my first PW concert….
I saw a poster on the Academy events site, loved the style and investigated further (only yesterday!)
How have I missed this fantastic man!
To contradict the recent media reviews…
There is no doubt that Patrick can (if that's what he wants) become a megastar.
I saw reluctant guys standing bored alongside their girlfriends to begin with - but then totally gobsmacked by his performance, wit and sex appeal (like just a few other men (Freddie to name one), Patrick can attract everyone when on stage).
I'll leave it to others to describe the play list, but we were treated to non-stop delights..all the styles and instruments and genres you (the true fans) know about!
The entrance was, for me, a wonderful tribute to Marc B – (whether intended or not) - maroon boa plus assorted items of clothing in pink and silver – it reminded me of how Marc graced TV at a time when life was fairly grey – well, its grey again – and lets hope the UK gets its act together and starts to appreciate Patrick.
In the 70s I saw Roxy Music for £3 at the Southport Floral Hall when they were so unknown you could walk up to the front of the stage. I felt then what I felt today…Mr Reviewer..you are so wrong!

Hello, welcome to Patrick and welcome to the forum. Hope you are off to buy all 4 albums tomorrow then? Fabulous gig tonight. Patrick goes metal? For sure! The new guitarist and of course the divine Victoria, really make the songs kick ass live. I've been watching Patrick for years now. His fanbase, his credibility and his stature as a durable artist grows each time I see him. Tonight was just wonderful. Bowie/Bolan/Bush/Mitchell, he is all of these artists rolled into one. Best song for me tonight :- 'Damaris'. Just incredible, then 'Battle', then, the new supercharched 'A&E', in fact, Oh my, they were ALL great. (Well, save for the very last one that he did "especially for Manchester" LOL). A packed house, (for the first time in Manchester) and a brilliant gig. Nothing can touch Patrick these days, absolutely nothing.

If you mean the girls - and wasn't the younger lady absolutely beautiful? - then I think they were called 'Serefena'. However, the band, before them - whom I missed (aaaahhh) were 'We Fell To Earth'.

If you mean the girls - and wasn't the younger lady absolutely beautiful? - then I think they were called 'Serefena'. They were brill. It was pretty obvious they were nervous but they were just adorable! beautiful voices and I was impressed when she started playing the Harp and keyboard at the same time! lol Anyone know if they have a website or myspace page? It was my first live Patrick gig too, was brilliant. The only problem I had was some verrry drunk woman barging into me every 5 seconds (think she thought it was a Metallica concert or something) but thankfully she moved away when Patrick came into the audience (my saviour! ;D ). Shame it had to end so early... they were off stage by 10:30

This my second time seeing Patrick (the first time was at Lowry) and it was great getting the full "band experience" as well as the more acoustic set last time I saw it. I rather liked the first band and thought the second support were amazing. The main lady was very talented. I'm pretty sure their Myspace is www.myspace.com/drumstreetsefa
