires, etc. If you listen to all the albums in order it's so cool because it's Patrick, music, art, writing, etc. all growing and evolving. That's awesome, it's not just "that's a cool song." He seems to be getting more positive attention now but before I'd seen some hateful things people said and I'm just like, how in the world could you not want someone you admire/respect to find happiness? I think some people get it and some people don't. (Although it's hard to understand why they don't!). I totally agree - it is life changing. Every day I'm like how could I have ever not known this music? lol. It is crazy. I only heard of him like 6 months ago so I also really can't believe I'm going somewhere to see him. Anyway! I'll shut up! I am getting off topic, but I will post as soon as I can about the shows. I am literally counting the days! Oh - and yes schizoeclectic, I do like Adam Lambert, Lady Gaga and Marina! It is funny, ten years ago I never would have imagined myself liking any pop music, but I guess times have changed a lot. It makes me even happier to have found Patrick since he has so much more depth to his music and lyrics.

Brilliant! It's destiny haha...I really meant what I said I ADORE Patrick's fans as a group we really are so mature in our passion for him. Like I've never seen a bad thing said about his fanbase well not in the last 3-4 years. So many people have become friends through these boards as well it's amazing!!
I love SO many artists and mainly less known ones eg in Ireland not many people would know Adam or Patrick so to discover someone who knows BOTH is so extreme for me haha.
I just adore how you described Patrick and his evolution. That's why I HATE when people I know look him up and I'm like what songs did you see and they are like ''Magic Position'' and ''The City'' and I'm like oh the happy ones...see I prefer his (sun)darker music BUT adore it all but when introducing them I would start with Lycanthropy just because I always start with an artists first album when I want to get into them and work my way up that is if you discover them after they have been out for a while.
I adored this by the way. I'm beaming >>
''My friend ordered me the Patrick Wolf tea towel for my birthday just to get me to shut up. I was so happy! My husband was like, "what in the world is a tea towel? Too true and cute! We have really ruined this thread haha. We ahould just move to a Cat, Damien, Jessie thread hehe...

"to all Sun☽ark &Riverlight concert goers..
Deciding to clear out my archives of unheard live, home and studio recordings collected over the years. so handmaking a series of numbered limited edition “archive” e.p s available to buy at each show on the tour this year, here’s me with the first one made backstage in philadelphia this afternoon <3PW"
*SHRIEKS* i want them aaaaaaaaaaall!!!!!!!
i know the merch right? you tell yourself you'll just have a look and before you know it you've bought something. i'm especially bad because i tell myself that i absolutely do not need this or that, and then i go to another show, look at the merch again (although i know it) and suddenly i've bought another thing. i carefully avoided calculating what i spent on merch last tour XD
but omg the archive eps! now i'm in a personal conflict because i'll want to get them from the gigs i'm attending, but i want to be in front as well (nearly all 'my' shows are free seating)! hey future waiting-in-line-for-doors-to-open buddies, can we strike a deal? on entrance, one person darts for front row spots, the other for the merch table?
i'm fairly sure i'd set off any stalker-radar just with the number of shows i'm going to...

schizoeclectic - haha yes, we probably need to start our own thread! We will be the reason Twitter breaks down today as well! I'm going to be in so much trouble at work because all I have done is worry about this. I'm expecting any minute to get an email from my manager saying "What is a Patrick Wolf?" Yes, my husband will occasionally ask me "so how are Patrick's dogs and cats doing?" Last night was just terrible. He decided that Patrick sounds like Cher & Elvis (does not!) so he was doing his really bad Jack Mcfarland (Will & Grace) impression of Cher impression of Patrick. He's crazy. But I have caught him singing "Magic Position" so that's good considering he only listens to & plays Beatles and metal. ANYWAY...... Direct me to our thread so we can continue that conversation! My first show is tomorrow night and I'm SO excited. Thank you all for being so sweet and friendly. I will try to get pics and let you know about the E.P.s. I wonder how much they are? I am lucky both NYC shows are seated, but the Boston show is is standing. From everything I've read I'm thinking he will be at the merch table. I'm just worried about making my friend stand around and wait on me. I saw the perfect gift for Patrick and I didn't get it, so I'm kicking myself and going back to the shop today and hope they still have it. All of my friends think this is (one) of the craziest things I've ever done, so thank you all for not making me feel like a freak.

niwo - You pretty much summed up myself at gig's...I always feel so selfish at gig's wanting all the merch and then front row and then the setlist but in fairness if you are as hardcore as some of us on here don't we deserve the little Patrick rewards? I know that at my gig I was panicking for front row and when we finally got in....everyone was just standing around casually so hopefully that might be the case.... jessie yes I will start a new thread for us now and see you over there haha x

I NEED THOSE EPs!!!!!!!!!! Just about had a heart attack when i saw that tweet! I've been trying for years to get hold of every song Patrick's ever written and most of the unreleased songs i have are terrible quality - this is like a dream come true But (as far as i can tell) it sounds like there's going to be different EPs available at different shows, and i know this is greedy but i need every one of those songs!!! Yes, Niwo that's what i was worrying about - that's what we'll do in Glasgow, one of us can run and get front row seats and one of us can run straight to the merch table and buy the EPs ;D Haha that thread is a good idea Damien, i feel like we were starting to spam this thread rather a lot

I decided I need to treat myself. The lad I'm looking after, and his girlfriend, can look after the kitten (Millie), and my cat (Mr. Tiddles Wolfie - twitter account Mister_T_Wolfie, I kid you not) while I see Patrick at Salford. I'm far back in Row N in the stalls but hey ho, I'll be there, or at least I've bought a ticket and plan to be there.

Selling 2 x Front Row central tickets to Patrick Wolf at the Warwick Arts Centre on Saturday 24th November, make an offer, at least face value or share it to people who might be interested.

Hello I don't post here very often, but I am a huge PW fan. I live in Brazil but I'll be in Frankfurt for his concert at the Künstlerhaus Mousonturm. Anyone else going? I'd love to meet a fellow fan and hang out before/after the show!

soo...Hamburg. where shall I begin? ;D Obviously it was amazing and the acoustic in the theatre-like hall was one of the best I've heard Patrick play in yet So that was very very satisfying for a start. But first things first: Me and my friends came a bit late, but the doors opened about half an hour later anyways, so that was lucky for us. We did get front row seats, but decided to sit in another area because those front row seats were so close to the edge of the stage, one would've only been able to see Patrick's back while he played the piano. It was a good decision. (We could see the sound guy doing his work, which was kind of amusing, because he had to turn down the volume a bit on Patrick's mic several times when his marvellous voice was a wee bit too loud. 't was beautiful. Abi Wade was the support act and my was I smitten Hadn't heard any of her songs but her voice and unusual cello playing won me over instantly. Did I say the location was beautiful? Well, it was. Minimalistic and theatre-like seating and lightening, all black, nothing to distract one from the performances. After the break during which we smuggled in drinks we bought in a shop (the prices at the bar were crime! ), 't was time for Patrick. We had hoped for Vicky, but were equally satisfied with the new girl who played the piano, viola, violin and the saw <3 and Craig on the oboe, which was somewhat of a surprise. Patrick went without his usual dramatic entrance and no one even applauded because it was such a beautiful quiet and modest moment I guess (He was wearing black breeches, knee socks and black shoes and a nice black jacket with puff sleeves and under it a white blouse with similar sleeves. Very mediaeval and troubadour-style, like the S&R photos. He looked the most natural in it, like he had timetravelled to us or sth. ;D ) He began with a very very beautiful version of London in which he mixed several lines from other songs (I can't recall them exactly though, Demolition and Pigeon Song maybe...not sure though). The applause was immense. He seemed very intimidated by the location and us sitting there in silence I guess, because he was very quiet for almost half of the concert. Well and he was jet-lagged of course He talked very little at first, only thank-you's and cheers and his performance was really THE best, most professional I've seen yet. He even got the Bermondsey lyrics right ;D His harp playing was so very beautiful (he's practiced a lot I guess ) He said he was so glad to be in Hamburg because now he could see the fall and see the leaves fall off the trees, because he likes to see the change of the seasons so much and in the US and Australia he couldn't witness that of course etc. 'But they have other things there...like...cactus.' ;D So sweet. Hm and he had to laugh a bit pointing at the video projections on the black curtain behind him, saying those were old vacation videos made by his parents. They were really very sweet. I had to keep myself from laughing out loud while he played Bluebells, because there was young Patrick in one of those videos looking particularly adorable in a pillory, grinning. ;D Others included little Patrick stroking a white rabbit, him and his sister running in a meadow and so on...You'll enjoy them, pay some attention when you can bear to turn away from the performance for some moments He did an encore of The City and...well I don't remember, there was no written setlist to help me remember it now. The applause was so thounderous that he came back for a 2nd encore (!!!) and asked us what we wanted to hear, whether we wanted to go home happy or depressed, he could also do a mixture of both. He decided on Wolf Song, which was the perfect ending for the evening imho. He said this piano version was the way he initially wanted to record the song but his label told him he'd sound so old and that he should enjoy and celebrate his youth in that song/record etc. So the Wolf Song piano version did sound very very lovely and grown-up and reminiscent in a way. Standing ovations, needless to say. I had given that concert ticket to my friend as a birthday gift and I was so touched that she was as touched and overwhelmed as I had been on my first Patrick gig, it was a very fulfilling evening. And very funny to watch my friend react to some songs Okey-dokey, setlist. erm ask me someting easier I suck at remembering setlists ;D so, in no particular order, those were the songs he played (those I remember ): London Overture Vulture The Magic Position Teignmouth Penzance ;D Bitten Hard Times Oblivion Paris Bluebells AUGUSTINE!!! (I kid you not! ) Bermondsey Street Shadow Sea Tristan House Armistice The Falcons WILLIAM!!! (not all of it, but isn't that great? ) The City Wolf Song and a cover I didn't recognize, if I'm not completely mistaken We didn't wait for him outside because we had to catch a bus, but it was a great evening! p.s.: He's still selling EP1, we had the 'made in Los Angeles' edition 25€ per CD.

That sounds amazing I already want to see him again! It sounds like you had a wonderful time and I really wish I could have heard "Augustine" & "William" unless I've just forgotten he didn't play it at any of my shows. He seemed very intimidated by the location and us sitting there in silence I guess, because he was very quiet for almost half of the concert. Well and he was jet-lagged of course I thought the same thing at Joe's Pub! it was weird to be eating and drinking 2 feet from him. The venue had a minimum so we didn't really have a choice. Boston was awkward because it was a much bigger stage and it felt like we were all at some orchestra performance. If he'd done a Q&A in Boston I had every intention of asking him if we had to stay seated! Maybe I was just overly excited but it just felt weird to be stuck in a chair at PW. He said he was so glad to be in Hamburg because now he could see the fall and see the leaves fall off the trees, because he likes to see the change of the seasons so much and in the US and Australia he couldn't witness that of course etc. 'But they have other things there...like...cactus.' That's funny and unfortunately true I miss Fall and Winter here, we really just don't have it anymore. The last big snow where I live was in 1993! Anyway, I'm glad you had a wonderful time! Will you get to go to any other shows this tour?

It was amazing Yeah, it was awkward to stay seated (especially for the Magic Position songs) and since I've been to other shows where we were standing, I know he normally 'unbends' after the first 3-5 songs. But maybe he was as well a bit nervous because at an acoustic show you hear EVERY false note or chord And he was on stage with only 2 other people when he normally has a real band. Hm I'd swap with you for a year or so, I'm a bit tired of seasons I'd like to have summer most of the time. ;D I'm going to the Berlin show on thursday But that'll be it for me.

Wow it sounds incredible!!! And i'm so jealous of that setlist Aww, wow i'd love to see this video projection - i hope he has that when he comes here! It sounds like such a beautiful night, and that's so nice that your friend loved it so much! Hold on, was the EP not $25 dollars in America... is the euro not worth quite a bit more than the dollar? Haha i bet they're going to be £25 when he comes here and we'll end up having to pay most of all! Jessie i know how you feel, last year Edinburgh was the first show of Lupercalia tour so when everyone was talking about their shows afterwards i just wished i could rewind time! So it's maybe quite good Glasgow's near the end of the tour this year... although i hate having to wait so long! I've only been seated at a PW gig once (at the Palladium), but by the time it got near the end most of us were standing. It was such a strange experience for me though because i was up in the circle and Patrick was so far away - i'm used to him being a metre or two away from me! It was the most wonderful atmosphere though - it was this huge special one off show and it was a miracle for me just to witness it (it really was, you've no idea how difficult it was to persuade my parents - but i just knew i HAD to be there!). Anyway... i'll shut up about that now I thought that was so strange about that gig where everyone was sitting eating - am i the only with an inability to eat when Patrick's around? The first time i ever saw him i was waiting outside during the day, and every single time my friend went to get us food without fail Patrick would turn up so i'd completely lose my appetite! And at the Palladium i forgot all about food for about 12 hours - it was only on the way back to the hotel i suddenly noticed how hungry i was (the only food i could find to buy was a family sized bag of crisps and i ate the whole thing in about a minute i was so hungry!!!) Swap you some summer for some winter Jessie? Haha i think summer just got missed out for us this year - it went from spring straight to autumn in June and now we're getting winter weather in the middle of October (yesterday was colder than the average December day, seriously!) I wouldn't be surprised it started snowing sometime soon
