^Never been to London but its always been romanticised in my head... Or really horrible and run down... (It varies to extremes) I definitely fit in with that stereotype!

I hyped London up in my mind so much before I went that I was worried I would hate it, but no, it's everything I wanted it to be. But I'm not English so maybe it's different for me? Like an actual fairy-tale land?

Haha, i'd never seen that video It didn't smell bad (but it did have some stains...) It actually had quite a distinctive smell - when i used to do taekwondo, the toilets in the sports centre had soap which smelt just like Dan's towel, so i guess it must have smelt of soap! Em... this conversation's starting to get weird Maybe this will rekindle your love Aw that was lovely! It completely has.. i forgot they had so many great songs - wow! And the towel thing isn't too bad haa And that Andrej Pejic person, he/she/they are hot! I'v never heard of the before though, do they model?

Andrej Pejic is a model, Yes!
I think London is both beautiful and awful, the centre and surroundings areas are beautiful but there is a large amount of poverty and degradation (which can be aesthetically pleasing).

I saw that guy from The Feeling in some kind of situation I found myself in when I was in London at some kind of after-party for something I didn't attend. Or something. It was odd. London is the only place I've ever found myself in such a situation haha Stereotype - lovers of the fairytale that is London? Haha, really? One of my friends is convinced she saw him on the London underground once! I really like London (Mostly because there's loads of places to go shopping!) I used to wish i lived there because most of the bands/musicians i like play so many London shows (it seems like everything happens in London!) But the city i love most is Edinburgh - it's so beautiful <3 I really want to live there when i graduate

I can't really have an opinion on London because i'v never been there, despite being in England all my life... I'd really love to go though. Just havn't had a chance I guess. I agree about the bands and shows.. I get so annoyed when they announce special little gigs in London and what, but i like to think that when im older i'd be awesome enough to travel wherever i want for them anyway I love Edinburgh, i went there earlyer this year but we only stayed there for a couple of days as we had to travel somewhere else for a wedding, and i agree it is really beautiful. To me it was just heaven.. with the accent, and the little shops, and the general city-ness of it all I'm determined to live there one day.

I drag my best friend on a day trip to Edinburgh every few months (but i don't think we can have a christmas trip this year because she has no money ) I love all the wee independent shops (except now i've been to them so many times they're not as exciting). And i love how Princes St gardens is right in the city centre, and i love all the stone buildings and closes (they seem like the sort of places that would be really haunted ), and everything's so pretty It was amazing when i was just starting to discover the city and i'd find all these new places every time i went - now i know it pretty well but i still get so excited going there It was like the best thing ever when Patrick announced an Edinburgh show the weekend of my birthday!!! ;D I was actually born in Edinburgh (but i moved before i was 2 so i don't remember living there) - maybe that's part of the reason i'm so drawn to it

Your blood calls you to Edinburgh! It screams for the city with a dead volcanic hill! (Is that right? Or has geography lied to me.)

Same here, always lived in Liverpool. But my mates want to go to college in Southport and I'm like WHYY, I wanted to be reunited in all our glory in the college close to here?? I dont see why they want to go away from here...
I say Liverpool, i mean like about an hour away from the centre on bus...

How have I never seen this thread before...I love it!! Does anyone have anything more embarrassing than the fork? (Someone must...) (This thread is getting a bit off-topic - maybe we should start an embarrassing fandom confessions thread! Hmmm....I might have finished the drink he left on stage after his Dublin gig... and then stole the martini glass he'd been drinking from...and 4 harp plecs he left on the keyboard...

I haven't read all the posts in this thread, yet. Am I a stereotypical fan? umm. My gig visits have been restricted by my looking after a formerly homeless young person, he's now 19, and now his girlfriend also, and both my cat (Mr Tiddles Wolfie) and their kitten (Millie).
I shall be at The Lowry tonight if all goes well. I have a streaming cold, and having just been to the doctors for a fasting blood test, I have a suit on also. It's clean, which my jeans aren't so I wont be changing.
But I'm sure I'll be singing along with the songs if not vocally.
I'll read this thread when I get back.

I just hope there's enough legroom. I don't normally go to seated gigs, as I have extraordinary log legs.
