I found lyric for Divine Intervention on tumblr, but nothing for Mercia. Exept few words on Patrick's twitter. twitter.com/#!/_PATRICK_WOLF/status/77515030425382912 And it's hard to figure out it as i'm not speak English perfectly Can someone help me with this? Divine InterventionYou’ll be filled, filled with the good things again You’ll be fulfilled, you’ll be filled full When I lived in Olympia I would drink myself to sleep Sleepwalk in coma deep When I lived in Olypmia I closed my heart and prayed for scythe To come deliver before first light My wrong was right When my father called, wouldn’t let him in My sister rang to no answering Thinking of sin, this love in me Lost to a shame that had hollowed me. I let no one in. I was thinking of sin, thinking of sin, thinking of sin, of this love in me. I travelled north by north-west And found no love, found no love South by south-west Found no love, found no love South, back to north And still no love, so back to source Where you came to me said "you are my love, welcome back to love” And you threw me down on my filthy bed "Good stock you are" you said Loved me deeper than anyone has ever been You saw in me, i’ve been unseen (actually i hear something like You saw me beyond the sea or something)My darling, my conqueror, the conqueror, the conqueror You said "we’ll find feet for you, boy, on the good earth, the good earth” You’ll find feet on the good earth again You’ll be fulfilled, you’ll be filled full. My darling, my conqueror You’ll find feet on the good earth again You’ll be fulfilled, you’ll be filled full. Kiss you goodnight. in case this is not official, there might be some mistakes i think.

All can hear clearly is I'll be loving you for all my time Be the one who wakes beside you Mine is yours Yours is mine I know you grew up in country I grew up in city Why can't we grew both together? Drive up to the cliffs and watch So darling come on dance with me Gypsy, dance with me So we really need his help, yeah... Actually there is plus in that you have not heard of Divine Intervention, cause i've already used to wrong itunes version

I'm bored so here is my terrible attempt at the Mercia lyrics: It was a day to forget The sun shone through golden apples in the wheat field (?) We wondered devil lanes up to the house your brother said was haunted Someone once had been murdered there You gave me a kiss I’ll never regret I’ll be loving you for all my time Be the one that walks beside you Mine is yours Yours is mine The next day in Wicksteed park Your sister ( ) showed us ( ) abandoned, through us Your eyes could be your mind (?) (Maybe "Your eyes could read my mind"?) The starlings gathered on the lawns for the leaving of the midlands These lands you were born and raised in I’ll be loving you for all my time Be the one that walks beside you Yours is mine I know you grew up in country I grew up in city But can we grow old together Drive up to the cliffs and watch the weather wild (?) in the sunlight Those days we were younger Love bound, but lines (?) we escaped Mine is yours if yours is mine So darling come and dance with me, gypsy dance with me Time to leave behind the midlands Definitely a lot of mistakes. That "Your sister..." line isn't making any sense to me!

I was working on this just now as well.
I think the part in Mercia is something like this:
I know you grew up in the country I grew up in the city but can we grow both together drive up to the cliffs watch the weather wild and innocent like those days we were younger laugh about the lives (lies?) we escaped
Also, it's most likely "dappled lanes".
Does anybody here have a copy of Divine Intervention with the proper pitch? I am curious about the sound at the end of the version that I have (had a friend get it off iTunes for me, and can't get a new version at the moment). I have a feeling that it just might fade into Mercia. But maybe that's where the pitch error originated as well, since Mercia is BEFORE Divine Intervention on the digital single. What I'd like to know is if the sound is still there in the "proper" version. Anybody?

The clip does NOT have that little fade-in sound at the end, which unfortunately doesn't mean much since someone's made a video version of the audio + still picture. But yes, it does sound more like an accurate version. Although... it's very noisy & poor quality audio, which is quite far from how it actually sounds. I still love the song and consider it one of his best since... The Tinderbox, which was by far the best Bachelor-era track.

I don't think that is the correct version. It's the exact same speed (i think!) as the "fast" version, it's just the pitch has been changed - i think the correct version is supposed to be slower too. ^great. I'm so deeply in love with the "incorrect" version of this song you've no idea how awkward I feel about this "correct" version Me too, i got so used to the "fast" version it will be strange hearing the proper version! And it's still not on (uk) itunes btw You saw in me, i’ve been unseen (actually i hear something like You saw me beyond the sea or something)I thought that line was "You saw in me all the unseen" which would make more sense, but it sounds like it could be either. I absolutely love Divine Intervention!!! And Mercia ;D

And there's a bit of Tinderbox's violin melody at some point during Divine Intervention I love The Tinderbox too! At the Palladium show Divine Intervention was the introduction, i'd never heard it before and my first thought was that it sounded like The Tinderbox But i think i like Divine Intervention even better.

I thought I'd share something useful with you guys. If you want to "fix" the track speed for yourselves, it's easily achievable. 1. First, download Audacity (a freeware audio editing tool) and install and run it. 2. Make a backup copy (in case you mess up) of your Divine Intervention track and drag&drop the file into the Audacity window or open it the usual way. 3. Make sure the entire waveform is selected, then go to the "effect" tab and select "Change speed". Set it to around -4 somewhere (move the slider to the left) and click ok. 4. Then you just save the resulting file as some kind of audio format, preferrable the same type the original was in, and listen and enjoy! /t

I've corrected the Mercia lyrics i thought were wrong (but i always mishear lyrics so i might not be right!): It was a day not to forget The sun shone golden apples through the wheat field We wandered dappled lanes up to the house your brother said was haunted Someone once had been murdered there You gave me the kiss I’ll never regret I’ll be loving you for all my time Be the one that walks beside you Mine is yours Yours is mine The next day in Wicksteed park Your sister ( ) showed us those abandoned thrill rides (That line sounds like "Your sister in the showed us those abandoned thrill rides"!) Your eyes could be your mind (?) The starlings gathered on the lawns for the leaving of the midlands These lands you were born and raised in I’ll be loving you for all my time Be the one that walks beside you Yours is mine I know you grew up in country I grew up in city But can we grow both together Drive up to the cliffs and watch the weather wild and innocent like Those days we were younger Laugh about the lines (?) we escaped Mine is yours if yours is mine So darling come and dance with me, gypsy dance with me Time to leave behind the midlands

In Mercia: "Your sister ( ) showed us those abandoned thrill rides" is "Your sister-in-law showed us those abandoned thrill rides" I also have two corrections to Divine Intervention: "You'll be filled, filled with the good things again" should be "You'll be filled full with the good things again" and I THINK "My wrong was right" is "How wrong was I?" I slowed Divine Intervention by -10 to get it to sound properly like Patrick. Should I upload a version onto Youtube to show how it sounds that way, so we can at least find the right speed?

Okay, Birdsheart. Thanks for the link. I don't know if it's fixed yet, but wanted to make sure the people who already bought it had access to a correct version. ^_^ Edit: The preview sounds right...

so they're almost perfect now, the lyrics, but there are still 2-3 lines where I wonder whether they're right or wrong. (the little changes I included and the tricky lines are written bold - you'd never guessed that, would ya? ;D) Divine Interventionyou'll be filled full with the good things again you'll be fulfilled, you'll be filled full when I lived in Olympia I would drink myself to sleep sleepwalk in coma deep when I lived in Olympia I closed my heart and prayed for Scythe to come deliver before first light how wrong was Iwhen my father called wouldn't let him in my sister rang to no answering thinking of sin this love in me lost to shame that had hollowed/followed? me (I hear “up” before whatever word follows but can't think of anything that would make sense)I let no one in I was thinking of sin 3x of this love in me I travel north by north-west and found no love, I found no love south by south-west and found no love, found no love and south back to north and still no love, so back to source where you came to me said “you are my love welcome back to love” and you threw me down on my filthy bed “good stock, you are” you said (I always hear stalk instead of stock lol)loved me deeper than anyone's ever been you saw in me, I've been unseen my darling my conqueror The conqueror! 2x you said “we'll find feet for you boy on the good earth, the good earth” you'll find feet on the good earth again you'll be fulfilled, you'll be filled full 2xmy darling my conqueror you'll find feet on the good earth again you'll be fulfilled, you'll be filled full kiss you goodnight Merciait was a day not to forget the sun shone golden apples through the wheat field we wandered dappled lanes up to the house your brother said was haunted someone once had been murdered up? there you gave me the kiss I'll never regret I'll be loving you for all my time be the one that walks beside you mine is yours is minemine is yours yours is mine the next day in Wicksteed Park your sister-in-law showed us those abandoned thrill rides your eyes could be your mind/demined/demise?(haha I have no clue, doesn't make much sense, but it sounds like one of these words)the starlings gathered on the lawns for the leaving of the midlands these lands you were born and raised in I’ll be loving you for all my time Be the one that walks beside you Yours is mine I know you grew up in country I grew up in city but can we grow both together? drive up to the cliffs watch the weather wild and innocent like those days we were younger laugh about the lives we escaped mine is yours is mine mine is yours if yours is mine so darling come on dance with me dance gypsie dance with me come on dance with me so won't you dance with me dance with metime to leave behind the midlands ah I love them both...and I love the ending of Mercia from "so darling..." onwards, because it absolutely sounds like it could be a Björk song
