The debate was good, though it was more of a question and answer. Clegg clearly won. Brown was actually slightly charismatic at times! He had the best jokes, who'd have thought. And I don't know who that other guy was but he's clearly a twat.

www.fridgemagnet.org.uk/toys/dave-met.php !! This makes me laugh, especially considering "the other day I was speaking to a black man.." is my favourite painful Cameron quote of the evening. edit: "Last week, I met a young grandmother, who told me that Lady Gaga got a free car from the NHS." "Last week, I met a black farmer, who told me that David Milliband killed Jesus." "Last week, I met an African investment banker, who told me that Nick Clegg shouldn't be allowed to stay in a B&B when the owner doesn't want them to." etc.

This makes me laugh, especially considering "the other day I was speaking to a black man..&qut; I hope he washed his hands afterwards! As amusing as that was, I found the bit where he declared nuclear war on China funnier.

Hahaha, that's true. I did think to myself "not.. so sure you should be saying that." I know politicians being honest is good and everything, but maybe not when you're 'being honest' about what you might need your nuclear warheads for.

Latest YouGov poll YouGov poll CON 32%(-1), LAB 26%(-3), LDEM 33%(+4) Latest Brix poll CON 31%(-7), LAB 28%(-3), LDEM 32%(+12)
Says it all really, exciting times.
Expect the other two parties and the right wing (and labour?) press to come after Cleggy's Yellow warriors hard now they're suddenly seen as a credible threat mind.
Interesting the Lib Dem swing seems to be mainly driven by young voters.

Interesting the Lib Dem swing seems to be mainly driven by young voters. This is true! It makes me very happy that everyone suddenly cares. Expect the other two parties and the right wing (and labour?) press to come after Cleggy's Yellow warriors hard now they're suddenly seen as a credible threat mind. Interesting you should say this. I just heard three voices calling me from the FUCKING fdfghjkKITCHEn, "Florence! Come quick!". I ran in, and my parents and brother were watching TV. A home video of Casual Cameron, sat in his back garden. Some kind of emergency party political broadcast. Slating the Lib Dems and their recent surge of popularity. Oh Dave, do you know how scared and desperate you look?

I was a fan of the "casual Cameron" video with a Smiths poster in the background it's almost as great as his "hanging backstage with the guys from Radiohead" anecdote.

Labour have quite good celebrities. What celebrities do Lib Dems have? This will be a very important decider in where I place my vote.
(It will not. But I do love Eddie Izzard, and the Labour advert with Sean Pertwee's son and David Tennant gives me such a Whogasm.)
Cheerio, Michael. xxx

The only things I've ever heard/read UKIP say are 'get all immigrants out the country' and stuff about not wanting to be part of Europe. Shut up. Also, I like being part of Europe.
I'm hating these Conservative posters with Gordon Brown's face on with 'intelligent' remarks. Why play so dirty? Or have I missed Labour party doing it too? It's all around here in Streatham, maybe moreso because people don't vote for Conservative here at all. It just makes me think, have you got no argument so instead of campaigning you attack another party instead? I wouldn't want to vote for a party that picks on one person to gain for themselves. Hmm.

I can't think of any examples of other party's slating the Tories in their posters, but yes, they do it a lot to other people. Plus they seem to spend a lot more on advertising anyway, you literally can't escape the billboards. It's because they're all smoke and mirrors.
Sibz, where is that poster from?

^ yeah because it's a REALLY good idea for a government perceived as soft on crime to liken the leader of the opposition to everyones favourite cowboy cop?
Just shows the danger of gimmicky use of pop culture in political campaigning; make sure you actually understand the source material you're invoking and how the general people perceive it.
Fun Nick Clegg factoid of the day! He went to school with Helena Bonham Carter and Gavin Rossdale from Bush. The latter was in his tennis club. Read in the Daily Telegraph that his current personal popularity has been likened to Winston Churchill.. ahh! That's why he's doing so well in the polls.. Daleks!
